@scottwins2 What is your point? Even if it was 1/2 (which is very unlikely, more like 1/3) it is still like 0.001% of the world lol
Islam holds over 1.5 billion. Remember there is 1000 million in 1 billion. Islam is growing a lot faster than your church. So I dont see what you are getting at. Atheism is growing faster than your church too. In fact atheism is the fastest growing group in usa

@mylovemymoose If by "doomed" you mean that it's the most terrible thing for a church that preaches good will, serving others, loving each other, and finding ways to make life better for people inside and outside of it's faith to be spreading, then yes... we're terribly doomed.
Speaking to the annual Mission Presidents Training Seminar at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, President Packer took advantage of the opportunity to explain what happened last Sunday, when it was reported that he collapsed following the rededication of an LDS meetinghouse in Cambridge, Mass. He said there are two sets of steps one must negotiate in coming down from the stand at that meetinghouse. . .
And then cometh the judgment of the Holy One upon them; and then cometh the time that he that is filthy shall be filthy still; and he that is righteous shall be righteous still; he that is happy shall be happy still; and he that is unhappy shall be unhappy still.
Romans 3:10 - "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"
Well...except for Mormons.
Isaiah 64:6 - "But we are all as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses [are] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away"
Ephesians 2:8 - "By grace are you saved through faith"
.Romans 5:1 - "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ"
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
And all the nations that fight against Zion, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision; yea, it shall be unto them, even as unto a hungry man which dreameth, and behold he eateth but he awaketh and his soul is empty; or like unto a thirsty man which dreameth, and behold he drinketh but he awaketh and behold he is faint, and his soul hath appetite; yea, even so shall the multitude of all the nations be that fight against Mount Zion.
The conference concludes Sunday with a devotional in the historic St. George Tabernacle, built by Mormon pioneer settlers. Southern Utah University President Michael T. Benson and former Dixie State College President Douglas D. Alder are the featured speakers at the devotional, discussing southern Utah higher education and Mormon history.
Speakers include Elder Bruce C. Hafen, president of the St. George Utah LDS Temple and an emeritus general authority of the church. He is a native son of St. George. William MacKinnon, this year's president of the association, will give the presidential address discussing his perspective as "A Presbyterian Afoot in the Mormon Past."
The three-story brick structure, a renovated office complex at 745 23rd Street in Arlington, Va., is in a neighborhood heavily populated with LDS singles, near Crystal City and the Pentagon. Former creamery office administrator Kay Schaugaard and former pasteurizer Amy Moore, who are both Mormon, allege company co-owner and Chief Financial Officer Karen Olson made disparaging remarks about Mormons
@omiolo Is that you calling me a liar? OK then...I will give you a profound truth: The truth is that I want your false prophet exposed. I want your false gods torn down and buried in the rubble of your temples. I am not trying desperately to stop you...I am just taking a few opportunities to make you look stupid. You always take the bait. You arrogant dumbass. You self-righteous prick. Every time you comment the LDS look stupider. Keep it up numbnuts while the world watches you self-destruct.
@omiolo You call it "Spin" I call it opinion. (based on fact) You call it "Deception" yet you are one of the most deceived (and possibly deceitful) people at YT. Let's face it, I don't like you. You don't like me. I am cool with that. I think Mormons are wonderful people when they are not under the shadow of the Temple. You, however, are everything a good Mormon probably doesn't want to be. And yet you pretend to be the Great Defender Of The Faith? Well.... Hail to the Man. Sieg Joseph.

