  • Just maybe...maybe a women might run for office.... maybe? Then they can write their laws. But they dont want it.

  • Creative!

  • "Status of Women offices"??? No shit he closed them what a waste of fucking money fucking pathetic

  • Wow and somehow Canada has been able to carry on without these programs nobody ever heard of... Status of Women offices?? Women represent 51% of the population in a free democratic society.. Men are the minority and have no status of male offices.

  • @EruditeCanadian

I have not met all of them or heard their stories. We need to listen to people's needs and experiences. Conversations like the one we are having are important.

  • @messedupmasterpiece

More often than not, we need not listen to peoples needs, rather tell them what they must do in order to succeed.

People did just fine without all the mollycoddling decades ago, and they can do without now.

Less mollycoddling means more self reliance, self respect and better work ethic.

Who do you think is a more rounded individual, or a greater contributor to society? A socialite like Paris Hilton, or a farm kid who grew up learning self responsibility?

  • @EruditeCanadian

I don't believe in saying "people who use these services are whiners". Human services are not a "pity party". I don't believe that all conservatives are a certain way, either.

  • @messedupmasterpiece

Not all people that receive government services are in the pity party, but the parties on the left and basically all left wing advocacy groups are.

How can an advocacy group be indignant with the amount of funding they're receiving. All these advocacy groups and social programs are basically government charities and they are looking a gift horse in the mouth!

It's like giving a homeless guy a dollar, only for him to tell you what an a**hole you are for only giving a dollar!

  • @EruditeCanadian

don't matter. I don't have statistics at hand, all I have are my own experiences and those of the women and men that I know and work with. I understand that is not a lot of people.

  • @EruditeCanadian

Status of Women offices provide funding to various kinds of support for women, including shelters. My university is applying to a Status of Women grant right now, so that we can establish a sexual assault centre on campus for all survivors of sexual assault and rape. It's not fair that a crisis centre is only seen as being needed by women, but the establishment of one on campus will help young women and men. Closing these offices sends a message that services like that

  • @messedupmasterpiece

Her's another interesting tidbit. The left is always saying the answer to all society's ills are more social programs, more support services. Yet, violent crime rates are just now getting back to their mid 60's levels. Before we had a welfare state.

The rate of sexual assault is actually on the rise now! After decades of social programs and women's advocacy groups, and the rate of sexual assault is increasing! How can this be? We must need more social programs, obviously...

  • @EruditeCanadian

By support and services, I mean proper counselling and support before, after, and during pregnancy. That means programming on schools, the opportunity to discuss options and assess her emotional and financial stability for raising a child. I agree that men don't have support systems in place for domestic violence situations...I said that in my message. And it is never someone's fault if they are subjected to violence, woman, man, or child.

  • @messedupmasterpiece

What the left doesn't seem to understand is that it doesn't matter if it isn't their fault, they are still responsible for how they deal with it. It's not my fault I lost my good job in a restructuring, but that doesn't absolve me of my responsibilities. It's still up to me to find another job, it's still up to me to support my family.

But, if a woman gets beat up, all the sudden her responsibilities are out the window, because it isn't her fault.

  • not being encouraged to pursuethe options and careers that are available. I myself have already been facing questions of how I am going to balance family and career, with the assumption that I want a family or need to plan for one. I do not cherish the right to "kill my own child" as you put it. I believe that the focus on abortion being right or wrong takes away from the reasons for why someone would seek an abortion in the first place, which often is a lack of services and support.

  • @messedupmasterpiece

You can't tell me that 100,000 women every year in Canada have abortions because they don't have support or services. 1/4 of all pregnancies in Canada results in abortion! The numbers are astounding.

The left screams about how guns are bad, we need a registry, ban this, ban that. But YAY abortion! 200 firearm deaths each year and 100,000 abortions each year. Wow.

Abortion is just another example of women not wanting to take responsibility for their actions.

  • @messedupmasterpiece

Whether it's abortion or pay equity or lack of women in politics or domestic violence, it's always the same story.

