  • this use to be one of my favorite games

  • I humm this tune on a daily basis while I drive

  • Damn this game was so hard...

So many quarters wasted! I think I only got to the boats once or twice and died immediately both times!

  • The melody sounds almost like the Blues Brothers Oo

  • everybody sees me but it's not that easy standing in the lightfield waiting for some actress to say why wont you come over here

  • @thekillers1stfan why wont you come over here? We gotta city to love

  • I loved this game

  • @Teletran35

I totaly agree, i spend HOURS playing this game in school, damn it was fun.

  • didnt the arcade version have a steering wheel like knight rider,, kindda?

  • @lexyota Yes it did

  • When i get my own house i was this playing in the background all the time

  • 0:00-3:03

  • there was an early pc game called deathtrack that had basically the exact same music.

  • @OCTOMARVEL it was written by Henry Mancini, it's the theme song from a TV show called Peter Gunn originally aired in 1958

  • I hear Armored Armadillo in there

  • @jrmenard630

You are right but Amored Armadillos theme was inspired by this song . Most of the Megaman/Rockman themes were inspired by music of this genre

  • I loved this game! Ita has something very special!

  • fun and easy to play on bass!

  • This game kicks ass!!! Man I loved this shit! Music rules!

I never beat this game though. Tough as hell!

  • Ooooh thats what that music is from

  • the b52s "planet claire" check it out!!!!!!!!

  • @dodgerville thats a sweet jam!!

  • The Strokes "Juice Box"

  • Can't Beat Henry Mancini.

  • Peter Gunn FTW

  • I remember getting the missles

  • Classic arcade game, love this theme song

  • Man! This brings back memories... I remember singing this theme in class. So 1980's :P

  • @blkbrdsr71 the theme is late 1950s. not 80s.

  • I spent a few quarters on this game at the arcades, back in the day! awesome music.

    Classic.

  • My favorite game back in the day.

  • If you bought this game for full price back in the days, I honestly pity you...

  • This was in the first blues brothers when she shot the rocket at them...Who did that song in the movie..it was sweet

  • @darkmummy86 The version in the movies was performed by the blues brothers band. Steve Cropper, "Duck" dunn, & a list of other big name studio musicians. Its on the blues brothers soundtrack.

  • @Silfe113 It is hard. But very satisfying for an NES game.

  • @falariem the new one is better the interceptor can withstand alot more dmg

  • lol peter gun

  • I never played this, it looks hard.

  • ICEY ROADS AHEAD!!!

  • nes version sucks arcade was it...

  • the nes version is a near perfect arcade port!

  • ive beaten the game

(see how many people catch on)

  • doesn't the game just keep looping back to start?

  • yeah thats the joke

  • man i hated and loved this game, wanted to break my nes as a kid.

  • also I always thought there was one speed...

  • there is a real jazz song somewhere that this is based on. does anyone know the name of it??

  • I believe it's called the "Peter Gunn" theme. From the TV show of the same name. At least that's what my Father said when he heard me playing this..

  • I can listen to this theme song all day!

  • Why not the 2600 version??

  • i wanna hear someone shred this on guitar, specifically at 1:37

  • Awesome game.. played this so much when i was a little kid.. loved it!, still do!

  • I use to own this game on the NES ,it was kinda fun but i think it never ends

  • I wonder why you got 10 dumb downs. Don't you people realize he was talking about team fortress 2?

  • lol

  • but not original enough to pay copyrights

  • Peter Gunn Theme, originally composed by Mancini.

  • True. It does bring back memories. I thought it sounded a little different back then. I still remember the steering wheel and the little icons that would light up when you get missles and oil slick. Awesome shit.

  • my favorite cheat in this game was, at the beginning as soon as you're dropped off, just push and hold down "up" and you can drive through the grass (altho you don't get any points that way) and you can zip through the first part of the game unharmed.

Actually, that works most times when you're dropped off at the edge of the scree and then the track doesn't immediately widen to the right.

  • Hey, I remember doing that on my C64.

I think that was a bug.

  • this is on playstation 3 isnt it

  • @sjmeerkees

ill say it for you "fuck"

  • the blues brothers movie used this theme, it was the theme song to the "Peter Gunn" show. i dont know much about the show. i think it was one of those old style hard boiled detective shows. but this was the theme to it.

  • Let us not also forget that Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, among many other groups, covered this song as well, benaldo138.

  • Rock N Roll Racing also used this song.

  • where could i download this song from ?

  • The "bass" is similar

  • well,not really just a tad bit

  • hahahah they're rite, it sounds like Juicebox by The Strokes

  • It's the Peter Gun theme from Blues Brothers.

  • Umm, The Blues Brothers was awesome?

    That's all I got.

  • So how's the music compared to Super Spy Hunter?

  • strange this is the same theme as my gameboy game blues brothers: the jukebox adventure.

  • So who played the SMS version like me...Action Fighter. I never actually knew there was an NES version. This looks a bit more difficult, somewhat different as well. Cool stuff.

  • Probably my favorite classic arcade game.

But, this is not the same sound track from the real game. This one is anemic compared to the real one.

  • Awesome game and song, but technically it's not original music. That's the theme from "Peter Gunn", and it's been performed many times in awesome ways. Check out the version by The Jody Grind.

  • Fucking awesome game. I played this soooo much as a kid.

  • dang, brought back so many memories! thanks!

  • We had to play this theme in my school Jazz band!

  • nice video, wish i couls have seen the boat stage

  • I loved the "chink chink chink!" sound the bulletproof cars made when you shot them.

  • Man I love the theme and this game I grew up with it its just so awesome.

  • Idiots. It's the Peter Gunn theme from the 50s, written by Henry Mancini (who also wrote the Pink Panther theme)

  • And the Baby Elephant Walk.

  • And the themes to Columbo, McMillian and Wife, music to The Thornbirds mini-series, just to name a few of them, too.

  • I think they stole this from the movie "The Blues Brothers"

  • They never "stole" it if they paid royalties

  • You just laid the smack down with TRUTH !

  • Funny you said that, since The Rock was in the third Spy Hunter, but I heard it didn't smell so good.

  • This was a response to GreatUnwashedMass

  • I always like to whistle to this theme.
