A cbr1000rr with a few grand put into it can do 197. It didn't look like 197, but I know it's possible. Why would the government limit them to 186 mph if they didn't really go that fast? Obviously they go faster then that or else there would be no need for a governor.

One other guy on here knows his shit, bikes at the Isle of Man TT ( superbikes which is a stock 1000 with all the mods you could dream of ) are going 200 plus on the Sulby Straight. Check it out if you don't know, absolutely amazing 37 and 3/4 miles on real roads. Also, it is going on right this weekend !

its not federal law. Its a gentlesman agreement between the big 4 to restrict the rising top speeds. Mechanically, All 2009 superbikes can and will pull red line in top gear to around to 190mph stock. A local 2009 gsxr1000 pulled redline at 196mph with the tre removed. Stock.

its crazy that the sensation of triple digit speeds in a car is greater than on a bike, as far as ive seen. ive only gotten my gixxer up to 160 so far, ive done 153 in the car
first off, a bone stock repsol will do 188mph, which is only limited to that because fuel cuts off.. its not that it runs out of torque, like a 600 which will just run out of torque, this bike also does have 40 shot of nitrous sprockets airfilter powercommander full titanium and carbon fiber exhaust.. so yes it will do 197.. take a ride on a ride on a real bike sometime... they would do that stock if the fuel didnt cut off..
the ecu cuts the fuel so inexperienced riders dont hurt the engine so it will cut until u lose like 1 mph then turn back on but turn back off again thats why you sometimes hear cars and bike "fluttering" especialy during a burout, drift cars do it a lot if u listen to them

Also the general phrase is 200hp for 200mph. Honda repsol hp 172, gsxr1000 hp 186, and zx10 200hp..Third the speedos are off by nearly 8% at top speed.. .and sprocket work eh? DO you know increasing rear sprocket size or decreasing front sprocket size does? Decreases speed and increases speedo error

what does the repsol have done to it? The bike will not do 197mph, even with full exhaust, air filters, fuel management, and even gearing!
