hehehe.. If he compares Simon to Dj Tiesto that says everything. Simon has mastered the power of the synthesiser and has his own productive ideas. Noone can be compared to Hallucinogen because he is unique, his music is unique, his samples are unique and original. Infected Mushroom ( although personally I favour their albums until I'm the Supervisor) share the same uniqueness and originality. Dj Tiesto is just top in the commercial field (outran by Armin of course) .

I'm the supervisor, excellent choice, its my personal favourite too, even with all the other psytrance tracks out there, and even though ive listened to IM and I'm the supervisor till the puking point, its still the most impressive psytrance track ever made out there.

But to dismiss Verwest as incomparable to Posford shows how little you may understand about either of them. In his field Tiesto was easily as technically accomplished. Go back to the same era (ca. 1996) and be amazed at what they were both doing in their completely different approaches.

oh come on.　The bog standard 4/4 kick drum with hihats between beats, The simple repetitive melodies that don't develop further than filter tweaks, the snare drum build ups, the cheesy samples placed in the breakdowns, the cymbal crashes...finally we even get some trance strings to top the cheese with more cheese.

If you want to hear the 'real' goa trance sound, then go to soundcloud and search for "Unveiling The Secret - The Roots Of Trance". That goes back to the late 80's, early 90's proper vibe. All this (mostly UK based) stuff that came out as 'goa' in the mid to late 90's is very fomulaic and rigid compared to the colour and creative flourish of the original tunes.

No sir, this is Goa Trance; a predecessor to psytrance. Note the more "organic" sound, and the focus of melodic & sonic progression.

Psytrance sounds more metallic and dark.

Goa Trance came about around 1990 and ran rampant until roughly '98, when law officials in the "small" state of Goa, India, stopped taking bribes to look past the strong drug use and distribution and forest & beach parties.
