Two questions: Why did the A340 500 do all that Taxing at LAX if it landed on the same side it docked? It could be me but it looked like it taxied all around the airport. And second, how did you gain access to both the ground at SFO and LAX? Great video btw.
@510mexicana ..it never did, you're simply seeing one type of SQ A340 at SFO airport and another type at LAX. Nowhere is there an suggestion that it flew that route.
I duno but I heard Sia stopped this service n now ppl need to use 747s from Singapore to tokyo then la cause of rich ppl complaining of needing to be in business not first class in the a340 :(
Thanx for sharing this with us. It must have been thrilling being so close to the A345 (my personal fave A340), where you on the "follow me car" when taking that shot? She parked at the Bradly terminal right?
hoping to see more of such unique recording of airliners taxing. thanx again!
@hmasurg, hey thanks for all kind comments and ratings. Also taking the time to view so many of my vids (but for those of us who love planes--we can view all day as far as that goes). Well...if I was in the follow me car..I think we wouldn't be doing a great job riding beside the ship instead of infront of it lol. ; )
Yes, SQ A345s always park at TBIT. Fear not, there will be more unique recordings coming!
You're welcome and thanks for commenting (and watching)...and yes, you're right. the pilot was waving quite enthusiastically. But give then 10 min limit on Utube..I had to trim out quite a bit of footage.
Thanks for the comments BlueStar167, yes, I miss them too! Yes as you can see on touchdown...I had the EL AL 767 taking off and was trying to shoot it..but made a last minute decision to stick with the SQ A345 landing.
And thank you for all the GREAT videos you contribute for all of us to see!

@svscared ...thanks for watching.
To answer your question, all the taxiing was due to a water cannon salute in a designated area.
2) Would you broadcast to everyone 'on the internet' how 'you' got some real up-close dramatic shots?

Just want to know if SFO is built on a reclaimed land?
abeamarra 11 months ago
@abeamarra I believe some of the runway extensions are. But not the original airport layout before the 1960s.

Did SIA changed the 777-300ER service to SFO with the A340? or was this an old footage.. awesome vid btw!
db8gsr 2 years ago
Thanks. Yes the footage is older, SIA started service with the 747 to SFO, then the A340-300 (seen here) then to the current 777 service.

is there a non-stop flight by sia from singapore to sfo? because all i know is there is a flight from singapore to lax non-stop by sia using a345
seaboo143 2 years ago
Nom seaboo...the service to SFO was never a non-stop. And the A340-300s left SIA's fleet years ago.

What was a Singapore Airlines A340 doing in SFO? I thought Singapore Airlines only sends their 777-300ER to SFO now
