You gotta understand shtick...anything Brooks can milk for all it's worth. In other words, if you were swift you knew it was coming the first time you saw it and you still laughed! Like EYE-gore after Wilder repeated Franken-shteen so many times. You can't out-Marty Marty Feldman! Two things I can't help blurt out when someone is overbearing: Blücher and no fruit cup!
Actually 'Blucher' does not mean glue. Try a Google search on 'Young Frankentin Myth' and you'll learn
"Blücher (or Blucher) is just a German surname. It has no particular meaning as a
normal word in German and certainly does not mean "glue"! Turns out that director Mel Brooks was just having some fun with a classic cinematic "villain" gag from old melodramas."
I was always wondering if the horses were afrain of the name Blucher. For your info he was a Prussian general in the battle of Waterloo against Napoleon. Blucher's cavalry saved the day for the coalition but legend has it his horses were treated badly and frequently pushed to the brink of dying from exhaustion. The Prussian army was one known for capital punishment too and strict discipline.
So the horses therefore feared the very name Blucher?
Simply they feared Frau Blucher. The "glue" story is also a myth. The simplest explanation is that her evil makes the animals whinny at the very mention of her name.
That is the best face ever