25 "Forasmuch as this people draw near unto me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their hearts far from me, and their fear towards me is taught by the precepts of men—"
Ahh.. another example of how a guilt and fear based religion offering people false hope can spread like wilfire if not stopped early on. What is so awefull about accepting the fact that we are just animals and when we die like every other species, we decompose and the circle of life goes on. There is no need for organized religion anymore. If people want to serve their fellow man then they should just do it. This is only a religion and can be used to do good or bad like every other religion.
Were any sick people healed? Was matter transcended and the Spirit of Life made manifest? If not, then you did not preach" the good news of the one who healed the sick, raised the dead, cleansed the lepers and casts out devils. Instead, you misrepresented the Lord of heaven and earth.
@THELDSLIFE those that write in 16th century english when they live in the 19th century shall forever be labeled charlatons and those that follow them fools.
@livinginoneness9 - are books speaking to you on a regular basis? (I see... whips out a pen and begins to write on a note pad...) Books...talking...to...him... very interested. What do other books say to you or is the Bible the only thing that speaks in this way?
@THELDSLIFE wow does that pass as wit where you come from? i dont really care for this digression i just find it hilarious how mormons use 16th century english that sounds all knowble because it was found in the King James Bible (when the practice of putting know at the end of sentances occured) to make people believe in the book of mormon as the bibles successor, even though that language had died out by 19th century America.
@livinginoneness9 - I love the 16th century English. It's quite dignified. Relics of a more faithful era of mankind. Not the godless sort which infests the world with its "eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die" mentality.
Remember this well. There is no Satan. It is not reasonable to believe that there is such a being.
These words of comfort ought to continue keeping you living the life of your choosing, a life without accountability. The void of never ending darkness awaits all at death!
@THELDSLIFE never ending unconciousness yes, darkness makes it sound like your in a locked room with no windows you cant get out of forever, i thought you were LDS or is this some strange attempt at sarcasm with no punchline. I like the live life like you'll die tommorow menality, it just is the best because your living life how you want to live it and whats wrong with that. you could say its detremental to society but nobody really takes it on 100% it just gets you saying yes to fun things.
@livinginoneness9 - Sounds like you've found yourself. I suppose I have YET to do that. The ability to ignore the eternal call of destiny and an existence lasting eons and eternities after I shed this mortal body is YET to be a state of mind that I have been able to adopt.
Even in physics, we learn that energy can never be destroyed... that energy, which makes up Josh, will continue to live on as well as the consciousness and intelligence. I have just chosen now how I'll be spending forever as.
@THELDSLIFE True which means applying infinite monkey theorum all the atoms that make up you will reassemble at some point making another you but being another animal or forest or star that doesnt remember i had this existance before doesnt scare me it's just life and i enjoy life im glad i am, once you've answered to be or not to be you've succeded in finding yourself.
@THELDSLIFE "...for those who reject this glad message"... Glad Message? ~We can all be gods? Isn't that what Satan told Adam and Eve in the Garden? Genesis 3:4-5 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Under Joseph = Law Under Jesus = Freedom What Glad Message does Joseph have that Satan didn't have first? Joseph's Message is a deadly path.
@hammerogod - Don't quit there. Keep reading..... Genesis 3: 22 - ¶And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: - So by partaking of the fruit we DID become as one of them (capable of knowing both Good and Evil) but also our potential to become like our heavenly parents would be set forth thanks to the savior by obedience to the laws of God = Jesus
At times humor can be appropriate, but be careful; it's sacrament meeting, not stand-up comedy. Sometimes speakers find the congregational chuckle intoxicating, and the talks can take on a tone that is either sarcastic or witty, but certainly irreverent as they are seeking the next chuckle.
4. Use humor sparingly, if at all. Public speakers often use a humorous anecdote to begin their addresses. Something about a congregational chuckle can give confidence to the speaker and pique interest in the address. Good things, right? Also, President Gordon B. Hinckley was always good for one-liner, and President Thomas S. Monson has thousands of stories that make everyone smile.

