  • Bozz at this best, this song if grooving you can feel the funk !! Watch out yow'll, it's coming at you.

  • OMG is this a GREAT performance. Boz is incredible! Thanks for sharing. Smooth as silk. Now for some Steely Dan!

  • How could 4 people dislike this? It's a perfect performance of this always hip song, and better than the album cut. Boz is as cool and soulfully mellow as ever (what a voice), the arrangement is great, and it's got some really hot tenor sax playing by Charles McNeal, a great musician and one of the nicest cats around.

  • Thanks for downloading. Totally brilliant music and visuals.

  • Love You Boz Scaggs... That's my son's nickname "JoJo'...

  • So refreshing to see REAL musicians at work. Excellent timing. The back-up singers - totally awesome. Simply beautiful.

  • pure class

  • Boz Rocks!!!

  • The "Middle Man" is great, and JoJo is a great opening track. I recently pulled out of my vast cd catalog collection to give it some play and it is simply magical.

  • People this is real music with real people playing instrements and vocalist really singing. Timeless art never goes out of style, just like fine wine this brother (Boz) and the crew gets better with time. Bless you all.

  • THANK-YOU,, I AM GOING BACK A FEW YEARS BEHIND,,, WOW,,,,,

  • Is Boz still performing?

  • @oldiesfan52 - Oh yes, my friend! He rocked Detroit with Michael McDonald just this past Tuesday. He sounds better that ever!! Check out Ticketmaster for next year! A must-see!!

  • so smooth

  • Dooooo the funki munki.....................

  • I remember my 20's... Great music, great performer, song writer and arranger! Thanks Bozz for your music, you did a very good job! I grew up in South America listening and having a lot of fun with your songs! Yo recuerdo mis 20's... Estupenda musica, tremendo cantante, compositor y arreglista. Gracias Bozz por tu musica, hiciste un trabajo espectacular! Yo creci en Suramerica escuchando y disfrutando tus canciones!

  • Its sad when you see the 'DISLIKE" numbers posted on tracks like this, but then on the other hand im thankfull i was blessed with music in my heart and soul and am a player myself that plays the music i love and come up on like Boz, Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago, Sly Stone ect ect... @ mdbrazillian 3 people born not only without ears but also without soul brutha! Peace.

  • I think 3 people were born without their ears!

  • Listen to the backup singers throughout JoJo - they make this song special. Boz is great, but the girls make him even better. Listen at 1:03 and from 1:43; you'll never hear any musical instrument make prettier sounds than these two girls. Love it . . . . .

  • If you don't know ...know you know this is pure music, none of the computer generated crap real people playing real music from the street.

  • Quality.

  • I cut my love for this style of jazz/blues non Boz in 1974, he is one of a kind!

  • Boz Scaggs....Like Most Old School artist ...their work is timeless...Sounds so good today as it did decades ago!!!! Very nice!!!!

@darylhsu Thank you for the sssmokin upload! 5*****!!!!!

  • I love this song. I have many remembers when I heard it. Great Boz Scaggs...

  • Talent at its best.

  • Not like my original solos ..but, nontheless..... very tasty!!

  • This is my favorite Boz Scaggs' song. I love it and play it all the time.

  • Man he is like a fine bottle of wine just gets better with age, and as good live as his recordings 20 years ago, I saw him in concert many years ago and screamed somebody "Loan me a Dime" for about 5 minutes and the people in the audience who knew that song started yelling and he played it. I was blown away it was so good and never expected him to do it in the later years!

  • wish they had a love button

  • @alfortney44 Try Alt and the # 3 at the same time = ♥

  • relaxing...

  • What is this type of music called? Funk?

  • Saw him (with Miss Monet) in Georgia this past July---still has it, still shows it, and the audience offering three curtain calls---still knows it! Great entertainment---consumate musician and entertainer... still has the pipes too!

  • If I thought I was one-fifth as cool as Boz, I'd buy myself a new hat.

  • the Boz rules He is the greates with great music and arrangements . lyrics that will live forever!

  • right from the start...love love love this...flo flowin!

  • Amo este homem...vc eh uma lenda viva!!! tempos felizes de nossas vidas..um beijo Boz!!!

  • Jojo reminds me of guy swindling his own mother for the money. Then gets his ass shot off by his debt collector nephew.

  • one baddass dude talent unimaginable! I love me some Boz Scaggs makes me want to take my girl out and buy her something nice! A night out Baby!

  • I would've liked this better with Steve Porcaro on the synthesizer.

  • ahhh....made my day much better!

  • Funky, fun and cool.

  • Rich Armstrong lays in the trumpet and flugelhorn parts so smooth , perfectly.

  • I agree. I can't get bored of this song...

