The paths we take are different but our destination is one. Suicide bombing, zionism or terrorism that has no place on our path. The true path of moses jesus and mohammed is but one.
Don't you think that if there's one God, he's terribly lonely?

@MrRabbani2010 An act of kindness should be something that is performed naturally, not something that is done because a book proscribes it. Does anyone know if the Hasidic Jews are against Israel ? Is that why they have communities elsewhere ? I like the way they educate themselves through on-the-job experience. The way it should be IMO
Most hasidic jews are not zionists, some are even anti-zionists.. Their anti-zionist stance are rooted in their belief that a Jewish kingdom can first be established after the coming of the messiah.. And its forbidden to try to establish a Jewish kingdom before that.. And because the israeli government is secular.. But even though they are anti-zionists some of them are very right wing on israeli policies.. They live elsewhere to separate themselves from secular influence..
@pegelatrin I'm taking a course on the Middle East right now and Hasidic Jews tend to be very right wing in terms of Israeli policies. although they are anti-zionist they want to make Israel a non-secular state. It's very funny since they were against its establishment in the beginning.
@meab12@pegelatrin I'm sorry, you have been miss informed. Most Hasidic Jews ARE Zionists; however, the ones that aren't get disproportionate media attention hence the apparent confusion. The reason they have communities elsewhere are because generally speaking, this is where either their ancestry has lived over the past few centuries, or this is the location that they received refuge during Hitler's reign.
There are however, few Hasidim that are anti-Zionist, although a very small minority.
Almost every Hasidic community I had contact with in Chicago were Extremely anti-zionist. I remember some of the clergy from several shuls in Chicago protested against the Israeli attacks on Gaza, and on the anniversary of Israel there were literally 2-3 thousand Jews protesting in downtown Chicago. There are pics online, but it got no media coverage, at all.
It depends which sect they belong too, as pegelatrin says there are many that are quite anti-Zionists (such as Satmar, which the subject of this film belongs to). The one that is quite right-wing on Israeli policies is Lubavitch--some of its members do describe themselves as Zionist, but the position of its previous rebbe was anti-Zionist.
@meab12 As said most Hasidim arent particularly Zionist but they arent really against it either. The Satmarim are known to oppose Israel which is why they tend to have large communities in England or the Brooklyn. They're the most openly anti-Zionist. The most Zionist Hasidic sect are the Chabadniks. They receive a lot of public funding and much of that goes to the State of Israel.
@meab12 The majority of Ashkenazi (European Jews) Haredim are anti-Zionist. There are exceptions, such as Ger, Belz, and Chabad Hasidic Jews. Among the Sephardim (Middle Eastern Jews), the case is very different. They are more supportive of Israel. The Sephardic Haredi party Shas is part of the WZO. So don't believe everyone who tells you that ALL Orthodox Jews are anti-Zionist. The people who say that are usually anti-Zionists.
Pig sow's have highly nutritious milk that is widely used in some countries, but not kosher. I guess the interviewer didn't learn that when she received her BA degree.
neighbors should help each other no matter what religion are they in, they are helping only their own community, only their religion. they are fundamentalist & rasist. I would not have them as my neighbor, same as i would not have talibans, or christian fundamentalist as my neighbors.
@STONEISLAND38 sorry but is is more complex than that. some hasidic jews... for example the LUBAVITCHERS (look it up) are pro zionism. SATMAR hasidim are against Israel without a messiah, i.e. the way it is now... on top of that there are MANY non-HASIDIC and non-ORTHODOX Jews who are anti-Zionism...
Lubavitch is also anti-zionists.. But they have a different attitude towards the state of israel then the satmars have.. They are very right wing on certain israeli policies. But they are not zionists.. Few ultra orthodox jews are zionists since zionism is a secular and atheistic movement..
@pegelatrin hmm, sounds kinda confusing. the lubavitch UK website says they do support israel in the FAQ section... and apparently there are ultra-orthodox settlers in israel.... pardon my ignorance if I am wrong, I am not too educated on these matters.....
they are big supporters of israel and certain israeli policies, but they arnt zionists.. there's a differance.. The Israeli Gov are building huge suburbs in the west bank for ultra orthodox people.. But those settlers arn't zionists either.. They move to the west bank because they can live to a much higher standard then if they were living inside the legal borders of israel.
@topbluffa1 The Torah is actually quite explicit to where Israel is and should be. It is the Ottoman Empire who stole the land from the children of Israel and now it has been recovered.
@topbluffa1 Zionism is not really forbidden in the Torah. That is the reason why it is such a hot topic in the Jewish world. In the 1940's it nearly torn the Jewish world apart.
@VegetarianDatabase Many but not all Satmar Chassidim are against Israel and even if they agree with the state they disagree at the moment with it and believe it is not truly being a Jewish state. So, many Satmar and Ultra Orthodox Jews are against all kinds of Nationalism and be secular etc
Lubavitch are Chassidic yet very modern and do, for the most part, support the state of Israel. Most of the settlers you mean are Jews who were not raised religous and become quite religous.
@pegelatrin Most Chabad Lubavitch are very much pro-Israel and pro-British (or American, Canadian etc) They are more liberal and believe you can have nationalism and can have, to some extent, a voice in politics. The Satmar and many others who are similiar such as Bobov, Karlin, etc believe in being more quiet, withdrawn and stick to full time study, so to speak.
it's probably because jews think they are a chosen people. if you want people to think you're better, you've got to act like it. otherwise, you're a hypocrite.
nah. muslims shot themselves in the foot cos of all the extremists out there, catholics are having one hell of a time post-pedophile scandals and most jews are so secularised nobody expects anything much. and i don't think it's really true there are higher standards expected.... standards in what? intelligence? asians test higher than middle easteners/europeans. ethically? who talks about ethics anymore...
i think your comment is a bit outdated. but my original response still stands.
Jews are held to a higher moral standard than anyone else - partiularly the chasidics. As for your claim re I.Q testing they have have been shown by scientists of all different persuaions to be invalid as the only thing they really test are culture. I don't know if you are old enough to remember the furore surrounding Charles Murray the New Right sociologist who claimed that 'blacks' were inherently inferior (as were poor 'whites' incidentally) in the early 90s... he proved this using I.Q tests.
@hakeem2003 Brother, I note your name is Hakeem. Does not the idea that we are all born Muslims surely mean that Muslims think they are the chosen people too.......
@risteard01 You're not "born" a Muslim. It's not a race, which was what Jews say of being Jewish. You can be born "into" a religion but you're not born Muslim, Christian, Hindu etc. Even the Prophet Muhammad said: "A child is born on the fitra (a natural disposition that inclines one to worship God) and it is his parents who make him Muslim, Christian or Jew." And just because someone has an Arabic name doesn't mean he is Muslim. Have you never heard of Arab Christians?
Their first language is Yiddish.. which takes the R sound from German (similar to French - back of the throat). They pray in Hebrew which also pronounces the R sound back there. English is nothing more than a second language to them which they use occasionally so they often speak it with an accent.
I think this is where the Jews are misunderstood. They stick to their own, there is nothing wrong with that, but they are very, very successful, more successful in some places than the majority. That breeds jealousy and then hatred.
Its also because nepotism flourishes in the communities though. Because education is such a big deal in jewish communities, most people learn a trade. Whereas your average American family sends their kids to school, don't teach them a trade, then sned them off to college to get a degree and try to get jobs from strangers.
Oh the horror. Yes, let's stop sending kids to colleges and let's open more diamond stores. Too bad the college kids who created youtube didn't learn from your wisdom.
My point was that jewish communities financially flourish because they rigorously stress higher education, and because they back it up by educating their kids in their own work skills and then practice nepotism to get them further ahead.
@ChetCampbell72 Yes, what you have said is worded very correctly. There is a kind of jealously in the fact that Jews are very withdrawn and have had much financial success over generations. The reason is that they try to master their skills. They have family business's and trades that I only know understand how valuable they can be in such an economic crisis we are in.
@ChetCampbell72 If all people "stuck to their own" then "sticking to your own" would not be possible because we only survive as a result of inter dependence. The Hasidic community do not produce Hasidic electricity, they do not have a Hasidic mail service, they do not drink Hasidic water. "Sticking to your own" & living in isolation is not possible within a diverse country without taking & using the fruits of other's labour...THIS is why people resent groups who isolate themselves.
These people pay taxes the same way any UK citizen pays taxes. Yes, the Hasidic community does not produce Hasidic electricity, but they PAY FOR IT. The same way any other UK citizen who does not work in the electricity sector is not producing their own electricity. They are paying for it.
You are a fucking idiot....if people want to keep to themselves, they are not hurting you. You are not forbidden to shop at their stores.

