it seems that waiting 5 minutes and sucking the blood out made for an inaccurate test. the pig looked to have been drained before the powder was inserted.
did the pig have a good recovery or did they have bacon and eggs following their long hard day in surgery. I would of went for the bacon and eggs! but thats me!!!
I don't understand. Why is there a higher mortality rate on subjects with the Standard Dressing AND a clotting agent, yet just a Standard Dressing has a much lower mortality rate? Seems like the opposite would be true.
Everlasting, the only problem with Celox is that its not a concentrated form, it might thicken the blood a little bit, but when we are talking about bleeding out in less than 2 minutes with blood spurting all over the place, you need something that will not only stop the bleeding, but will also cauterize the artery.
As the testing concluded the doctor said "well the test subject made it......... who's up for a piggy roast?" oh man i really wish i was there n.n quick clot is really great, just don't get it in your eyes though.. unless you want to go blind!
@EvIlducky5 Yeah but this is just intended for severe bleeding. It specifies on the package (at least mine) Moderate to Severe Trauma use. The QuikClot combat gauze is all you need for anything less, combined with regular medical supplies. But this stuff will save your life, and that's what counts.
@EvIlducky5 this is only used for severe bleeding....where were you for the first 30 seconds of the video..of course you arent going to use quick clot for a paper cut.
all you would have to do is apply it directly to the wound. It creates a chemical reation that thickens and stops bleeding. It would be diffucult to do in combat conditions, because the wound needs to be somewhat dry when applying it. Yes, you should be able to dry out the gunshot cavity and pour the quickclot to stop the bleeding.
There are other products than Quickclot that work as well. My father is on blood thinners, so I make sure that he always has some Celox around. It's pretty inexpensive for what it does at like fifteen bucks a pop.

Next time you hear some animal rights idiot going on about how evil animal testing is and how it can all be simulated by computers, show them this.

Say if I was shot in the arm or leg can I apply it directly to the wound or will I have to cut open my arm or leg and apply it at the bleeding?

Unless you have SEVERE bleeding I would suggest using a less painful form of bleeding control. Quick Clot tends to burn... A lot...
EvIlducky5 2 years ago 10
not anymore. theres daily quick clot sport that doesnt burn at all

@EvIlducky5
actually no, that was their old formula that caused an exothermic reaction and is not in use anymore
this is their new formula that works great and its totally safe to use

There's other products that do as well now, too. My father is on blood thinners, and I make sure he has some Celox around all the time.