President Monson Breaks Ground for Rome Italy Temple
Construction has begun in the "eternal" city for a new Latter-day Saint temple. Thomas S. Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints along with Church and local community leaders, participated in the traditional groundbreaking ceremony for the Rome Italy Temple 23 October 2010.
When the Lord told the Jaredites he would lead them to a new land (Ether 2:7), he also instructed them to build eight barges to traverse the waters to their new destination (v. 16).
According to Ether, these barges, which were patterned after Noah's Ark (6:7), were "tight like unto a dish," peaked at both ends and had holes that could be unplugged to allow ventilation (2:17, 20).
"The Father will not leave us alone during the quizzes and tests of life if we do what pleases Him. If you take time — even today — to think of the things that please the Father and walk accordingly, I promise you will not be left alone. You will be moving in the right direction in your process to become Christ-like. It is in the doing that you will get to know the Lord in an even more profound way."
As individuals follow the Savior by learning, listening and walking, they are able to be successful in the curriculum of the school of life and do what their Father in Heaven wants them to do, Elder Gonzalez taught. Because the Savior always does the will of the Father, it is his desire for individuals to do the same.
"The Lord commanded us to do those things that He did. Are we taking time then, to stop and look around to find that one person who needs our help? Are we looking for the one individual in the campus hall, in the store, in the ward, in your family? If you look around, you will find roommates, family members, friends, and others who are in need of comfort."
Elder Gonzalez gave examples of the Savior's life and how individual's can emulate Him in their own lives. One way individuals can look to the Savior is through caring for the one, Elder Gonzalez said.

@omiolo it's really not from a hateful place at all, its just so sad knowing that if almost 13 million people can believe such an obvious fraud in the 21st century, you start to see how easy power can be abused.
@livinginoneness9 actually Joseph Smith endured torture and all manner of hardships and had 11 EYE witnesses. You have what? conjecture? Wishful thinking?
@omiolo yea cause that has any relevance whatsoever, people have undergon torture for far dummer stuff, and its not like he could have lied to all of 12 people.
the burden of proof isn't on me, it's on you and the facts show, its not possible for all the made up history of the americas in the book of mormon to take place and leave no archealogical evidence and no eastern ancestry of the native americans.
@omiolo i just explained how it's impossible for the book of mormon to be truth, i hardly think that's grasping at straws. Make relevant sentances BEFORE you type on your keyboard!
@omiolo no the FACTS that back it up make it so: consession by the isreali school of jewish archeology given every motive to find evidence for the old testement to come back empty handed and admit the story of the exodus, the wandering, the conquest of canan and all the rest of it was a complete fabrication.
the society for american archeology having undertaken thousands of archeological diggings, and publishing these in 100s of journals proving conclusivly there was no society of "lemonites".
what does that have to do with the Book of Mormon. BTW, has ANYONE found ANY evidence that King David existed? He is the CENTRAL Jewish character. What about GIANTS? Science has CONCLUDED that there were NEVER giants!
@omiolo im glad to hear you accept the old testement to be bullshit as it is considered part of the official canon of scripture for the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints. so now we're getting somewhere.
What are your thoughts on the society for american archeology having undertaken thousands of archeological diggings, and publishing these in 100s of journals, proving there was no lemonite societies or great battles mentioned in the book of mormon.
@livinginoneness9 I realize in your world that PROFANITY is commonplace. However, we are Mormons and as such we try and keep EVERYTHING we do family oriented. In fact we worship a God who says, "suffer the children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of heaven"
Refrain from PROFANITY and VULGARITY when doing ANYTHING associated with Mormon Christians.
im glad to hear you accept the old testement to be false as it is considered part of the official canon of scripture for the mormon church. so now we're getting somewhere.

