  • Since the Steve Austin injury, the WWE allows 2 wrestlers and 2 wrestlers only to perform any kind of pile driver (unless given special permission)- The Undertaker and Kane (due to their size, experience, and good technique). Honestly though, as impressive as this move looks, it's one of the safer forms of the pile driver because of the way in which the opponent is held up and prevented from hitting the mat, as long as the wrestler has the strength to hold the opponent up.

  • @tarison13 if you look at early undertaker the original wwf tombstone driver hits the head on the mat and back of the neck.

  • Really someone whos a seasoned veteran like Kevin Steen doing the package piledriver is probably safer than alot of wrestlers doing something as simple as a suplex, Ive never really heard many accounts of Steen injuring someone doing this move (although I may be wrong, if so someone please elaborate)

  • Some variations of piledrivers are some of the safest moves, unless someone is a dick or inexperienced with doing/taking the piledriver if you notice with most piledrivers the only thing that hits the canvas are the legs/thighs of the guy doing it. Also, it helps to be a big guy, take Undertaker for example 6 foot 10, he can do them with ease.

  • @xXxTheDeadOnexXx1

you also have to understand, most of the small circuit wrestlers are used to doing matches with the same people ALOT more than the wwe roster. When you wrestle the same person alot, you get to know their rhythm and can trust them with moves like this.

Same thing for the Japanese, except the reason is most of the stables of training are AT LEAST at the Hart foundation level of technical consistancy, so you can expect them to be able to nail it every time.

  • @xXxTheDeadOnexXx1 So you want their wrestlers to get injured and make wwe bankrupt?

  • Mix of tombstone piledriver and pedigree.

  • wait till my little cousin finds out i learnt this move

  • his head never even passed his lower abdominals, its almost like the greeting from asbury park by Bam Bam Bigelow

  • To not injure his opponent with such a move, that's truly the mark of a professional

  • @MeLikePoopies I completely agree. This move was spot on, but if you pay close attention, the wrestler performing the move on his opponent PROTECTED his opponent very well (Opponent's head never touched the mat, and his neck was safely protected.). This is a very dangerous move, but it was safely executed and well done. This is how wrestler's should look out for one another.

  • @ssjevilryu The thing is that few wrestler are able to never botch a piledriver. Guys like Steen and the Undertaker have perfected their move to never kill anyone. How many guys would you trust to take this move from.

  • @Rickymexmex Like you mentioned, guys that you can trust and know what they're doing. Am I saying a move like this is called for in every match? No, not all because that would take away from the "drawing power" of the move. However, if someone like the Undertaker suggested this to me, I wouldn't mind taking the bump because the man knows how to protect a wrestler. As matter of fact, the Piledriver itself isn't done that much anymore because newer guys don't know how to protect each other.

  • @ssjevilryu Finally two people on youtube agree on something in a civil manner :)

  • and I would not want to be on the receiving end of that.

  • Fuck @roadbowler74 I've been on the receiving end of a package piledriver and it shattered two vertebrae in my spine. Moves like that are entirely possible to hurt someone.

  • @TheWolfMCWA where do you think a promotion should draw the line?

i mean, in training gyms do they make you prove you can do these moves alot? With any other talent? When I see Leznar superplex Bigshow, i know its because show trusted Lez's strength to get him over. How do you trust the other guys?

  • @themadmallard you have to have some serious trust in the guys that do these moves. they practice them time after time, one after another, until both giver and receiver are confident that the move can be executed correctly. if one or the other aren't 100 percent with it, they go with something else. promotions themselves should be keeping a watch on the wrestlers, but at the same time trust them to police each other. it's a bit of give and take on all sides.

  • For WWE, they want absolutely no risk for a lethal move that could be botched. Not necessarily the fault of the person DOING IT, but also the person receiving it. The Styles clash honestly looks like a very unbotchable move. There is a vid out there where Kazarian takes it in TNA, but he doesn't swing with the move, so AJ ends up hitting Kaz's head with it.

