DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO CLEAN A SEARS MODEL 200 TED WILLIUMS SPECIAL I DONT KNOW HOW TO TAKE THE FIRING SYSTEM OUT OF THE ACTION TO CLEAN! PLEASE HELP!
@Waynside It is identical to a Winchester 1200. I would Google either one of those names and in the Google search, ask for a manual. There will be one, I promise. In the manual you will find all the answers you are seeking. thanks. : )
@ChromeFreak123 thank you kind sir! i spent like two hours trying to figure out how to take this thing apart it was my first pump action shotgun field strip clean and this old girl was DIRTY!
@Waynside Glad you got it figured out. I will try and do some more shotgun disassembles. I will do them as used shotguns come in the store but most break down very similar. They are a few differences but not all that much. Thanks and now you will be able to do it every time. : )
@Shottacle Thank you for the kind words. The finish is called a Marinecoat, I will find out exactly what Mossberg calls it and let you know. Thanks. : )
@ChromeFreak123 i cleaned my mossberg exactly as you did and oiled it if i store it leaning against the wall in the cruiser ready position for home defence ready to grap rack shoot is there any negative i should worry about ? like rusting because its just out in the open room ? i mean gun damge etc not safety issues
@ben191209 For the most part yes. There are differences and older guns may take more lube but for the most part, they are all very similar. I would not treat a 40 year old gun the same as a new modern. I hope this helps and thanks. : )
Wish I had found this video weeks ago! I took my Mossberg apart after having not touched it for almost a year, for no real reason, and struggled a full afternoon trying to put it back together. Actually, I figured it out through trial by error and repeatedly messed it up, do you think I've ruined the gun, or are they pretty forgiving of rough treatment?
@goodnamestaken If you put everything back correctly, unless you bent parts or damaged them in any way, you should be fine but take it to the range and run it through its paces. let me know how it went. Thanks. : )
@ChromeFreak123 I've cycled a few rounds through it and it feels fine, but I just can't remember where I'm supposed to oil it! Will definitely let you know, thanks a lot for this vid I'm definitely saving this one.
@Iancwilliamson I do use grease with certain guns but not on my pump. I have a way I do things and I don't know really how to explain them to you . lol. I use grease on many of my guns but also do not use it on many.lol. Thanks, maybe a video will be in order to try and figure a way to explain how and why I do things. Thanks. : )
@PowerViolenceForever Not sure what you mean. I think grease is needed in certain areas and oil would be better in other areas but I never put oil and grease on the same part. Thanks for the input, I read all comments and all are welcome. : )
@ChromeFreak123 Hmm I was just wondering if it was a preference to use grease or oil. I figured you could use oil on the whole gun, but as you said you believe it's necessary to grease some and oil others. I have a mossberg500 and have always used oil, just making sure I'm doing it right.
@PowerViolenceForever It is a preference and some I prefer to oil and others grease. lol. Whatever you are comfortable with is good, as long as it is protected, That is the most important thing. Thanks brother. : )
@Dumak2 They came from the factory just like it is. I use to carry this on my boat, when I had one. lol. The sights are sweet, that is for sure and thank you. : )
I just bought my first firearm, a Mossberg 500. This video was informative and helpful, not boring as you kept saying. Thanks and please make more disassembly/reassembly videos like this one. Cheers
@MrGunoholic I am starting to use my Militec a lot more than the Ballistol. The Ballistol is great but it smells horribly and Militec is just as good if not better. IMHO. I would love to see it in a video bro... Congrats and thanks for commenting about it. : )
Oh man thanks for posting this Chrome I thought you had forgotten my request...as usual you rock...you are an asset to the gun enthusiast internet community!
hey i have a 500 and the pump seems to have some excessive play in it, it moves side to side quite a bit. The gun is new and has probably only had about 200 rounds through it. I have shot 3 other 500s and a 590 and neither of them do this. do you know what it could be? thanks
@tyler111991 I am not sure what would cause that, I will take a look at mine and see what the problem might be, maybe the action slides are not tight enough but I will get back to you on what I think it might be. I want you to know that it would be just my opinion because I am not an expert at all. lol. Thanks and talk to you soon.
@AkMenace13 I think it is time too, go and get yourself a nice one and then write me back and let me know what you picked up. lol. Thanks for the kind words. : )
@AkMenace13 It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a home defense shotgun or a hunting shotgun, plus others like skeet. lol. You see where I am going with this. If you want a good home defense tactical type shotgun, I would go for what you seen in my video, the Mossberg 590 or any of the 500 series from Mossberg is great. The Remington 870 is another mainstay shotgun. I would get a 12 gauge and run 2 3/4 inch shells in 00 buck. I could name a few more like the Benelli, homework, lol
I am having that same problem, I have a lot of videos I have missed because of this. I have been so busy I have not been making many but hope to be able to start doing 2 vids a week. Thanks for contacting me bro...
nice to see ya out there sooting...something is wrong with youtube i have you and krazy45cat and plenty of others that are not showing up in my subs page so i can't see when you make vids!
I shot my Mossberg 500 for about 12 years before I broke it down completely. Now, I didn't shoot it that much (maybe around 150-200 shells), but it still ran perfectly fine. When I did break it down to that level, there was a lot of gunk that had built up over the years. Those Mossbergs are great!
I have a mosberg mavrick, it is a good gun and cheap, i think of it as more of a beater gun i shoot it all the time and only clean it once a year, it has been abused its whole life and keeps on takeing it.
@SuperGhillie1 It is the way I do my shotguns but someone else might do theirs completely different. My way has worked great for me for years. Thanks.
@ChromeFreak123 thanks man!! just sucks building up my viewers again. I like the feedback from the videos, getting 40-100 views dont give me much. I keep checking though!! lol take it easy

@HellbillyCuntryMusic Nothing wrong with a little titty every now and then, hopefully more now. lol. The only answer I can give you is, it is on the agenda. i am working so much that I can't really plan anything. I will do it when I can. They are pretty similar though. Thanks.
@762Fanatic2 Thanks bro. and I plan on posting a few in the next couple of weeks with you shooting it, just wanted to make sure that was alright with you. lol.
