ok - I just found these films of an entire scene w/ piano accompaniment - 1) "EXCELSIOR....PIANISTA M.VINICIO COLELLA. I QUADRO, L'OSCURANTISMO" THAT is totally an example of the kind of spectacle that Manzotti put on.
There is a far older film of "Excelsior" that I have been dying to see in its entirety, filmed 1913. see the youtube vid titled - "Excelsior alla Scala di Milano"
@binakutir glad you liked. I appeared in the 1967 production of Excelsior in Florence as a little english sailor. I was 7! Your grandma looked spectacular!
yes, she was gorgeous! Thank you! I'm a dancer as well and I never saw her dancing before seeing the video you post in facebook. I'm trying to find more material in italian archive now. It was a great gift to find her!!!!
@mrlopez2681 I don't think . She was from Riga and she born around 1911 and Legnani died in Milan around the 1930 and she was mostly in Milan and San Pietroburgo so I don't think my grandmother get to know her... but who never knows!!!
My granmum danced at the Opera in Riga, briefly in Paris and she was in Rome from the 1935
