Why am I rated thumbs down for saying the original tales of Symphonia is better? It is better! Ten times better in fact! If you think anything else thats only because you haven´t played it. I´m not saying Dawn of the New World is a bad game, I´m only saying that it´s not half as good as the original ToS.

@dobadobadooo : The reason is because it sounds like you belittling this game. I too agree the first game is better but from when you said "waaaayyy better" sounds like you saying this game sucks. This game was decent...it fixed a lot of problem that the first one had but gave a whole new slew of problem.

Anyway, at least you are not one of those "nostalogic freak" as I put it. They are the people who always say "This version SUCKS! Original FTW". Oh well! You can not have it all.

@Tentenlaw No, I didn't hate the game. Not at all. Richter is in fact my favorite "Tales of" character of all time.

What I'm saying is just that while Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World was a good RPG, the original Tales of Symphonia was just MIND BLOWING. I mean, even today it still stands as one the greatest games ever made, at least in my opinion. And anyone who has played both games can't argue that the original is better, that much is for certain.

I have played Phantasia, Abyss, Symphonia, Symphonia DotNW, and Legendia. :-D My first one was of course, Symphonia. This is how I got addicted to the Tales series.

Why? When we first got Symphonia, my brother was Lloyd and my sister Genis. I tried everyone and I learned to be a great healer. ^_^ When my sister played Tear yesterday, in 10 seconds, everyone's HP was below 30%. I had to do something and when I came back, everyone's near death. >_> I showed my sister how to switch character so she can be Luke. She never opens the item menu in battle. Usually, it is me or my brother.

@Tentenlaw : After that, she realizes how important the healer job is. He/she has to keep a constant watch on people's HP...and that is not easy when you are disrupted in every which way. O:-)

So if you ask who do I usually play as...it would be the healer...but I can practically use anyone...swordsman, archer, chakram users, etc.

As for game, I loved Symphonia BUT...I actually like Abyss more due to improved battle system, better enemies, free run, longer game, auto-item usage, etc. Hehe! But I like all Tales games because each has its own merit. I probably would love Vesperia but...would I buy an Xbox 360 just for one game? Seems like a waste!

Abyss was awesome, but I liked Symphonia the best, not just because it was the first Tales game I played, but also because I liked the story better, and because all the villains of Abyss died, and i really liked them. :(

@Kyuuketsuki111 : She can heal even the first time you fight her. You probably interrupted her before she can cast any healing magic. Listen to her incantation. If she recites "Oh healing power...", she is probably using First Aid or Heal.

you have to only attack alice and use special "hold B while doing arcane arte with full special bar" on her with Emil, then the fight becomes way easier, otherwise she heals like 30k, which is ridiculously high.

Or, run up, Sword Rain: Alpha and scram before Decus comes a'swingin. Blade Fury -> Heavenly Tempest is also a good stagger/run tactic.
