Some of these kids at the start would ride them no problem if they pulled up a little harder and lock with they're heels. But they're trying, and thats where it starts!

@horselover9977 That was not Dylan. These were made when Dylan was only 5 yrs old and he only rode sheep! This was a compilation of rides that were made over the 2008 season by the boys in our club. The child at the end left by ambulance, he had his ear torn mostly from his head, but they sewed him up and he was fine!!

@ponytailaqha i cant say i blame ya lol! we have some three week old bottle calves and i put my 4 yr old on one - i was hold on to him of course - and he thought it was pretty funny. he also thought it was fun to ride on our pet LaMancha(she's such a big softy for kids, both human AND goat) But yeah i'm with ya. i think i can handle broncs better than bulls! ones as dangerous as the other but i dont think the broncs are as likely to trample you on purpose!

@stirling513 He would have had to been at least 14 yrs old. In our Rodeo club the age groups are as follows: 4-6 yr olds mutton bustin, 7-9 yr olds ride calves, 10-13 yr old ride steers, and 14-18 yr olds ride bulls.

This rodeo club is just north of Oklahoma City, about in the middle of Oklahoma. It takes about 3 1/2 hours to get to Miami Oklahoma and that is about as far NE as you can go before you cross over into Missouri! Depending on where you are in Arkansas, it could take 3 to 5 hours to get here. The new season will start in April and will last until Sept. They have 2 rodeo's one weekend a month on Friday and Sat night. You could come out on Friday and stay over til Saturday and make a weekend of it!!

I don't exactly agree with letting kids participate in Bull Riding but it is good to see them riding animals right for the child's size in most cases. And I must hand it to those 'officials' in the ring who can spot when the child is in danger and just pull them off. If the sport is going to continue with child involved it's good to see it done properly.
