Things were up in the air, not even Greg Weisman knew what was the future of the show. So Marvel decided to scrap Spectacular and started on this series. -sigh- there you go. Get your facts strait.

They cancelled the show because Spectacular spider-man was too similar to the comic the new show is based off of. Ultimate spider-man was in the works before this series was cancelled that's why spider-man 4 was cancelled because a reboot was planned by someone else so they scrapped sm4 and the amazing spider-man was born.

But DC... eemmhh are more on the instrumental side than actual songs. So clearly Marvel has anyone beat by far cos they actually get Grade A bands to make their intros. E.g Bad City for Avengers which is Produced by fueled by ramen. Thats the same producer of top bands like Paramore, Gym class heroes, Panic at the Disco etc

I just had an interesting idea for season 3. It adapts the comic book storyline when Norman Osborn framed SpiderMan for a crime he didn't commit. Because practically everyone was looking for SpiderMan's ass in jail, Peter realized that he couldn't go out as SpiderMan anymore. So Peter invented four brand new superhero identities that he could temporarily use to fight crime. And one of those new identites was called Ricochet. What if he used Fancy Dan's old costume and name from this episode

@GabeRulezProductions Actually, no one for sure what happened in regards to the cancellation. The show was only officially canceled after Disney bought marvel, but some people say that it's because Sony gave the TV rights back to Marvel.

This show legally couldn't have continued. I mean, the fact that anyone thinks Disney cancelled the show is dead wrong. The Spectacular Spider-man was eaten up in red tape.

A shame...but the truth.

@GamerSlyRatchet1 Can't know that's possible without more facts. They could've been legally bared from using the same name. And they wouldn't have had the same design and production style. Because Doug and Futurama both still used the same production studios as before, Jumbo Studios and The Curiosity Company respectively. That wouldn't have been possible for Spectacular Spidey. Sony's own studio made it.

For all we know, could've just been more cost effective to start over fresh.

On the web their was a petition given out that said if a total of 1,000 people signed and reached the goal of 1,000 signatures then that would be proof that we the fans want and are willing to watch more of the Spectacular Spiderman

Marvel and the creators have yet to officially give a release date

but ... good news is we reached our 1,000 target .... only time can tell if they make one or not :)

Not yet, now that Disney owns Marvel and Sony now gives the Spider-Man rights back to Marvel, plus marvel also trying to keep up with the new X-men and Iron-Man show, it might take a while for a third season of "The Spectacular Spider-Man" But I can't wait because the show rocks, I think this is better than the 90s version and I used to LOVE that show.