@omiolo Sorry, I thought when you were agreeing that science has found no evidence for anything in the old testement occuring you were accepting that it didnt. That is the natural conclusion most people would draw from that.
@omiolo ok good, so just so i understand fully; even though everything we know about history and science proves contrary to the scriptures of the book of mormon you still choose to believe them, and why is that exactly?
@omiolo your reply was "nope" conferming your disregard for evidence being to the contrary of mormon scripture, i replyed asking you why it is you believe something that didnt happen according to science.
@omiolo you're actually a child, you know you cant win in a real debate so you're repeating one word over and over, i feel very sorry for you. while i make plans to cycle around europe to live life to the full, you think you're going to live forever so you waste your life finding out anything vaguely related to joseph smith.
@omiolo I'm done with you. You're right i believe if entire warring civilisations existed archeologists would have found out about it, therefore im full of nonsense and sing la la la to anyone who says anything differently. Enjoy you're life obsession with a fraud. I'll spend my time trying to make as many genuine connections with non-lunies as i can while i travel the world getting the most out of reality.
The public is invited to tour the recently renovated Laie Hawaii Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the first temple constructed outside the continental United States.
The First Presidency of the Church has announced a public open house that will run from Friday, 22 October 2010, until Saturday, 13 November 2010, excluding Sundays. The temple will be formally dedicated on Sunday, 21 November 2010. A total of three dedicatory sessions will be held.
@mosulaman - Excuse me, but... Silence on intimate matters is a killer. Not being able to verbally express EVERYTHING you desire with absolute comfort, or being ignorant about your own preferences, or your partner rediculing you for them. That destroys marriages every time. You can count on it. Now is that God's will? When your mission is over, these words will be useful to you.
I'm LDS. Our ward's missionaries are so hot!! I'm etremely submissive, so I have rape fantaises. Especially about them! I tend to skip church a lot, but... I think a couple of naughty mishies (or perhaps an entire gang of them?) need to break into my bedroom while I'm sleeping and ravish me every time I come to church on Sundays. Maybe I would go more often if they did that! lol.
@mosulaman -- Oh calm down. I only ACTUALLY act out such play with a person I know, love and trust. I don't condone the real thing. Everyone has something wierd they like. No exceptions. Anyone who claims they don't, is either a liar, or has difficulty expressing that side of themself.
@mosulaman okay little lady but rape fantasies thats something you should keep to yourself im about to serve my mission and thats something that should not be said but suit yourself
@mosulaman -- Silence? Never again. I know what its like to be in a serious, committed relationship for years on end. I've learned that silence on ANY intimate preference is a killer-- not being able to verbally express EVERYTHING you desire with absolute comfort, or being ignorant about your own preferences, or your partner rediculing you for them-- that destroys marriages every time. You can count on it. Now is that God's will? When your mission is over, these words will be useful to you.

@ImNotAlone100 you know fantasies like that could be considered to be against the law of chastity. the law of chastity includes thought not just the actual physical act. watch yourself
@Aknight292 -- Nonsense. You cannot stop a thought. Maybe you can tame it after it has come into your mind... But you cannot stop it from randomly popping into your head in the first place. Besides, DREAMS are our thoughts too, they come from our subconcious mind, something that is in our head, but finally roams free when we are mentally relaxed. And look how freaky and weird EVERYONE's dreams are! Are we going to be punished for everything strange we dream about, because it was our thought?
@ImNotAlone100 its called controlling your thoughts and it can be quite easy to do. you're just stupid and dont want to stop it. the keyword with dreams is subconciously, you're not held accountable for what you dream in your sleep. but you are for what you fail to control in a concious state. you obviously have failed to control you concious thoughts and therefore could pay the price for it. you've got some growing up to do
@MrBronbron your comment makes little sense. Do some research it was until around 370 AD that it became officially the Catholic Church. I realize you desperately want to be right, even appear to be educated. However, the BEST way to do that is to educate yourself.
While some want to credit a specific "believing gene," Poelman said she favors the idea of spiritual instinct, or the light of Christ, which is given to everyone.
Yet despite a desire to believe, it's not always easy, she said, referencing the Bible story in Mark, where a father brings his ill son to the Savior and asks that he be healed, then tearfully pleads, "Lord, I believe, help thou my unbelief."
"We are fortunate indeed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ to give us a foundation from which we can be free to fly, investigate and ask, because as we know, all truth is circumscribed into one great whole and there is no difference between science and religion," she said Friday at the LDS Life Science Research Symposium, sponsored by BYU.
@MrBronbron you are rewriting history. Obviously you have NOT studied Constantine's life. Yet, you persist. So therefore I must conclude you are either willfully deceiving or just plain IGNORANT. Either way, debating anything of significance with you would be foolish on my part.
Mormons are encouraged to stock several months of food, as well as a 72-hour emergency kit with food and clothing for each family member, in case of hard times or natural disasters
Kinner and hundreds of other volunteers from the six Mormon congregations in Winnipeg plan to spend Saturday morning picking up canned food and non-perishable items from a dozen Winnipeg neighbourhoods.
In the meantime, he is busy at work each day, preparing for the nearly 6,000 audience members who come to see the pageant each night. The Allen family, include his parents and three siblings — Lindsay, 15, Brett, 12, and Becky, 8, — are planning to be at the final performance Saturday, July 17.
MANCHESTER, N.Y. — Brock Allen sets off fire balls and shoots water canons. And if the 18-year-old does his job right, the audience won't notice him or the other 26 teenagers on the Hill Cumorah Pageant work crew who come from across the country to spend four weeks in upstate New York.
@MrBronbron you believe in the PAGAN god, one forced on Christianity by the pagan emperor Constantine. You have been deceived and it makes you unhappy. Now REPENT.