  • eneyone could see why they would ban that move its so.....FAKE

  • Even the basic piledriver is banned in WWE. If any of you cunts were wrestlers-- Guess what? I am. Come see me at a show at Rodz' place, NYC. --You'd know why. Even if done perfectly, piledrivers are so easy to screw up. The tombstone is much easier because of the weight and height distribution; it's easier to get the desired look by tipping a little forward so the receiver actually lands on his upper back. Given both, taken both. Tombstone is way less frightening on both ends. Shut up.

  • @GAKIIIIIN well not quite banned...Lawler uses one in his occasional matches, but since Owen Hart botched a tombstone on Steve Austin (Austin was never the same in the ring after that), only Undertaker and Kane can use a tombstone and both do so sparingly, usually opting for chokeslams.

  • @DPMomutant Owen hart did a sit out version of the tombstone piledriver which makes it look like a reverse piledriver. The Undertaker and Kane do the kneeling version of the tombstone piledriver.

The difference being, the kneeling piledriver leaves much more room for the top of the head to not hit the mat. The reason that Kane doesn't do it is the fact that it is the Undertakers move.

  • wtf? even tombstone piledriver is more dangerous than this.. you can see his head never touches the mat

  • @OPatrao Yes, but what if you botch the move? The guy gets dropped right on his head and possibly breaks his neck.

  • @saiyanblade84 the only one who can botch the move is the guy that's gonna be hitted because he should put his chin on his chest.. but i'm not sayin' that you're wrong, accidents happen ahahah :p

  • lol @ the creator of the video thinking this is banned from every promotion

  • ladies and gent, "MR. Wrestling" Kevin Fu*king Steen

  • @ggwstar uhhh, when did I say that??

  • @ggwstar well, if Punk was always wrestling Christian then, yes you have a point. Unfortunately one person can't pull off these moves by himself.

  • Investment if I worked there I'm not going to be someone's investment I be a wrestler a real wrestler

  • The 'reason' WWE don't allow moves like this is because they are not what you would call safe. One slip and the guys got a shattered neck. The WWE simply cannot afford to take these kinds of risks with their Superstars, especially considering the money involved in spotlighting and pushing their talent as well as paying them for the time they spend out injured. The WWE looks to protect their investments as much as possible and that means prohibiting moves likely to cause serious injury.

  • @Jstinger WWE is also a public figure company. Imagine how it would look if a wrestler got his neck shattered on live TV wrestling. Some already see wrestling as violent even through the PG Era. A shattered neck would be elephant shit hitting an industrial fan.

  • @Jstinger That's humorous because anyone who's ever been in the ring before knows the package piledriver is more safe than any other version of the move.

  • @TimotheusBarbane it might be alright if your spike dudley. its banned because if you can't hold the guy like he does in the vid, then his career or life is over. the wwe has 300lb stars you possibly can't even lift without team work. so mabe you should get in the ring and see if its so safe?

  • @Jstinger daren drozdoff is a prime example. broken back/neck, now quadraplegiec.

  • @jamie69alltime Droz was not injured by a pile driver or any other move that the WWE has banned. That was a botched running powerbomb at the hands of D'Lo Brown. A move which is still permitted in the WWE.

  • @Jstinger While what you say is true theres moves I see done regularly on WWE/TNA TV which could be alot more dangerous than something like a tombstone piledriver,

  • Wow the issue here in my opinion would be all the weight is on the preformers upper body an can get no help from the guy getting pile drived. Just looks risky for a slip or drop

  • in the words of joey styles.....OH MY GOD!!!!!

  • There's no faking that impact.

  • i can c y its banned get hit by that u need more than an ice pack

  • hell, that looks safer than other versions of the piledrivers, there's no reason that should be banned, as for the WWE being taken seriously, that's some major bullshit.

  • fuck a band don't blame the professional blame the person stupid enough to think that this cool to perform in publice every person is responsible for their own actions and will pull a Lebron James and blame others for their own ignorance.

  • where do they pick up this kind of behaviour, parents maybe?