In total America has given over a trillion dollars to the establishment of Israel.
They have done that for no-one else. Why?
It is because of the pull AIPAC and the Jewish lobby has on US politics. All that money is essentially stolen from the taxpayers.
Why is it that Jewish people always demand to be treated better than everyone else? Is it because they believe they are the "chosen people"?

I don't know if you are old enough to remember the furore surrounding Charles Murray the New Right sociologist who claimed that 'blacks' were inherently inferior (as were poor 'whites' incidentally) in the early 90s... he proved this using I.Q tests.

Btw.... ethics and morals are not the same thing......
risteard01 2 years ago
never said morality and ethics are interchangeable..... re-read comment.
no idea who murray is, sorry. and i agree that statistics are shaky things.... but a convenient shorthand.

@risteard01 why not? they call themselves the chosen race, an elite group. anyone would hold an elite to greater scrutiny. stands to reason.

@hakeem2003 Brother, I note your name is Hakeem. Does not the idea that we are all born Muslims surely mean that Muslims think they are the chosen people too.......
risteard01 1 year ago
@risteard01 You're not "born" a Muslim. It's not a race, which was what Jews say of being Jewish. You can be born "into" a religion but you're not born Muslim, Christian, Hindu etc. Even the Prophet Muhammad said: "A child is born on the fitra (a natural disposition that inclines one to worship God) and it is his parents who make him Muslim, Christian or Jew." And just because someone has an Arabic name doesn't mean he is Muslim. Have you never heard of Arab Christians?

Why do so many orthodox jews not pronounce their 'R's properly, Ive noticed it more than once!
gypsykatcher30 2 years ago 2

What are you talking about?
My point was that jewish communities financially flourish because they rigorously stress higher education, and because they back it up by educating their kids in their own work skills and then practice nepotism to get them further ahead.
What in the world were you trying to say?
crock703 2 years ago 2
Sorry, should've looked up the meaning of "nepotism" before I replied. I initially understood it as anti-school statement.

these are the most orthadox though. they make up 10% of the Jews in the UK

@DidloDurante
Wow that was a stupid post!
Get a life you joke.