It's not my fault I got pregnant. It's not my fault I can't get a good job. It's not my fault that my man beats me. It's not my fault!!! Somebody take care of me!!! Because I am equal and I need to be taken care of!!!

The left is just a big pity party. Poor everybody. Nothing is anyone's fault. No responsibility for anyone!

  • enough to encourage men to speak up about their own experiences of sexual violence at all or to support them (as men also are abuse survivors with children, and there are few to no spaces for them), and if women speak up, they are often blamed or asked why they did not leave, or told that they brought it upon themselves. These services are important, legal equality does not assure social equality. Employment equity is a temporary solution to the larger societal problem of women and girls

  • @messedupmasterpiece

Men typically get much less support than women in the same situation. Even boys often will be turned away from women's shelters when they come in with their mothers. So much for equality there.

We both agree that there is a societal problem with what we are telling girls. I think we might see better results if we drilled our girls with the idea of personal responsibility instead of "Poor little girl. It's not your fault. What you need is a social program."

  • I was not confused, I cited rape statistics because one of the points made in the video is about the closing of women's shelters. Shelters are important and in place because when a woman experiences sexual violence, domestic abuse, or any other attack, she requires support and a safe space, especially if she has children who are also being abused. Legal equality does not mean that violence ends, especially intimate violence. These services are also required by men, but society has not progressed

  • @messedupmasterpiece

The Conservatives are shutting down status of women offices, not women's shelters. Status of Women office are just a bloated bureaucracy, making careers for women to complain about how bad it is, and not actually doing anything about it.

The Tories have said that there will be programs that the funding will go to, such as scholarships and apprenticeship opportunities for women, instead of a nebulous "Status of Women" office.

  • I think the comments talking about women "whining" are really disgusting. Go look up the statistics for rape in Canada, since you think all the statistics that women cite are garbage, apparently. Being pro-woman does not mean that you are anti-man. "Feminist bullshit" is an inaccurate statement in itself because feminism is a spectrum of beliefs. And the term "feminazi" is a horrible way of relating a gender-equality movement to a Holocaust that sought to eradicate specific human beings.

  • @messedupmasterpiece

What's disgusting is that women nowadays cherish the right to kill their own children. That's disgusting.

What does rape have anything to do with what we are talking about here? It's like saying look up homicide statistics or robbery statistics. Ok, now what? Rape has nothing to do with gender equality any more that jaywalking is indicative of race equality.

    You appear to be confused.

  • @messedupmasterpiece

Furthermore, the entire notion of "equality" is a joke. If women are equal, why should they receive unequal treatment like hiring quota's, status of women offices and the like. It's ridiculous. "We're so equal we need unequal treatment". WOW

Women are equal and therefore should be treated as equals. No special funding or hiring preference.

That's why the "feminist" movement is bullshit. It's not about equality, it's about getting preferential treatment.

  • The website is total slandering garbage, not worth your time. I mean, just look at the lack of class this advertising has ! Total crap.

  • Excellent! We need less feminist bullshit in Canada which is basically Sexist socialism that is pro-woman and anti-man.

  • My fiancee loves the fact I'm Conservative. When I told her that I was Conservative, it implied that I wasn't a loser stoner, I don't try to blame others for my own problems, I work for a living, I don't sit around on pogy all day crying about how unfair the world is, and I occupy a job and not wall street. So in other words, pretty good husband material.

You girls might want to try dating someone with testicles for a change.

  • @EruditeCanadian 100% right. Women make less money because they work less. "Family baby n' stuff"

Women who work as hard as a man make as much money..

That's the truth feminazi doesn't want them to know.

  • STOP HARPER!

  • women women women always women...

me me me me me me me gimmi gimmi gimmi money !!!!!!!!

  • @Mickr4

You said it. Always whine, whine, whine... My fiancee runs a company and makes 50% more than I do. How is that possible? Because instead of whining about how hard it is and how unfair the world is, she worked her buns off and was rewarded for it. Her desk now stands on the "glass ceiling".

As women are indeed equals, the government should close ALL of the status of women offices. As men dont need status of men offices, neither do women. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

  • Harper is Canadas G.W.B.

