@sparkynchief - Jeeze, "Mr." is a little formal for someone you love, isn't it? Please, "T" is much more in keeping with my informal approach to life. I love you too, whom or whatsoever you may be! Thanks for the sentiment and the generosity of you time and spirit to leave such a heartwarming comment. XOXOXOXO
@RockNLoops Thanks! I have to admit, I didn't dig deep enough for the subject at hand, believing that simply by googling "grass" that I would have ample (excuse the expression) fodder for the video. I now know that I merely skimmed the surface of the the varieties and uses of this ever present resource.
This song came out in the summer of '68, and I always remember it for two reasons:1. It's great music, and 2. I had a crush on a girl that summer - very skinny, but could fill a bathing suit very amply, thankyouverymuch!
1972: I was 7 years old back in London's West End, & just started getting an allowance. The first thing I ever bought with my allowance was a 7" 45 of this song. I still have that very record framed on my wall....memories...THANKS FOR POSTING THIS SONG MATE!
I'm terrible about remembering film sound tracks - especially compilation tracks. Especially tracks after 1960, actually (sorta old skool about film composers - Korngold, Steiner, Hermann, etc.) favorite current film composer is Danny Elfman,) But...."The Last King of Scotland" was a wonderful film.
@tdalaska No problem, tdalaska. This song played when Idi Amin (the actor's name who played him escapes me right now) was jumping into his pool for a race with others (and all the others pretty much let him win).
Wow, I used to LOVE this song when I was just a kid. Then I got the 45 (UNI records), and I remember hearing an awful edit at the beginning of the 45, it sounded horrible. But this version sounds great! Really excellent imagery (I LOVE that shot with the guy crossing the road in that grassy donut -- that's hysterical!) Really nice job with the visuals! And, at the risk of sounding like the "tired sketch", goodolarchie ... the cowbell really DOES make it!
I didn't have a clue about the SNL/Chris Walken skit until the month I uploaded this video. It appears that for some folks the 'cowbell' thing really is a reason for celebration in a song. Who am I to argue that? I also love the rare but - in my opinion - equally compelling glockenspiel, but maybe that's just me....
Thank you all for your wonderful comments - I really felt that this tune, in it's original form, needed to be re-introduced on YouTube. For the most part, my uploads are all about the quality of the audio - the video portion is just eye candy (I don't even know if I intended a pun here). Of course, this tune, as joyful and engaging as it it, would be only half of what it is without that much appreciated cowbell.
Both versions of Grazing in the Grass are great. this and Friends of Distinction. It's a classic song. Everything has become crap, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, and who ruined it all Justin Bieber. I wish everything would be just oldies station instead of what we get today.
Can I get some more cow bell please?

@skaha77 Thanks! Yeah - I was disappointed with the version that was here and I thought the tune deserved a better presentation.

More cowbell!

@isaactaylor08 I wholeheartedly agree. However, I think this tune is already in violation of several Fire Marshall warnings re: cowbell capacity.
