2007 Audi RS4

I don't know why these reviews of the RS4 avoid mention of its weight... It's very close to A4/S4 of the same years. Instead, they just repeat the horsepower figures over and over, make hokey jokes and toss in superlatives. How about skipping the silly-silly and telling us about the cars?

1 it's mfg by Quattro, so it's not a 'sport version' of A4 or S4. It's the Quattro-gmbh vers. ;)

2 it uses a lot of aluminum

3 the motor uses direct injection (FSI).

Yes that was the problem with mine though - No entertainment till 120mph....And far too heavy. 420 is not enough.

as an RS4 owner this comment about unstable under braking is ridiculous . . must have been faulty or a crap driver . . . I have found mine to be the best braking car I have ever owned . . stops on a sixpence from 100mph . . drove the new Mustang Boss 302 in states recently and I can assure you the Mustang cannot outbrake an Audi RS4. . . !

I looked into the RS4 when I was shopping for either the Sedan S or RS models and this is my own personal opinion:

The RS4 cost almost $20,000 more than the fully equipped S4 I purchased and I felt the difference in premium was not adequate for what you are getting on the RS model.

Also, one factor I'd like to mention is the insurance is already above average with the S model, but if you buy the RS is extremely expensive because of the high performance surcharges involved in the premium.

I think the B7 models were the best looking "4" to date. And I actually like the sound of the RS4 more than the newer RS5.

BMW's are not ideal for Sweden, we have "wet" or snowy wheather all year round, therefore 4WD makes more sence. If I was to live in e.g. Spain, no doubt the M5 is the car to drive. This with regards to price and availability compairing with RS6.

The video definitely pre-dates the R8; it was done in July of 2006, long before the R8 hit the market. Not sure why the caption was changed to 2007.

But note that the R8 won Automobile of the Year; and the RS4 never did. That means we agree with you guys.

And this is clearly not "Audi's best car ever" - that distinction would go to the R8. Unless this video precedes the production of the R8.
