  • jeff beck wrote it and they sound great together

  • @mrbassman1972 Actually Stevie Wonder wrote the song as payment for Jeff playing on one of his records. BUT before Jeff recorded and released it, Stevie recorded and released it and Jeff sued him. So somewhere there is a fully produced Stevie Wonder record with Jeff Beck playing guitar that never got released. It's really unfortunate.

  • @mrbassman1972 Actually Stevie wrote & was going to give it to Jeff to record as a Thank you for appearing on Talking Book. Once Stevie's manager/agent heard it he said he had to record it himself. Jeff did still record it while with Carmine Appice & Tim Bogert in BBA.

  • That guitar solo broke my hallway mirror.

  • otimoooooooooooooooooooooooooo DIMAS ME LEMBRO DE VC RSRRSRSR

  • do your thing son!

  • Wow! It looks like the way to make an incredible song even better is to invite Jeff Beck to join you on stage. This is brilliant in every respect. No one plays better than Jeff. His phrasing is just beautifully insane.

  • How did I make it 32 years on earth and never here this before?! Well better late then never I guess, evidently 4 people here hate extreme talent.

  • Just wow - Real players playing real music.

  • Is it just me or Jeff waves at Stevie Wonder at the end at 4:30 ?

  • Can we get a talented guitar player in here please? Jesus Christ, Beck. Way to fuck up an incredible song.

  • @edgirallenjoe29 Jeff originally helped write it you tool, he's an amazing guitarist and always will be.

  • @edgirallenjoe29 You're being sarcastic right? Cause Jeff's possibly the greatest guitar player alive, and this video shows why.

  • That solo does things to me I can't even describe.

  • @LesChopWilliams

That's cos Beck does things to his guitar other players can't do.

  • Did anybody know Stevie actually wrote Supersition for Jeff Beck and took it back for himself?! LOL Great to see them back together. Love the song they do together on Talking Book,"Looking for another Love"

  • 4:20 lol

  • Weee...!

  • 15 people are superstitous

  • 1:37-1:40

    2:22-2:225-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • tasty

  • As both a hard and heavy rocker and fan of soul/r&b/funk, I must say this is BAD-ASS!!

  • lol this is awesome!

  • who'se talent would you rather have ? Beck or Wonder ? whooaaa

  • Jeff Beck!!!

  • very superstitious writings on the wall

  • Love how Stevie moves!

  • I play a Telecaster since I like to do a lot of oblique bending and stuff and I dont like most of the shred-style whammy acrobatics... but there are two players who make me want a trem bar -- Jeff Beck and Reeves Gabrels from Bowie's band.

  • I'm 15 and I was there. This was my introduction to jeff beck, needless to say, he's been an idol ever since

  • @jnobel1 very cool initiation. rock on

  • @jnobel1 that would of been the best concert on the face of the earth, so lucky, wish i could of been there

  • @jnobel1 Lucky you, boy!

  • @jnobel1 Good for you. Who turned you on to this music?

  • @rfw45 parents, friends, many of my generation's musicians actually like good music

  • Jeff Beck and Stevie Wonder together- unbelievable!

  • Jeff Beck is the man. There is nobody can top him as far as guitarists are concerned. Saw him last year and he tore the place down.

  • I can't even dream of doing with a pick what jeff do, and he does it with his thumb!!!

  • LMAO 4:29 JEFF BECK WAVES TO STEVIE....

  • sex.

  • 2:15 everybody screeeeeaaam! xD

  • Two words ... sanctifying fecal matter.....

  • @Redwulf32

    Three words.

    You can't count!

  • He said I love you kakashi?

  • did Jeff wave to Stevie at the end of the song........?

  • Great!

  • Wait... Is Beck playing a guitar there ?

  • Germany????

How'd Germany go in the period 1937 to 1945??????

All of you "know-everything " Gen Xers and Gen Ys, you've probably never heard of what Germany perpetrated during this period of history. I won't waste my time in discussing it, as I feel you'd simply reject any such information as being from some old dinosaur who wouldn't know anything.

  • in germany the concert was shown in the middle of the night, and they cut many parts of this awesome concert off. german tv is so lame. showing this fucking stupid "reality tv" the hole day, but awesome musicians and their hall of fame concert not. its embarassing, fuck you german tv...

  • @Munx2k7 alot of my stuff that i post gets blocked and is not seen in germany. china, russia is OK, not germany

  • @urdedmete

Copyright laws suck over here ;(

    its an nice video anyway

    Go jeff

  • @U2006gmx its mostly sony bmi.

  • @Munx2k7 the same in greek tv...

  • @Munx2k7 That sucks big......

  • @Munx2k7: Do you own a dictionary? You may want to use it and increase your vocabulary just a bit so when you have another hissy fit you don't look quite so much like a spoiled brat with poor grammar.

Waaa!!!!! I want the world to work my way waaaa!!!!

  • @abbyguy so you are from canada, i guess english is your native language, or maybe french? well it isnt my native language. iam looking forward to see your german skills. not everybody is lucky, to be born and raised in a country, where you speak a universal language...

