  • where did you get the "HID projector conversion" does it come with the switch, and was it easy to install?

is that tail light the same one from BRP? would the catalist fit the stock tail light from the 07 650r?

  • @MrGeo69 I got it on ebay a long time ago, and it took a lot of modification to get it to fit the headlamp housing.

The tail light was an original Clear Alternatives brand integrated model, but its the exact same shape as an OEM 06-08 light.

  • How did you put the plate farther back there, is there a certain kit?

  • What kind of windscreen did you buy? do you have the website?

  • @Michaelgsln The windscreen is a ZG 636 windscreen. You noticed these are not stock 650R fairings, right? The catalyst body was made off of the 636 and uses 636 screens.

  • @spyclip ya i actually looked through the previous comments and found the blue ridge performance web site and saw it. How much did it cost to paint all the fairings and the race tail?

  • @Michaelgsln I had a local guy I knew do the paint and it ran me about $500 for the whole setup

  • What console is that?

  • I have a 2008 650r ninja, I wanted to change the fenders and dash to the 2009+'s models. Would it be a direct bolt on swap? Or will this not work...

  • @nickdrakesi Its not a direct bolt on. The bracketry is different and youd have to do a lot of work to get it all on there properly.

  • where did you get the digital gauge?

  • @Mrhurricane51g 05 636

  • just installed my my clop ons (Apex) about a month ago, i decided to place them above my triple, that way i am still able to use my stock plastics. I have clearance with all my controls and they dont hit my gas tank. if you have any more questions just shoot me a message on facebook.

  • Hi, I know this is late but I just scored my 2011 ninja 650r... I am most interested in the fairings, handlebars and seat transformation... excuse me for being a chic but why kind of shop can do those modifications? I was told the tank wld get in the way of clip ons?... anyway, your bike is awesome! Totally what im trying to get mine too eventually... thanks for any help :)

  • @sherlock10851 Thanks for the compliments. Not sure what shops would do the installation, I did this all myself. The tank will not get in the way of clipons, I had lock to lock steering here and the 09+ would be the same. Check out BRPforums and Riderforums (650R subsection) and search "Catalyst fairings" for more info.

  • @sherlock10851 The amount of work required is really not worth the effort. If thats what you really want, I would tell you to ride the crap out of your 650 and then later sell it and get a used 635/ZX6R. The full transformation just costs too much money for what you get in the end, and requires a lot of custom work. Plus for the street, the race fairings were super nice for race bodywork, but are still flimsy for actual street riding.

  • Where exactly did you get the hid's and what kind are they?

  • @Sarge3991 They were a chinese ebay kit, apparently not sold anymore. However there are some sites selling a whole variety of better kits if you search google for HID projector retrofit kits

  • CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN IN GREAT DETAIL WHAT YOU HAD DONE TO IT AND THE COST CAUSE THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT DONE TO MY RIDE! PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • @TheCyberguy101 check out various threads on riderforums. total cost is discussed in comments from earlier

  • thats a freaking awesome bike dude!!!!

how much have you spend for the transformation?

  • @lgga Overall the cost of everything was close to $1500

  • still have those upper fairings? i noticed you switched over to the street fighter look.

  • @fhsknight75 Nope sold them all last year

  • as ninja 650r enthusiast and proud owner, hands down you have one of the sickest looking ones out there,

  • @fhsknight75 Thanks!

  • What's the difficulty of installing the clipons? What kind did you use?

  • @Mp3rdu Clipons mounted under the triple clamp will not fit with stock bodywork. You have to run the catalyst composites fairings or no fairings. I used woodcraft 2-piece clipons which allows for installation without removing the forks from the triple clamps. Pretty easy if you are mechanically inclined.

  • @Mp3rdu Also you can try some semi-clipon handlebars... If that makes sense. They mount under the triple tree but a bar extends them to whichever point you want. I don't remember what their company was but sportbiketrackgear has a vid on them just go to their YT page and search clip on.

  • what kind of pipe do you have on there?

  • @taylorshane1234 Leo Vince SBK aluminum

  • your bike looks great and i dig the mods. i was stunned to find out that i cant make my 650 faster really. just cooler looking. thanks for the idea's

  • @mommathinksimugly 125mph and a 0-50mph run besting most SS bikes isn't fast enough for you? Plenty fast for me and for what the 650R is meant to be; a beast around town.

A K03 or GT12 turbo fits on there pretty well, too.

  • @spyclip true it is a beast around town and 0- 100moh my bike is faster than most. top speed on mine is 133mph so far

  • @spyclip true it is a beast around town and 0- 100mph my bike is faster than most. top speed on mine is 133mph so far

  • Hey this bike is modified perfectly and looks sexy as exactly as the way i have dreamed of. Can u plz Explain how much would i have to spend to make my bike look exactly like this but in red color and where to get it done etc... reply a must. Thanks. And also is it possible to make 250 r ninja modify n look like urs ?

  • @dhondupten The total in parts and paint was over $1500. There is the intangible cost of making parts myself, like the seat and doing the decals. There is no ninja 250 bodywork from catalyst, so it wouldnt be possible without making your own fiberglass from scratch

  • did you repaint the body work by paint cans? or a professional spray gun?

  • @tribulation138 All paintwork was done by an autobody shop painter that I know locally. He was using factory colors and professional equipment.

  • hey ive been trying to find how to get the sport handlebars for my 2006 ninja 650r.. i cant.. where did you get them??

  • Grate job on the body work dude.. lookin sharp!! how much did it set u bak?

  • nicely done! I have a 09 650R but you spent way more money than I would have on it. For that you could have bought a zx6 or a gsx-R 750

  • @andy2964 Lol well that implies that I even want one of those 4 cylinder dime-a-dozen squid bikes. I bought the 650 specifically for the motor. I've also got a daytona 675 that I enjoy far more than most middleweight SS bikes.

  • @spyclip oh no man everyone kept telling me to buy a 4 cylinder. I had the option of getting one wih 400 miles on it for the same price I bought mine. I prefer the twin over the 4 as well. I was just saying you spent a lot of man hours or money to make it look that good. I just like the look of some of the SS bikes over the 650R. I hate screaming to 14K rpm to get power instead of cracking the throttle and getting it off the line or in the twisties where I dont have to change gears.

  • @andy2964 I totally agree about the usable powerband of the twin.

The bike is now undergoing further transfrmation into a streetfighter, so stay tuned

  • By far the best looking 650r I have Ever seen!! Will defitnetly get that tail for My 650r,Nice Job!!!

  • why 650RR??

  • @error262 RR = race replica. So a 650R which has been converted from a sport touring bike to an SS with full race bodywork and other modifications would logically be called an "RR"

  • what handlebars are though?

  • @maybesotc no bars, those are woodcraft clipons. they only work with aftermarket fairings.

  • Wow, Niice. I got a black 09 650 what color pazzo levers do you think will look better all black or all silver? and are the ones you have the short ones or the long ones?

  • @msharksb those are the shorties, on a black 09 I think the black would look better since the stockers are silver.

  • Is this the same fairings from Blue Ridge Performance? I had the same idea for this. Looks great!

  • Thanks. The fairings are the Catalyst Composites street set, which BRP does sell.

  • Saw your bike on the forum. It's so nice dude but too bad you weren't the BOTM. Man you inspired me to get the 650R...hahaah.

  • awesome bike , like what you did.

  • Nice, looks good. These bikes are cheap for some reason on the used market...compared to the SV650.