  • Love it all....horns and the ladies doing background vocals included...:)

  • I;ve been a fan for decades. Just saw him live a week or so ago in Burlington VT and he is as fabulous as ever! Everything he had beck then... he's still got. ; )

  • Thanks for posting. This is a classic!

  • the album with this tune marked the zenith of the LA studio sound.

as far as this performance DYNOMITE!!!! thanks for the music Boz

  • Wow..> this Nice.

  • Adorable.....makes me smile everytime.

  • Gr8 honest vocal....

  • I've always been a big fan of Boz Scaggs...and this is coming from a sista!

  • Like I have said previously, this is the real deal. Real musicians and vocalists doing real music. Boz is timeless. Ill put this up against any Lady gaga shit or Britney Spears bull shit. No need for any trashy slutty dance numbers. This is pure enjoyment, thanks for posting!!!!

  • Yeah. . .

    Songs nowadays are just crap.

They just sing for the rhythm not for the message of their song. . .

  • The 70's and 80's music was Great...Boz and his band still sounds good

    Thanks for posting this video.

  • one word perfection man you can hear every instrument on Boz's videos here the vocals are impecably flawless see what wonderful muscians and vocalists can give you on stage im envious of anyone who have seen this ensemble perform live

  • The Boz still has it: the wonderful marriage of great musicians; awesome arrangements and sound mixing; superb backup singers and his sexy, smokey-Boz vocal chops that can reduce you to a puddle! Been a Boz fan for 4 decades and at 60 years old and on the down-hill superslide to social security, I still have a jones for him! Taking my oldest daughter to see him in concert on June 17th and she can't wait to rock out with Mama!!!

  • A musical gem. Not only is he a great talent, but what about his band!!

  • Tight arrangement.....crisp...precise. A dream band, indeed.

  • Boz live at The Waikiki Shell last nightAwesome concert. Love those backup girls. Aloha Boz In Maui Tonight

  • Don't get any better than this.

  • a first class act...and those girls are terrific.

  • Classic!!!

  • The Boz. The Best.

  • The Boz is timeless XD

  • After all those years, Boz still has it!

"I bet Boz got three ho's in every ZIP code..."

i'll accept any replies I get... I'll take it , like a man...

  • Take it, take it......

  • I respectfully disagree rush - these guys groove, great sax solo, great bass/drum lock, great background vocals, and Boz is spot on. Great stuff.

  • If you haven't seen The Boz live all I can say is, "Go!" Best concert ever!

  • Thanks airsidetv, your comment really nailed it....

  • Amazing is all that I can say............

  • Boz Scaggs is a summers day, top down, boz on the radio, oh yeah

  • amazing changes and harmonies...

  • Timeless music, best there is!

  • I am 43 also (1/26/1966) and I started listening to The Boz when I was 12. I just purchased this version of JoJo tonight on Amazon. I love this guy!!!!

  • I have listened to Boz since I was 12. I am 43 now and still thinks he rules! Best damn music to make ya feel good. Great driving music

  • IMO, Jeff's drumming version of this song still the sweetest and funkiest groove i've ever heard

  • I agree, but you gotta' give this guy his props. He does a hell of a job on the tune.

  • RIP Jeff Porcaro

  • I love this song so much, bass, drums,

    hoons, chorus,,,everybody cool!

    Thank you up date.

  • hab mir mal die versionen aus den früheren zeiten von ihm angehört,

was soll ich sagen wie ein guter whisky je älter desto besser

  • gehört und einfach nur für geil befunden

  • So often when singers from this era appear, I honestly feel sorry for them--most of them look ridiculous and just plain "past their prime" -especially when they wear the black leather pants. Boz STILL looks and sounds great. He's aged like a fine wine..lucky Mrs. Scaggs. Please keep on, Boz!

  • West Coast Hip 70's Baby ....... aaahhhhhh

  • ......... actually, Boz sounds better now than he ever did ....... He's tremendous! I would give my eye teeth to be one of his back-up singers! I would pay HIM to let me!

  • I will love to play bass for him, I will also pay....lol!!

  • alright. karen u sing. poe u play bass. i'll play the drums. we can go to austin and find a homeless dude to play the guitar lol.

  • A time when we had REAL music!!

  • @hardlines4 YEAH, WHERE HAVE THOSE DAYS GONE? BOZ HAS SO MUCH SOUL, WHETHER IT BE A JAZZY SONG, BLUES TUNE OR A BALLAD, THE COMPLETE PACKAGE!!!!

  • @hardlines4

You are so very right! Thank God for YouTube and satellite radio!

  • Beautiful, Boz...really beautiful.

  • i miss Jeff Porcaro....

  • me to man.. wouldnt ya think they would try to swing it a little more like jeff did... this dude is holdin it down but this is a little straight dont ya think? especially when it comes to the eigths and sixteenths on the hi hats... and just this dudes over all bass drum feel is straighter... but then again who can play like jeff?