  • Go Stephen Harper FUCK BITCHES

  • Go live live your lives instead of blaming your failures on the current government., fucking losers

  • Just a couple of whiny, sassy, little hipsters with neither vision nor legitimate facts. Luckily i don't need to worry about Jokes like this, because last time I checked CANADA voted Stephen Harper in with a majority government. I don't think any other choice was acceptable.

  • you don't even have to give canadian women a pick up line

  • harper is shit

  • Harper is also against Marijuana. Vote for the Liberals in 2015 for legalization!

  • @gaminkalv fuck liberals vote NDP...Liberals are just lying about that to get votes...remember when they promised to cut GST what happened?

  • So, why is it that women don't realize that they are equal, and that the "fight for equality" in 2012 is practically bs, as they have achieved equality, they just need to take advantage of it

  • @KraphtyProductionz I'm a male and I do not believe women have the same equality rights as men. Why? They get paid lower in every job compared to males, the higher positions always go to men (ex: the government). Also, with the past history records, we own it to the female population from all the sexism they have faced. This is why I'm being a "man" to admit this fact.

  • @kyle0091000 You need to stop looking at average wages as if they're independent of all other variables. Here's a great video that explains wage discrepancy between men and women: v=EwogDPh-Sow

The truth is, sexism exists, but you're totally missing the ball as to where it exists.

  • @iSeeJayVee I have a girlfriend and some of my family members are females, I respect them and want the best for them. The truth is, sexism exists...yeah...what year is this? 2012. Get with the program.

  • @kyle0091000 I respect them too. But women being paid less than men is largely the result of career choice and society's expectations about a woman's role in the home. If you want to close the pay gap then you need to encourage more women to become involved in areas like engineering and science and more men to take a greater role in the home.

Because women are often expected to be primary caregivers, they often take lower paying part time jobs. The sexism exists, but not where you're looking.

  • @kyle0091000 Thank you for being one of the few men that get it. We are equal therefore we should be treated as equals.

  • So, what this video is saying is that Harper is the biggest A-hole ever? Hells yes he is!

  • Shocked! And women go to bed secret site: pp.cxx.ca

  • I'm a Canadian woman and all I heard from this video was "Harper cut funding to women's advocacy groups." That's what happens when you become dependent on other people's money; they reserve the right to take it away.

  • I think what Harper has done is the right thing, but I think he should go even farther. People are too reliant on handouts from the governmnet. Funding should be cut to every single non-profit organization in the country. If these organizations are smart and actually care about the cause they are for, similar organizations will band together and become more efficient and self-sufficient. There are too many "advocacy groups" that get funding that are doing the same thing.

  • @huttet1 Right, so all of the funding money goes to building jails, military and towards their salaries. He has budget cuts for education and health care, GREAT government the conservatives have done. Are you blind? Harper is an ASS-HOLE.

  • @kyle0091000 No, that funding that he cuts comes directly off the budget so that our taxes become lower. I think that there should be cuts in each and every single department of the government. I'm not saying the Conservative government is great, but it is a step in the right direction.

  • @huttet1 Yes, he cuts off the budget so our taxes become lower....yet there's HST and every year the taxes are getting higher. Wait, that doesn't make sense does it >.> The only budget I think the government should lower is their salary.

  • Oh look, another video where some lonely feminist women and some gay men make bullshit liberal propaganda and upload it to Youtube.

Want to bitch about a patriarchal society? Move to Saudi fucking Arabia.

  • @RustySporks Come on man, it's just people speaking out against what they feel is injustice. Regardless of political standing, what they are talking about is pretty horrendous. Lets just try to cut back on the offensive comments.

  • Shut your fucking mouths women. Stop saying you are for equality and then bitch when you aren't given preferential treatment. You can have foundations and centers for women when men get the same thing.

  • I hope Harper opens some `Status of men` offices now!

First order of business: beer, wings, hockey

  • I feel like people like mbarkhau's comment because they think it's a joke.

  • who cares. I use to date a canadian girl.. all the like to Do is sleep around there Dogs. I Hate canada.. The most Boreing country in the World! who cares

  • @abelfastlad LOL. Sounds like British women to me.

