*sigh* this is kind of... amusing to watch, and not too horrible, but that voice actor grinds my last nerve. A brick wall has more emotion.
I guess the main problem is the quality really isn't up to movie standards at all, it's more Charlie Brown quality, without the inherent charm of Charlie Brown, and longer.
Anyway, I shouldn't be ranting too much. Nobody's forcing me to watch this. And I am having fun mocking...
i don't know what it is about older animations, but they have always disturbed me. It's the visual aspect of them. very raw and at times hideous enough to come across as haunting.
@maleficentdiva the best way to describe Turkish Delight is a powdered jelly bean like candy. It can contain nuts, fruit chocolate or plain. if you google Turkish delight lot's of good pictures and recipes will pop up.
Years ago I wrote a fan letter to Beth Porter (who does the voice of the White Witch) to offer my compliments on her contribution to this film. Her colorful, articulate voice added much to the conflict within the plot. She graciously responded to my questions about voice-over/recording for a cartoon.
I don't believe this! I'm over ten years older than I was the last time I saw this, and I STILL can't for the life of me make out what that line is right after "It's me! Edmund!"
cool! but! when i used to watch this 20 odd years ago, the version I had was with English childrens voices. I have to say it worked much better........
thats just unfair. for me and ppl like me that has watched this as a kid its special. i can see that it might look bad but i pity u for not seeing what i see in it. i even think the new version is built a little from this one.
yes i to have grown up watching the lion the witch and the wardrobe and have come to love it,both the cartoon version and the live action one,and think of this that the live action one would have never existed without this one being made.
i remember watching this when i was a little girl.i cried sooo much when they cut off the lion's hair. now i am 24 years old and still adore it. thanx for upload love u
i remeber watching this in class now they have the neweer version out and they are following with prince caspian (mouth watering) but for a child this is perfect.
I went to Catholic school in the '70's. I remember when I had to watch this on TV as a homework assignment. All I could think of was "WHOOPPEE! Our homework is to watch TV! & It's a CARTOON no less! BEST HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT EVER!" The next day, my class had to explain how this story relates to Jesus' life. & Yes, we were being taught that it was a Christian allegory way back then. It's been around 30 years, & I still remember loving every minute of this homework assignment! {{{{^_^}}}}
@malt8291: Don't ask me. Ask Sr. Julie. I wasn't in charge of handing out the homework. I was just kid... & damned happy to get such an easy homework assignment! lol!
Thank you so much for posting this! I used to watch it over and over when I was a kid. Is there any way you could update the other parts, because the rest of the videos don't work any more. :(
the witch did go to earth. you have to read The Magician's Nephew for that information. Also, the wardrobe came from an appleseed from an apple Aslan gave to the magician's nephew to cure his mother from an illness.

I watched this when I was a kid and it was british actors doing the voices, the voice of Mr Beaver was Captain Mainwaring from Dads Army.
I am thinking it has been translated and shipped to lots of countries, the animation looks continental.

On another note: Edmund's character design reminds me of Jon Arbuckle (from Garfield) for some reason...