  • Only Boz Scaggs could write such a soulful, sexy, funky song about a bad boy named Jojo! I love this version of this classic. It is very danceable! "Say, what do you think of gentlemen wearing mink?" Awesome lyrics! Also showcases Boz's vocal abilities. Boz also has really talented musicians and Barbara and Monet rock! I want a job as one of his back-up singers! What fun they are having! Go Jo!

  • @Amyo47 LOL, RIGHT ON, I HEAR YOU!!!!!!!

  • !!!! :D lo maximooo bozz

  • Another song with a great bridge (starts at 1:35). Classic.

  • It occured to me tonight. We are so lucky to live in a country full of musical geniuses who write and perform the things that "fit" our lives. WOW! No where else in the world like America.

  • country full of musical geniuses?????........oh! you mean England :-]

  • Read your bios soon to be taken over Moo-Slim Cuntry (not misspelled). EVERY great Brit was inspired by an American, starting with the Beatles and going forward. Without us you don't have squat. Show me one Brit who puts on a show like OUR bands do and play quality live as well. ONE comes to mind. Phil Collins. He can't equal most American acts. I know you've been pissed since we broke off from you but deal with it!!

  • i agree on the music front america is the pits on most other things

  • Yeah well take your ungrateful ass elesewhere then. The very computer you sit at was invented here. You can fly from New York to L.A. in a few hours and have the freedom to do so. You can vote for whoever you want, can own property, accumulate as much or little wealth as you desire and pray to give thanks to whatever God you choose for that privilege. Yeah, show me a better place moron. I see you've been influenced by too many professors.

  • Yea Yea Yea but we have Gordon Brown in the UK!

  • Boz is timeles and so cool

  • Amazing live performance!

I'd like to find chords for this song.

  • Boz has known the formula all this years

  • When music was REAL!!!!!!

  • you know that this man was the TOTO band founder.

  • This amazing guy lost a son in 1998 with 21yo for drugs problems. And the man is still at shape, facing the sadness with music. Great Boz!!!

  • Boz has always struck me as one of the most down to earth and dignified musicians of the 70s and 80s. He doesn't do it for money and he doesn't do it for fame. What a class act. Still kickin' ass I must add :)

  • :) ME ENCANTA :)

  • His voice has lost NOTHING.So very underated

  • grangeinboston ,I totally agree!!!

  • just saw Boz last night, I'm still in love!

  • One of my favorites from Boz. The sax work of Charles Mcneal is brilliant. He is a great improviser. Thanks for posting!!!

  • This song was written by James Taylor's blonde backup singer (for years), David Laisley. If you've seen JT at all you can't miss him in the back! So I would think the Toto "sounding like" came from the production more than the writer! Check Laisley's list of songs he wrote for others on wikipedia. Just an interesting side bar, I thought.

  • shhh..this is so fucking good...

  • è Boz... tem um grande som é barbaro som quem ouviu isso nos anos 70 sabe do que estou falando ..... não se faz musicas como esta e Lowdown

  • Man oh man, is he still got it! Wife and I just caught him at Stillwater (MN) Lumberjack days. Fab player and singer, and a great band...

  • great stuff.... love his music ever since I was a young kid in the 70s. Am glad he is still strutting out his stuff.

  • Sax player is Charles McNeal. Anyone know if Boz is touring with sax and trumpet players?

    Thanks

  • yes they are- just saw him Sat night at the Fraze

  • Who is the sax player? Smooth, man.

  • This song sounds so fresh today...it's 28 years old!!!! Just amazing!!!

C'mon North American pop adult radio - you should be playing the hell out this track in your gold category!!!!! Slick, cool and relevant.

    Boz Scaggs never grows old.

  • jump back--BOZ IS QUIET COOL!

  • went to his show last night in a 1000 seat venue. great show. tight band. same backup singers who are very soulful, as was the whole thing.

  • What a cool tune!

  • this version is simply smooth. cool band cool session. would you be so kind as to tell me where's the venue?

  • Venue - Great American Music Hall in San Fran

DVD is called " Boz Scaggs Greats Hits Live"

CD " Fade into Black" has 3 cuts of this concert on the flip side of the CD

  • thank you very much indeed.

  • Many thanks. I'm a great Boz fan. Had the vynil back in the 70's, and now the CD, but finding this venue in DVD won't be easy, at least down here in Chile. Great music, great composer, great singer. Boz is still a great act.

  • Does anyone know where this concert was and if it'S ON DVD?

  • this is great music i grew up on it.smooth and silky like me.

  • Man, I love the background JO JO at 1:59 and 4:00!

  • Especially the one at 1:59. Those girls sound so good.
