Polar Opposites is a song title that works on two levels - (1) the lyrics themselves; but mostly (2) the fact that the song is so upbeat, but the lyrics are rather depressing. This cover makes the song possibly even more upbeat, so it's keeping with the feel of it.

@BeLiterary You might want to read the entirety of my comment before replying to it. That was my whole point. I wrote "the lyrics are rather depressing". That's why the song's title works on two levels: the one being that the lyrics are themselves about polar opposites, i.e. bipolar disorder; and the other being the fact that the lyrics are depressing, but the song itself (the music) is upbeat. Have you even heard the original? It's catchy as hell.

@upyr1: *facepalm* i feel sorry for you, if you can't appreciate Isaac Brock's style. Not everyone does. There's a reason it's called alternative music- It breaks boundaries between genres, pushing our limits. Modest Mouse's music experiments with so many different instruments, levels of dissonance, etc. etc.

This is an awesome cover, don't get me wrong- but if you find the covers "better" than the originals that's because their easier to listen to. There's less depth.

Agreed, Love it. I'm a lover of many kinds of music. I really like Modest Mouse. My best friend played "Pickin' On Modest Mouse" for me a little over a year ago. I told her, "That's awesome!". I like the covers they do as much as the originals :)