  • keep pressing 2

  • Comment removed

  • @roadbowler74 Uhh

Anyone can botch a move (especially a piledriver) and injure someone. Owen Hart and SCSA are considered two of the best and even they both botched moves resulting in an injury to someones next

  • @roadbowler74 For the most part true, but some people can do both. But yes I agree, generally they are either one or the other.

  • @roadbowler74

they've got Daniel Bryan, they`ve got CM Punk. the Kings Of Wrestling are going there.

they have guys who can wrestle.

  • @roadbowler74 CM Punk can wrestle and he's entertaining...

  • @edrummer49 Funny thing is C M Punk was a better wrestler before he joined the WWE ...... now hes a better Entertainer. ""It's the WWE way" (Ask HHH he said Punk couldn't wrestle the WWE way when punk 1st started even though Punk had great crowd heat).

  • @roadbowler74

pro wrestlers are entertainers you twat.

  • @roadbowler74 No. That's completely false. Many people from promotions who use these types of moves make their way to the WWE (there's a lot, not naming them all.) They choose not to do these types of moves because of the liability.

  • There's always the risk of botching, a great technical masterpiece could break someone's neck with this because they can't guarantee that the victim'll be safe.

WWE banned the move because they can't really risk hurting some of their top draws, like John Cena. I'm not saying that in a mocking way, John Cena is their biggest income, they need him.

  • @roadbowler74 Indy wrestlers wrestle once a week or every two weeks if they're lucky.

WWE stars wrestle 4-5 times a week. You can't have someone doing a piledriver that often.

  • @Sneezlebob wtf wwe stars wrestle about once a week if theyre main event hell tna do anytin there amazing wwe dont do shit

  • @FALLENFORFISH Wrestle once a week?

You clearly don't know what houseshows are. WWE has around 4-5 live events (including TV) in a week.

  • @roadbowler74 And who are you?

  • @roadbowler74 Bullshit. You're a typical Internet Wrestling idiot. You know nothing. These moves are dangerous. They don't want broken necks like Austin in 97 or even worse like Darren Drozdov who hasnt walked in over ten years you fucking cretin

  • that looked perfectly safe

  • It ought to be banned from every promotion, period. Jesus, LOOK at that move, there is literally NO way to protect the neck or head.

  • @SSVCloud There is go look Herbie14f channel go down and you see how they protect with Piledriver´s and things like that or how to do a move without getting pain. It´s called wrestling secret´s exposed or something like that.

  • @SSVCloud if you do it like he did it, the guys back actually hits steens stomach for the initial impact, then the shoulders and neck hit his legs with a lesser impact. still a dangerous move, but no where as bad as it looks.

  • Not banned in TNA or ROH. Only WWE baned it.

  • While a move like that looks great when it's done well, I don't blame the major promotions for banning it. Regular piledrivers are dangerous enough.

Think about it, Owen Hart, a true professional of the highest caliber, almost paralyzed Steve Austin for life with a piledriver. If a guy like him, can have an accident like that, it can happen to anyone...

  • @zTiamaTz Um, no. Owen Hart, while a professional, botched all the time. So it's not like it was a surprise that he would be the one that nearly paralyzed Austin as he's nearly paralyzed a whole bunch of other wrestlers as well.

  • He does his package piledriver like that all the time

  • I don't get it. That was perfect. They nailed it. No one is hurt, and it looks like they are. Good show chaps. Oh yeah... Fuck WWE

  • @Corpsealanche its because its dangerous move

  • I would let Kevin Steen piledrive me, he is one of the best out there, today!

  • ALL 2 MAJOR PROMOTIONS?

  • @buckbumble come on now, 1 major promotion, tna is bush league

  • buce finisher

  • The only wrestling moves you need are the armBAR and the ARMbar.

  • @Adiorocks949 i dont get it. sorry

  • @ThekLiMpF

    Kay.

  • @Adiorocks949 explain to me please.

  • @Adiorocks949 it's shame only 62 ppl got this

  • @DarkMurderer38

Can you PLEASE Explaint it to me

lol I really didn't get it

  • @KMMALQWM check this vid and you'll get it /watch?v=fUcTHmZ9luY

  • the move is banned cause there is no way for the person to take the hit even some what safely there is no way to protect the head and neck. its simlar to the sit out tombstone piledriver owen hart did on steve austin that broke his neck.