  • @ScottBrunelleMusic WoMen are already equal, they already can do everything men can do, but they are just scared or don't wanna do physical work, my girl sAid she would like to be a cop but she's to scared. So it is not our fault, it's there own faults.

  • @RickySouthwell Painting women with such a broad brush is never a good idea. Or an accurate one.

  • @Fezdani Mad about what?

  • I didn't know there were so many men who love Harper so much they start swearing and getting real angry if they hear anything negative about him. Or do they just hate women in general?

Probably both. So many comments sound like they are made by childish cave men. It's just sad.

  • @Fezdani Truth.

  • Wow. Somebody get the firehose, looks like we need to flush out all the troglodyte holes in Alberta.

  • I know lots of christian women, who like the line I am Harper I am a christian so vote for me...

  • @LivesForJihad Women wanna be equal with men but they sure don't act like it when they have special interest offices and special funding

  • Your feminist funding was cut cus I want wanna support you greedy bitches, we have a right to say what they do with our money and we said no to you feminists bitches.

  • @RickySouthwell U mad?

  • Pretty ashamed of all of the men who can't back women's rights here. Top comment? Feminist "bitches" are people who have the balls to stand up against the raging patriarchy that is north american society. I'm male and it's pretty easy to see. Equal on paper doesn't mean a thing.

  • Why are you people representing your political motives so childishly?

  • Looks like these ladies spent way too much time eating up all the bullshit their socialist-feminist professors fed them.

  • @gta405421 You mad?

  • @Fezdani Nope, just rational.

  • Your funding is cut because the Canadian people no longer support your programs. The Canadian tax dollar comes from our pockets. (your contributions were putting `We The People` in Debt )

  • He's cut a bunch of programs, not just for women. Fiscal responsibility is always something the conservatives have done. It's not that he hates women, or anything. But in Canada, when you cut any program, people freak out about it. (I don't agree with all of them myself) But what is trying to be done, is lower debts country wide. Yeah, some of these things shouldn't be cut at all, but at the same time, we can't get into a better situation in the world market without cutting back on things.

  • Status of Women? Last time I checked...women and men were equals. Why do we need special interest offices concerning "status of women?"

Bullshit! Get rid of them! Harper is showing the world that we are a gender equal nation, that we don't need "offices" to enforce equality.

Canadians inherently believe in equality, that is why the "status of women" offices were closed.

It's like having "the office of enforced freedom" In a free society...it makes no sense!

    Harper is the man!

  • Ha ha ha...lame,retarded canuck bitches!!!

  • TYPE CopsSayLegalizeDrugs ON GOOGLE

    VOTE LIBERAL

  • So what. There are still 4 out of the original 16 of your stupid money-wasting feminist bureaucracy. Four in excess!

  • harper is such a lying sac of dirt - google copssaylegalizedrugs

  • Comment removed

  • So this is what the Liberals spent all their money on....

  • what a waste of air time

  • Very useful pickup line, to weed out feminist bitches who think they have a right to taxpayer money to fund their ideological crusade.

  • @mbarkhau I'm totaly with you... couldn't of said it better.

  • @mbarkhau U mad?

  • @mbarkhau Settle down and grow up. Use your vocabulary, not lazy insults to attack people." Ideological crusade"? You made yourself look ignorant with that statement.

  • @ccaboom I could see you saying you disagree, but ignorant? Why don't you check out the youtube channel "manwomanmyth".

  • @mbarkhau And that sentence was a great way to weed out whiney, uneducated assholes.

  • @mbarkhau Everything you just said is a great guide to us women for weeding out stupid douchebags.

  • It's not only canadian women who have problems here so to young adult males.. I got falsely arrested and drugged by this facist government thankfully my charges were dropped and i have no criminal record but the drugs still effect me to this day! I AM LIVING IN NAZI GERMANY , FREEDOM IS DEAD!

  • @1988scottcarey what did you get arrested for. why were their drugs in your system? what kind of drugs did they use, if their is any residual drug traces in your system from something then you would have gone to a hospital got it identified then got a lawyer to sew the government, but no you did not do that. Instead you go on youtube and write it on a propaganda video...................... really try something else.

