Nathan Lane is great! Is it just me or is he the only one that seems to do a good job? I feel like he stole the show (as he should anyway), and that the others were just sort of there. Too bad it wasn't just him, he could probably do the whole thing by himself and it'd be just as great and funny. No I mean, it's just weird like the scarecrow has no emotion, and at least the Tinman shows some signs of life, and well Dorothy.... I can't put my finger on it but there's a weird thing there too

Scarecrow (folk-rock musician Jackson Browne) got his own turn duirng "If I only had a Brain" , Dorothy (Jewel) stars in Somewhere over the rainbow, Tin Man (Roger Daltry of The Who) this isnt a play or movie- its basically readers theatre with music. It's impolite to move around and draw attention during someone else's solo or scene. watch the whole concert and you'll think differently!

@virginiarules510 its on VHS and cd--but the VHS is VERY rare as its long since out of print, so it costs a from 60 to hundred $ depending on quality of the VHS, and is not on DVD or Blu Ray, was never re-printed/re-released, and was a one time only concert/reader's theatre event for charity. Cds are on Amazon for $20ish titled "The Wizard of Oz In Concert: Dreams Come True" (1995)

I love this performance of Wizard of Oz. Many fabulous performers but Nathan Lane takes the cake as the most talented comedian in the show. Jewel and Natalie Cole are amazing!!!

I think it's important to bring one's own personality to the role. That's what Nathan Lane does here. It's very tempting to simply imitate the great Bert Lahr!