  • よくこんにちはどのようにすべてがうまくことを望むです OHHHHHHHHHHHH 1, 2 ,3 PIN

  • ... NOT BANNED

  • I will pile drive top rope turnbuckle to the outside announce table!!!!!!!

  • head no touch the ring

  • Best Piledriver i've seen

  • Dazzling Dick Durnin from around here in New Brunswick does that move. Pretty sick.

  • Who's on the receiving end in this video?

  • About as dangerous as a tombstone, don't see why it's banned

  • @VoorkJTV its killed 3 people

  • @rupra92 LOL

  • No piledriver is dangerous, as long as it is done properly.

  • @Cidaldragon every move in wrestling is dangerous exspecilly the piledriver done right or not

  • Every move in wrestling, when done right, should cause little or no permanant damage to your opponant otherwise, If done incorrectly, it will cause serious harm to your opponant. Stiff wrestlers would aim to injure but wrestlers with half a brain know it would be stupid to put a guy out making you money.

  • @Cidaldragon i know im training to become a wrestler all i was saying was no matter what the moves are dangerous if done right the opponent wont be hurt but its still dangerous

  • Take advice from me: Everything in wrestling is Dangerous.

  • @Cidaldragon i know im a wrestler i should know

  • Even if you are a wrestler you don`t know everything about the buisness, that is a naive comment.

  • @Cidaldragon i dont know whats so naive about it im agreeing with u every move in wrestling is DANGEROUS!

  • "I am a wrestler I should know" that expresson made me think you thought you have already experienced everything wrestling has to offer.

  • @Cidaldragon oh no i was just saying that becuase i know that all the moves are dangerous i havnt experienced alot though

  • that is a cool move.

  • Love this move. It's actually incredibly safe. The key to a piledriver is getting your head pressed in tight and being cradled well by your opponent. This is a solid little move.

  • when i get into a fight at school ima so use that move

  • @swantar66 good luck if you accidently murder him

  • Now THAT is a finisher!

  • Didn't they had to make a safer version because of the incident with Owen Hart injuring Steve Austin using a piledriver on WWE (WWF at the time)?

  • @Gatz22 No, they kept using piledrivers for years after that. It wasn't until HHH almost got his neck broke by...Kane, maybe? that the piledriver ban went into place. Which is weird, because Taker/Kane still use the Tombstone piledriver, and that's the one that hurt Austin (but it was a sit-out version, way more dangerous) and HHH.

  • @Dockktor the only performers in the wwe allowed to use any version of a piledriver are undertaker and kane.

  • @pottsypedigree

Jerry Lawler's allowed to use it aswell the rare times he wrestles.

  • I imagine your ass better tuck that head in as your landing or your gonna have one hell of a sore neck the next day if you dont get broken down with it!

  • Personally, I think the piledriver ban is stupid. The german suplex has less room for error than the piledriver does. at least you can reherse the move, but a german suplex is too unpredictable. the way i look at it, if the opponent knows how to take it, then by all means do it; its a spectacular looking move.

  • @evilmidget I thought it was banned only in WWE because of the PG crap

  • @Gatz22 You're a fucking idiot.

  • @manicmacintosh Whats your problem?

  • banned but not from ROH

  • Kevin steen used it on tyler black a while ago in roh

  • fuuuuuuck... damn that move is fucking sick.... damn i have to do that to someone, lmao shit looks devastating.

  • I used this move on TV just last week!

I guess I should expect a phone call........

  • dumbass

  • @abrim02 fuckin idiot.

  • i do a triple rolling piledrive but this is so awesome but deadly

  • why?

  • the move is actually not banned anymore they prefected a way to make sure it does no damage ... one of th guys a i work with uses it

  • fucking awsome!

  • he didnt black out, he moved his arm -.- fail sport

  • I can see why, paralizing and deadly

  • PW3ND

  • look the referee...

    totaly g@y^^

  • This isn't band anywhere but WWE. cause WWE is lame.