  • The best pick-up line with Canadian women is : I like Hockey, do you?

  • Comment removed

  • You know seeing all these sexist comments makes me embarassed to be a canadian. Everyone has equal rights and anyone who would say otherwise in my mind is a degenerate.

  • @tantawi1992 - Women have ^NOT achieved full legal, social and professional equality. Children are starving in our country of Canada. There is no equality here. Just ask the native women too.

  • @007nadineL why is that? Women are primarily homemakers, that has been their role for hundreds of thousands of years. And there is no professional inequality; it's like saying there is professional inequality against men because the majority of nurses are women. There are certain jobs women can't or don't want to do and this is perfectly normal too. Now go make me a sandwich.

  • @TheMarksmenCat - show me proof women's role for hundreds of thousands of years were primarily homemakers. You are really hilarious and/or that's the most ignorant statement in the history of humans. hH AHH A H ALOLOLOOHHAH H AHAH LOLOL

  • @007nadineL here is my proof: cunts give birth to babies. those are the cunt's babies. It's their duty to care for them. Tadaa. Can't go any further than that. BTW that sandwich is still waiting.

  • @TheMarksmenCat - let me guess, you were severely abused as a child and have repressed most of those memories. I feel very sorry for you and your mom.

  • @007nadineL Incorrect. I grew up under the care of two very loving parents. I just later realized that this feminist thingy and the whiny vaginas associated with it has gone too far.

  • @TheMarksmenCat - you were too young to remember the abuse. Physical abandonment is primary while emotional abandonment is proximal. You are in the child’s presence but your mind is “on the other side of town” as a line from a famous old song goes. The x-box, TV, PSP, Internet, DS become the alternative “parent” serving as the sounding board for the expression of needs and vehicle of learning.

  • @007nadineL No, I insist, I do remember my childhood. My parents were always there for me and willing to sacrifice their time to keep me away from the television and later on, computer. Don't you think I would be a junkie by now if I lived the childhood you just described? Come on, I hate whores, that's it!

  • @TheMarksmenCat - okay Mr. (?) can't remember childhood abuse, you can have the last word you poor thing you.

  • @007nadineL childhood wasn't that long ago! Hey, what has hatred of retarded cunts have to do with amnesia? huh?

  • @007nadineL why are you speechless?

  • @TheMarksmenCat Also, I don't condone your behaviors either. You're basically confirming everything they say by acting like an immature 15 year old. So seriously, grow up kid. We can't have any actual discussions anywhere with idiots like you roaming around spouting out crap that's the most ignorant BS imaginable, and you and I both know you wouldn't say any of this if people knew who you were. :)

  • @007nadineL - see, you answer you own questions. You don't need me.

  • Let women keep thinking they can do everything men can do. Sooner rather than later, common sense will prevail Let the stupid ho's change their own f-king tyres, carry the heavy shit themselves. Why aren't they plumbers, labourers , etc. Simply put , because physically 90% or more of them can't do it. Stop whining girls , YOU aren't equal to males. Any male with half a brain doesn't expect you to be. Equal pay for equal work is fair. Favourable treatment for women is PLAIN WRONG

  • @rodneys0909 well said sir. I don't see many of them working or at least willing to work in manutention, construction or even infantry. Believing they can use violence but no be on the receiving end!

  • WOMEN GO FUCK YOURSELVES

YOU ARE MISANDRIC PARASITIC MAN-HATING FUCKIN BITCHES

    F U C K - Y O U - F R O M - M Y - H E A R T

  • men don't have all these organizations that he 'cut'. I think he just wants to make women equal with men. Look at it as a step forward for civil rights.

  • @251251 You're trolling, right? That's like asking why White people didn't have a civil rights movement in the US in the 60s.

You obviously fail to realise the women's rights movement is the next civil rights movement. You can be an idiot and complain about the things you don't need (such as, men not having the same organisations) or you can help acheive something meaningful. Unless you hate women, in which case, sort out your issues.

