  • @setenteromusic Have to disagree with you there buddy. I'm a musician. Been playing this since it was launched. Still playing it today. (I still thumbed up your comment tho)

  • @petemcclelland100 i appreciate all your comments your never rude to anyone! you should be very proud! TNX keep it up and please reply

  • @setenteromusic with all due respect they've been saying that ever since music began

  • they are one of the best groups ever i love listening to their song they are so meaningful n relaxing

  • this is a beautifully sung romantic sounding song. If you listen to the words tho it sounds more like a to do list. Get out while you can and let him water his own plants

  • Oh my God, Dennis is soooooooo HOT!!! Love him!!

  • love you dr. hook these were wonderful days only didnt know it then brenda mclendon bate

  • @brendabate Better late than never. Funny how time goes by and the way you think and see things change hey!. Dr Hook in my opinion are one of the greatest romantic groups of all time. Love them with a passion.

  • @mrtogster oh please COUNT me in - I stumbled upon them in 1973, when I was 16 and wanted to reel in a boy I was mad about. Asked him what music he liked voluntered to make him a tape and he said dr.Hook, went and bought the records available.Boy later confessed he hated Hook. The boy lasted 7 yrs. the HOOK is with me forever! and silverstein - adore him all he has written - absolutely all. (see recommandation)) (wonder what kids do nowadays with downloads being possible?)

  • how about , ill miss your smile , tenderness . the man who wrote this song is obviously a sexist pig. flirts the way i do . iron my shirts. honestly.

  • @mitzi7416 get a life you feminist freak. you are so caught up in your feminista mantra you cant even enjoy a good song. Hope you like being single cause you will be for a long time with that attitude

  • @mitzi7416 Does the nameSilverstein ring a bell? If it not you're missing out! Take it from a gal who hates housework, and loves EVERYTHING by uncle Shelby. If you think this painfully romantic song is sexist - try to listen to "I'll call that true love" - you'll be going through the roof "exerpt Ever' mornin' won't you you wake up early cook me great big T-bone steak Serve it to me in bed go on the street and hustle bring me back all the money you make" -it's called humour

  • @mitzi7416 you are obviously from another planet when it comes to great songs, in fact I'd go so far as to say that you are to music what Liberace was to Rugby League!

  • memories of the 80

  • This is my all time fav song from Dr Hook...Memories from from the past with such fond love to all who have and lost............................

  • For my Jim whose sadly gone-this was one of our faves-love you as I love this song xxxxxxxxxxx

  • i may b only 22 but i grew up listing to dr.hook thanks to my grandmother i love the music especially this song

  • Off to see Dennis in Glasgow will be in heaven if he plays this one.

  • Hey what a song!

    It's tipical of couples

    Thanks P

  • My opinion, Dennis Locorrrier's unique voice and talent is second to none, and that includes Elvis and Sinatra. Please spend some time listening to him on YouTube, and you will see what I am saying. I'm not talking about charisma or his stage presence or name recognition. But his beautiful voice and delivery. Dennis never misses a word or a note. Perfection.

  • green's playhouse glasgow[theapollo]. ray walking through the audience and people just sitting there. dennis singing so good. even ray hafkine at the side. brilliant concert. dr hook was a band not just a couple of guys.

  • Den had my heart from the age of 15 and still does.

I wish you all THE BEST always !

  • I think thay bring back life to me now that I found them here on youtube, love you guys and I wish you all could come back to rutland fair in vermont were I became your top fan alone with my family.

  • Just one of so many absolutely brilliant tracks from a band who, in my opinion, never got the true recognition they deserved. I will never, ever get tired of listening to their many albums I have in my collection and I make no apologies for it

  • love this song so much :)

  • Don’t send Dennis Locorriere fan mail. I did, and his answer was very rude. Made me want to cry to realize that the spirit of the person didn’t match the lovely voice. I can only guess that the reason he lives in the U.K. is because he has insulted the whole North American continent. It is a pity; with his talent, he should be on top of the charts. But now you know the rest of the story. My esteem for the rest of the band went up about 100 notches, since they had to tolerate him for 15 years.

  • @gttdkt

Well, maybe he was high when replying. I dunno. But he's old now, isn't he? Maybe he has dementia. Or, maybe he's just an arsehole. Anyway, Ray liked him before, obviously, so he can't have always been awful.

