Comet have a reputation for pisspoor customer service, in fact if you google them they are almost legendary for treating customers like stupid mugs for buying anything off of them...my advice...go round your local store for what ever your looking for...find a yellow shirted twat who thinks he might get commision off a warranty and see if they can offer any advice (unlikely) then go home and buy it on Amazon or someone similar, they have a much better aftersales service and are by miles cheaper

Do they care that you have burnt it? No.
You did them a favour by saving them the costs of parts and the engineers time/labour in repairing it and/or providing you a replacement.
