  • Then find some foster parents for the baby Fiats! :-)

Just one thing mate - breathable covers (despite the ads) are NOT great outdoors as they will still trap some moisture. Some guys in the MB Owners Club have still had rust accumulate under these covers and its a bit of a misnomer to believe they protect completely against the elements.

Best to keep her regularly waxed and leathered and use a jet wash behind the 4 wheel arches (mud is a menace for accumulating here and trapping water).

  • It is my first . I bought it as a second car . It will be on the drive , the garage is full of baby fiats! So I have invested in a breathable cover and waxoyling is on my list . So far I am really impressed with the car . She is really too good to keep outside but at the mo I have no choice .

    Thanks for the interest

    Dan

  • Looks a really clean W123 fella - is this your first?

W123's are the best ever series to leave Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart and the most reliable car on the planet. Over-engineered, hand-built by German craftsmen (not computers like the initial woeful W124 series) and great to drive.

    2 points:

    (i) change oil (use 20/50) every 3,000 miles - it's literally a 10 minute job.

(ii) get 'waxoyled' regularly underneath every 2 years (it's quite cheap).

Look after her - and she'll never let you down!