  • @Munx2k7 : I was refering to your tirade about it not being shown on a TV station you approved of and then decided to use expetives in place of educated dialogue. It has nothing to do with where I was born - although you may want to make that the issue - it has everything to do with your little temper tantrum. Grow up.

  • @abbyguy aah. well its my opinion and i use the words i want. put your "educated dialogue" in some place, where the sun is never shining. are you an ex or still member of Jehovah's Witnesses"? i hate this bunch of idiots, knocking at your door and asking you to "talk about god" . . .

  • @Munx2k7 : Thank you for not swearing it makes for a much better dialogue. For the record I was but am not now a JW and dislike them kocking at my door as much as you do.

    Peace

  • @Munx2k7 sad but true - same thing all over the world :(

  • @Munx2k7 just like the truth is not shown in american news ;-)

  • it was planned that Eric Clapton should do this song with stevie, but he couldnt come for some reason. i would've liked that more than jeff . . .

  • @Munx2k7 I don't know how Clapton could have topped what Beck did. That was awesome, it reminds me of Prince doing the solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

  • @DasGoldenBoy i personally like clapton more than beck, so i would have been happier if clapton did this. thats all.

  • @Munx2k7 Jeff was chosen because Stevie wrote this song for Jeff.

  • This whole concert was like the best Jam Session on the planet. F**king fantastic!

  • This whole concert was like the best Jam Session on the planet. F**king fantastic!

  • Cool,

  • I believe he wrote ' Cause we've ended as lovers' for his wife.

Jeff did record it, and put his brand on it to perfection.

  • one of the few beck solos that truly totally blew me away. jeff sure did his thang...... sons.

  • beck makes me want to puke . with joy and astonishment and disbelief

  • That Beck kid can play a little.

  • @meazmo actually Jeff Beck made the drum riff....

  • Beck and Wonder are both gods in their own right. This is monstrous.

  • Isn't that singer Stevie Wonder?

  • @GrimRipperSociety

No I think it's Oprah Winfrey

  • I need to change my underwear everytime I watch this.

  • Jeff and Stevie; makes sense. Jeff is respectful but Stevie allows him to have some fun. 'Just cool all 'way 'round. For you young guns, Jeff did the tune back in the 70's with some of the Fudge kids.

  • I've seen this show on TV in Holland (somewhere in october last year I think) but omg how I would wish I could be by that concert!

  • @MrTelecaster52 hahaha come close to his level of playing and then talk

  • @MrTelecaster52 how dare you to hurt mr. music himself's feelings. go play with toy cars dumbfuck!

  • Ça met de bonne humeur ☺! I l♥ve this song !

  • I may possibly be an idiot but, SRV' S one track mind of blues legend licks do not compare with the absolute mastery of the guitar by Jeff Beck. Put that in your f'ing pipe and smoke it!!!

  • @777Mystery one idiot comment was enough.

  • how does he do that on 2:22!

  • Jeff beck with Stevie Wonder...

    WONDERFUL!!!!!!

  • One stay-at-home mom who couldn't handle the funk accidentaly hit the dislike button.

  • SRV is a pimple on Beck's behind.

  • @777Mystery you're an idiot...they're both fuking great

  • No matter who Beck plays with he just nails every time. What a genious

  • Sad that Jeff has to play the song he was cheated out of. Stevie wrote this song for him, payment for playing on Talking Books, but recorded and released it first. Still love them both though.

  • @LuneyTune72 But in return, Stevie wrote "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" for him, which is now Beck's most recognizable and one of the most beautiful guitar instrumentals of all time. Not a bad trade since Jeff thinks the world of Stevie :)

  • WONDERFUL!!!

  • This is the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life.

  • STEVIE ACTUALLY WROTE THIS FOR JEFF TOO! IT WAS A THANK YOU FOR JEFFS HELP ON TALKING BOOK.JEFF DID THIS SONG WITH BBA BEFORE STEVIE DECIDED TO RELEASE HIS OWN VERSION! DAMN WHAT A TOTAL TREAT THIS IS! THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS GEM!!!!

  • Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!

  • SRV should have been the one playing

  • @waynechanhaoran nahh i say both of em :)

  • This is retarded. Musically Jeff was given no space to do his thing. No room in the sonic space for a solo or anything because it was all taken up by horns and choir.

  • RARRRRRRRRGGGHHH!!!!!!! EVERYBODY SCREAAMM!!!! Hahaha.

  • that's what i call a guitar virtuoso!

  • That was so funky I could smell it from here.

  • nutts

  • Holy crap. Stevie and Jeff, what a combo.

  • did jeff wave at stevie@4:30? really.

  • oh gott, Jeff is the greatest!

  • did anyone notice the brief but absolutely CLASSIC moment at 4:31 where jeff is waving to stevie ;) - hahahaaahah great stuff.

  • Goddamn it, Jeff! Guess I'll go throw the guitar in the dumpster..

