I think the most likely reason for having two vocalists is the exact same reason for having two guitarists: more options. A guitarist cannot play two parts simultaneously, nor can a vocalist vocalize two parts at the same time. Ergo, having more than one vocalist expands the band's creative potential.

System of a down you can tell the difference between the two easily

Lacuna coil one is a guy another is a girl

Vildjharta has two singers that you can barely tell the difference between.

I never said they were bad I dig this band a lot but I just think they sound way to similar for them to NEED two singers.

The whole 'djent' thing is getting quite overdone but I gotta say there is some pretty sweet riffage going on here, really doomy/apocalyptic feel as opposed to "generic groove". Defiantly one of the better bands playing music such as this. Although that vocalist with the interesting haircut sounds exactly like one of the vocalists I had in my first band, back when I played metal.