  • You work for the WWE? Oh man, whats it like?

  • @campKILLer it was okay for me i worked there for like seven months, but they ban sooo many moves nowadays i work in mexico and dragon gate now

  • Holy shit.Your.Juventude Gurrera.....One of the greatest high flyers ever......Howve u been man????

  • @ECWHavoc ive been fine cant complain ive been wrestling in mexico and japan, and ive been doing some vids and some music while im off so its been good

  • @musicismyfavorite777 You mean WWE works every day haha

  • i know they banned chairshots tlc matchs are ruined and edge lost his hardcore finisher cause he cant do con-chair-tos

  • @musicismyfavorite777 Yeh i agree, we need more head injuries so we can have more people like Chris Benoit.

  • watch the move genius, his thighs block his head from hitting that mat that hard, if at all.

  • @fapnoob so because one guy did something dumb that means everyone is going to do it? obviously he's being protected or else they wouldn't do the move. Also keep in mind that Benoit was a steroid abuser and very religious...

  • @baseballplayah63 Benoit never took steroids he died high Impact wrestling

  • @Tanley25 That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life. He took steroids like a fiend. He went apeshit because of the brain damage, not the steroids, for sure but he definitely did a ton of drugs.

  • @baseballplayah63 Yes he is protected ffs.I agree 100 percent

Before every match they practice the moves 100 times.

  • @LoganWolveriness Wrestlers dont practive moves 100 times before a match.

At an indy show a lot of the time you won't know the person you're wrestling and have very little time usually to go over a match.

They dont spend their entire time practicing one move with the guy they're facing

  • @Sneezlebob Yes but they are trained for dangerous moves.

  • @baseballplayah63 maybe you are confusing Benoit with Guerrero because I don't ever remember Benoit talking about God.

  • @salmonmachine I could be wrong, but I thought it was said that he was a very religous person as well

  • @salmonmachine come to think of it, when he kileld his family he placed bibles next to them. So yeah he was religious

  • @baseballplayah63

-Based on Joey Styles saying "OH MY GODDD," would that make his religious. He mentioned God.

-While having sex the other night...the woman I was pleasing kept on shouting "GOD DAMN IT!!! Would that make her a Godly women?

  • @baseballplayah63 "Benoit was a steroid abuser and very religious..." murder suicide

  • if U Think This In Crazy Watch mine!

  • Kevin Steen scares me.

  • @creedstruth what would he do, he's holding him upside down by his legs. the move makes perfect sense, it shifts the weight and makes the opponent way easier to lift.

  • How long do you think he should not fight while in mid air upside down....

  • @creedstruth i guess the litteral 2 seconds that it took should suffice

  • adding the stun before the pile driver for a good 4-6 seconds of doing absouletely nothing.

  • There's no need for moves like that in the major promotions.

The tombstone is quite a steady move, theres not a lot to go wrong but even that mover has looked a little nasty at times.

Piledrivers are so dangerous I don;t like to see them. Give me a good DDT anyday

  • all piledrivers are banned in wwe and tna. only people like the undertaker are permitted to use it.

  • people giving the thumbs down stop coz its true. not in tna but in wwe only people with atleast 10 years wrestling experience can use a standard piledriver but no one can use a package piledriver

  • @CMSpida thank you. i heard they were banned in tna as well.

  • erick youngs finisher is a piledriver

  • i no thats y i sed not in tna

  • DEAD... HEADSHOT... GAME.... whatever u wanna call it, that was EPIC

  • Its not banned from every other Promotion you moron. Its pretty obvious that themove its banned in WWE, caus in the WWE youll NEVER see moves like Tiger suplex, Dragon Suplex, Avalanche Tombstone etc..

  • yeah but you have to keep in mind the schedule and how much they pay their talent. Moves like those can be easily blotched and end up seriously injuring someone. You'll only see moves like that on the indies.

  • @Takerfanatic93 The Tiger and Dragon Suplex aren't banned
