So for jokes NOT to FAIL...I guess they'd have to be some sort of SUCCESS? Now I'm no joke genius--but I did read this video's description and it uses the term 'Anti-jokes.' Perhaps these "anti-jokes" are involved in a different kind of investigation than those REALLY funny jokes found on TV? & maybe a seemingly accidental event such as this-- one that's both strained & uncommon is more complicated than that? Maybe to say 'Jokes=FAIL' means you expected actual 'jokes' and 'funniness?'

I agree with you. This was more insulting than funny. If you're going to have "arguably one of the most important artists of the 20th century" on your program, you should make it a point at least to establish that he is such! Yeah, he's a nice guy, but he's also one of the most important composers of the past century!

That day I spoke with Terry at great length about his work, and he played some amazing music he hasn't yet released. But I'm trying to make a show where artists are encouraged to perform comedy. Usually these interactions are reserved for a much more serious, academic discourse--which is great, but why can't there be both? Terry gave a fantastic lecture and performance that day, at the end of which he said that doing the show was his FAVORITE PART.