  • @LauraDenvir

According to Dennis, he and Ray aren't on speaking terms these days. Sad, they looked like they were having fun in those old videos. But it WAS their job to entertain. And entertain, they DID. I love their music, none the less.

  • @gttdkt Unfortunately, some of the artists think they are better than us because they have a talent like this; but he is still only human like the rest of us.

  • @gttdkt thats really sad because i met dennis after a gig in liverpool and he was great. he signed an old dr hook LP for my mum, posed for pictures with us and shook our hands, he made time for eberybody..

  • @thehoff1982 - I'm with you. My wife and I met him after a gig in Skegness (of all places) - he posed for pictures - was very charming and seemed quite genuine - and all that after what must be the most entertaining live performance you could imagine - he was brilliant a real showman. Maybe you just rubbed him up the wrong way "gttdkt".

  • @phantom0621

Obviously I did that. I didn't mean to. I apologized. From reading some of his remarks on his web page, it seems he is quite defensive about his Dr. Hooks days. So, something set him off. But I didn't say anything offensive. I love his voice and his talent. Not to minimize that.

  • i cried listenin to this song,it reminds me of my younger brother who i havent seen in 10 years xx

  • @xxphoinexxx1 Well go, *shoo's away* go go, go see him!

  • This song evokes so many memories and brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. I am only 47 but have asked for this song to be played at my funeral.

  • @Dippyjean if this is played at your funeral that would mean you were dead - why would you care about being fed or your shirt being ironed? just asking . . . .

  • @Dippyjean 47 you old bugger...........x

  • I love it! !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FROM CHRIS TO RALPH

  • Hook were so brilliant, where did my youth go to ???? lol

  • @kjf666 Best Answer, or should I say question/

  • From this song, to Sylvia's Mother, to Years From Now, to Wonderful Soup Stone, to You Ain't Got The Right, and so many others, Is Dr. Hook one of the most underrated groups of all time? Who is with me?

  • @99pnkflyd99 wiv yoo all da way on dat one!!

  • @99pnkflyd99 I am - and I can't vote - for some reason - denmark is an itsy bitsy small country, but here they were really big - not many that didn't know dr. hook in 70+80 ties - they have played here numerous times. Even in my hometown, which is a small town.LOL - they showed up 2 hrs late, and were so high (1973 what can I say) they could hardly play, but what they did play - was wonderful. I think of the night with fondness - I thought they were good. Some were pissed off goes without saying

  • @99pnkflyd99 I'm with you on that one, love them.

  • @99pnkflyd99 I'm with you, fantastic group, can you tell me which album I got stoned and I missed it is on. I know it was their 1st (think it was their first or one before the broke up and got back together)

  • @99pnkflyd99 you are so right!!!! long live the Hook!!!

  • @99pnkflyd99 Brilliant,,But I would say the Hollies.

The Rolling Stoners would have to be BY FAR THEE most over rated band of all time,Those guys should never have made it to the radio,,whiny talentless crap

  • @MrSteveUtah despite the fact i like -Paint It Black, Mother's Little Helper, 19th Nervous Breakdown and Angie, considering the release dates of these songs and the amount of material they have put out, I may have to agree as to them being the most overrated

  • @MrSteveUtah crap...

  • @99pnkflyd99

Absolutely yes!!! Sounds for all occasions, lots of feeling in the songs, lots of songs that can make you cry and songs that can make you smile aswell. Brilliant!!

  • @99pnkflyd99 I'm with you. Such appealing, plaintive vocals ... and extremely comical, when called for!

  • @99pnkflyd99

    Absolutely..totally underated

  • @99pnkflyd99 Don't worry they have a huge cult following like me and you. I've seen them 9 times!!

  • @99pnkflyd99

im only 19 but im 190%with you great music

  • @99pnkflyd99

Underrated? Not by me! One of the greatest bands ever...

  • @greenirisheyes1967 Dominicwebb, what a wonderful story and im so sorry, you have a heart and i felt sad when i read your comment, such is life, the only sure thing in this life is we have to die. Keep going, thats what she would want.

  • Thirty years ago I was on the bones of my behind, no life left and I went in a pub and this was on the juke box. I turned round and met the new love of my life - and I never looked back. Lynn died three years ago. The music gave us a new life. Thank you. I`ll never forget that night.
