The first time I went to the Eaton Centre was around 1980 when I was ten years old. I remember looking up at the glass ceiling and almost falling over from dizziness because it seemed so huge at the time.
Unfortunately the mall ended up sucking the life out of Yonge St (thank god they didnt tear down old city hall like in the original plans). Sure Yonge Dundas square was built to help a little but if one walks up Yonge north from Dundas to about College/Carlton it gets a bit unpleasant. On the other hand though College Park is now building some 80 something story condo at Gerard and Yonge caled Aura so hopefully that will clean up Yonge some more.
I was cast in this ad, but I didn't make the final cut. Still got paid, though :D
I miss sleazy Yonge Street.