will be the largest, most authoritative published collection of

project has a relatively simple aim: to make available essential
sources for the study of early Mormon history and of Joseph
Smith--the church president and prophet, the city builder, the civic

So...Utah is now Zion?
Oh you poor fool.
You poor deluded fool.
David captured Zion from the Jebusites..it became "The City of David"...Later Jerusalem.
The hill upon which the Temple sat is called "Zion"
The Ark of the Covenant was there and anyone who fights against God's covenant will be cut off.
Joseph created a new Covenant and he will surely be cut off.
Proclaiming that Jesus is dead or that God was once a man is death and against any Covenant that God inspired.

No matter how many red dots are on the map there are only about 13 million Mormons.
A marginal group at best.
2010 stats and demographics put the total number of "active" adult Mormons at about 7 million.
A lot of the Pacifica, U.S. and Asian Mormons are still listed as members but left the Church within months of joining.
Mormon growth was nearly exponential in the 90's but has dropped down to about the same as the Jehovah's Witnesses growth.
Which means no real growth at all.

Ahh.. another example of how a guilt and fear based religion offering people false hope can spread like wilfire if not stopped early on. What is so awefull about accepting the fact that we are just animals and when we die like every other species, we decompose and the circle of life goes on. There is no need for organized religion anymore. If people want to serve their fellow man then they should just do it. This is only a religion and can be used to do good or bad like every other religion.

At times humor can be appropriate, but be careful; it's sacrament meeting, not stand-up comedy. Sometimes speakers find the congregational chuckle intoxicating, and the talks can take on a tone that is either sarcastic or witty, but certainly irreverent as they are seeking the next chuckle.
omiolo 1 year ago
4. Use humor sparingly, if at all. Public speakers often use a humorous anecdote to begin their addresses. As individuals follow the Savior by learning, listening and walking, they are able to be successful in the curriculum of the school of life and do what their Father in Heaven wants them to do, Elder Gonzalez taught. Because the Savior always does the will of the Father, it is his desire for individuals to do the same.

Not being able to verbally express EVERYTHING you desire with absolute comfort, or being ignorant about your own preferences, or your partner rediculing you for them. That destroys marriages every time. You can count on it. Now is that God's will? When your mission is over, these words will be useful to you.

Build a three-month supply of food based on their regular diet by buying a few extra items each week, and then rotating stock to avoid spoilage.
Storing water in sturdy containers, such as plastic pop bottles or juice jugs.
Saving a little money weekly to build a financial reserve.
Gradually building a long term supply of wheat, white rice and beans which can be stored for up to 30 years if kept in a cool, dry place.

@MrBronbron Sounds like you want to be judge, jury and executioner. That ALL just sounds very self serving to me.

They are charged with the safety of the 700 cast members as well as running the 12 light towers and creating all the special effects.
Specifically, Allen is part of the "ground crew." In addition to making water and fire fly, they hoist the enormous sail for Lehi's boat.

Now REPENT.
