It's not because the actual shit is mainly marketing and not music, and the appearance for a commodity is almost everything (actually.. everything) that it would be the absolute criterion for judge if music is good or not ! Just look at the Pixies or Sonic Youth in the 80s-90s and so many bands and you'll see that they just don't fucking care about their clothes !
Patti has always been Patti no matter what. A real legend and they ara few and far between. Did she ever record this as I would love to hear a top quality version of it.
This is exactly why I love Patti so much - she knows just exactly what to cover. & agreed Kurt would've been proud, but I bet Patti was even prouder of this message in 1991... She revived Gloria and Land of a Thousand Dances and didn't do a lot more unless you think Because he Night is a great song.

Oh yes...Patty should be held in the highest reguard. Anyone who would speak ill of her is just ignorant and does not realize how stupid they sound making hurtful statements like that. She is a great American... musical innovator, humanitarian, and artist. A real artist. I love how she sings this song.....so soulful. Kurt was a big fan of hers as well.

Yes, that's because it's impossible to understand what the fuck he's saying and probably after several pathetic little fanboys and -girls ran up to her after the show and said "Those are the wrong words! Those are the wrong words! I have the 'Lithium' CD5 with the printed lyrics and that's not what he says!" and shoved a copy in her face she shrugged and learned that instead of what she could puzzle out from the record.