  • Blessed be HIS Name. +

  • Jeff Beck = badass :)

  • Jeff Beck is so underrated, no joke

  • I read somewhere that Beck said that when you cover a Stevie Wonder song, it will never sound as good as Stevie's original version. However, if Stevie covers YOUR song, it will sound better than your original. Pretty damn cool.

  • @AbrahamVanHasselhoff yeah..my brother said that he always felt if Jesus would come down here and make music, it would sound like Stevie Wonder. Pretty high praise indeed, no?

  • @rickmatousek Stevie Wonder is aptly named. He is one of the most inspirational musicians who ever lived, and he always looks like he's having a blast.

  • Did Jeff do just one song during this show?

  • @sd006 No There is more. You can see more of the concert @urdedmete. Enjoy

  • does anyone know where I could get the tabs to this?

  • Stevie is great...but Jeff stole the show!

  • Jeff is having a good old time

  • Just do your thing son! AWESOME!!!

One of the grooviest stuff i've ever heard.

  • "I love you god bless you" And gone!

  • WOW!!! UNREAL! Now we know why both are in the Hall! MAN! They sound so good together!

  • WOOO steve wonder FTW oh YEA

  • can anybody tell me who is playing drums here?

  • Stevie wrote this song for Jeff Beck, but Berry Gordy liked it so much that he decided that Motown should keep it at the label... Thank God:)

  • Jeff Beck is one of My personal favorites. He is just as influencial and innovative as Clapton , Page , Van Halen , Alvin Lee , Frampton , and all the other virtuosos that created great guitar licks.

  • Gilmour!

  • Hey, just a heads up if want to change the title the song is called "Superstition".

    素晴らしいですね♡

  • Jeff and Stevie are friends from way back. Great to see them play together again.

  • Hey, what is the name of this concert?

  • It is from HBO's 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Concert at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 24 and 25th 2010. You can catch more of the concerts at @urdedmete. Thanks for stopping by.

  • @urdedmete its in 2009 ;) oct 2010 is still to come...

  • Man this live is priceless !!!

  • Jeff beck is a Guitar God! U don't get on a stage like that if you weren't. I wish People would give credit where credit is due! You watchin Mr. Clapton.

  • Beck is everywhere these days. Good for him!

  • only worthwhile point of the whole ordeal

  • Stevie and Jeff have been friends since the old days. Who do you think wrote "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" for Jeff?

  • JB played on Stevie's album Talking Book. The deal was Stevie would write him a song. That song was Superstition. When Berry Gordy heard it he said, No way, man, you are keeping this. Monster hit for Stevie, Beck Bogert & Appice covered as a power trio. Cause we've ended as lovers was written for Syreeta Wright who sang the song w/Stevie.

  • @ovneb Cause We've Ended as Lovers was written by Wonder for his then wife Syreeta Wright who recorded a version. Beck covered that. This song was originally written for Beck but it was too good for Stevie not to do a version first.

  • @ovneb Stevie originally wrote Superstition for Jeff, but kept it for himself. =)

  • @ovneb actually he wrote "Cause we've ended..." for his ex wife, Syreeta. Jeff just covered it. But believe it or not.... he wrote Superstition for Jeff (the Beck, Bogart, Appice band) but then he liked it so much (!) he wanted to keep it.

  • @ovneb Not to forget that he also wrote this song for Jeff originally too

  • stevie wonder didn't wrote it for jeff. he wrote it for a woman who sang it. jeff covered it

  • @stonesmannetje

Sir, you err. He wrote this song and offered it for Beck to record in exchange for Beck appearing on the album,Talking Book. But, Stevie recorded it for Talking Book at the insistence of his manager, who pressed him to release it as the first single from that album Beck recorded it for the album Beck, Bogert & Appice (released in the summer of 1973). As a consolation, Wonder gave Beck the song 'Cause We've Ended As Lovers. And the rest is history.

  • @ovneb

He also wrote this one for Jeff, who recorded it for the album Beck, Bogert & Appice (released in the summer of 1973). Stevie had recorded it for his album Talking Book (released late fall of1972) and Motown pressed him to release it as the first single from that album .

  • @ovneb And I believe that Beck co wrote this song with Wonder and they released it about the same time.

  • @ovneb to be honest, there was a little friction there in the day, because Jeff thought he had dibs on it for a while, and Stevie released it, and it was so successful it blew Jeff's version out of the water. It took them a while to kiss and make up, and we should give Stevie full credit there.

"Lovers" is my favourite guitar song - thank god they had the argument and Stevie came up with the solution!

  • I love when musicians get together of different generes and do amazing songs like this....Thanks for posting it!!!

  • 2 of the greatest artists of all time!!!

  • how awesome would it be to have stevie on keyboards, jeff on guitar, Tal on bass, and vinnie on drums

  • @Fraeg that would be awesome

  • "Everybody screeeeeeeam!"

  • Stevie sounds great, the band is tight, and Jeff Beck is on fire. thanks 4 posting.

  • this will happen at bonnaroo i hope.

  • Fuck Yeah Stevie can STILL SING !