  • Your obviously a wife beater or something without women there would be homosexuality and no buddy wants that, women have rights @123iamcanadian your a retard, men get everything jackass.

  • this video is pathetic, ive noticed that women are starting to have more rights then men, do men have ANY mens rights offices or whatever the fuck they said??? NO. so why should you bitches get it? amazes me how you can attack a party over something that every party would do....

  • Where are all the institutions for furthering mens rights?

  • Lol, legal voices for women.

  • @fragaboveyou YOU ARE A COMPLETE ASS!!!!!

  • blah blah blah women bla blah all about me blah blah blah... Im happy hard working people's wont be wasted on useless government programs... shut the fuck up and get to work you bums

  • Wow so much hating in the comments, this is why I don't give a fuck about politics, I just live my life how it is, Canadian woman REPRESENT, no need for hate comments, let's live in harmony, EVERYONE has a right to their opinion YES but when it's stereo typing ALL CANADIAN WOMEN, then well that's a piss off, just leave it be.

P.S- what ever happened to 'if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it AT ALL' ?????!!!! Fucking society -.-

  • @MegaBoners; As we have seen many times (UN Declaration of Human Rights, UN Declaration of the Rights of a Child etc..) UN declarations are often signed by the worst offenders and the UN's various committee's become kangaroo courts. I would be fine if Canada wasn't a signatory on any more UN declarations. However, PM Harper has been an active advocate and meaningful contributor to UN approved missions such as the war in Afghanistan and the enforcement of UN Resolution 1973 in Libya.

  • Thank god the government stopped wasting our money on these useless female rights organizations.

  • @fragaboveyou

Majority of Canadian women are sluts and alcoholics who love sucking big black cock. I would know since I live in Gaynada (Canada)

  • @Bomber0907 wow. No pride for your country.

  • I like how you guys are unbiassed and funded by the Liberals.

  • That would be PM Harper. Yeah the guy with the majority government

  • @tfcytcf The guy who refuses to sign the UN doctrine stating clean drinking water as a human right...

  • EAT HOT FAIL LIBERAL SHITBAGS!!!

  • @mesvidsfavoris GUESS WHO WON FUCK FACE? with a majority vote? you must be one of these women in the video...

  • Um? I think harper is a scumbag criminal but I still think the government has no business funding any of the advocacy groups mentioned. Ladies, fund your own damn advocacy/lobby groups! Don't force me to fund crap like this that only drives the country deeper into debt!

  • @gromtkn ?!?!? A single office dedicated to men? That's everywhere!

  • so he eliminated funding from some stupid bullshit communist programs that never deserved to exist in the first place!?

wow, how dare that evil evil man!!!

  • @suchafool990

Because anything that isn't a pay increase for a politician or a tax cut for someone who can afford to own dozens of yachts is a stupid bullshit communist program, right?

  • @InexplicableHat neither are right ok. just because you are against 1 type of partisan issue doesnt automatically mean you support another

  • @suchafool990

Except you likely support the conservatives, which means that you do in fact support the 'other' issue in this case.

  • @InexplicableHat thats an assumption and your own stereotypical viewpoint.

  • @suchafool990

So, what, you're a libertarian then? It's either that, a conservatard, or some wacky fringe party with no real status whatsoever that you voted for. Those are pretty much the only possibilities for the sort of person stupid enough to use the phrase "stupid bullshit communist programs"; take your pick.

  • @InexplicableHat well then theres your problem. you're ignorant about the differences between modern conservatives and libertarians and confuse them for being one and the same. I suggest you educate yourself and do some serious research

  • @suchafool990

I have. They're both idiots who promote anti-social "I got mine" policies. What's your point?

  • @InexplicableHat lies.

  • @ElProximo

    What's it like being illiterate?

  • @ElProximo

You appear to have memory issues. Your words:

"But my opinion is that of economists [sane economists disagree with you]. Who agree Harper was conservative with our surplus (and the government ought NEVER have such a thing)".

The government ought never have such a thing as a surplus? Why is having a budget surplus a bad thing, and why are you denying you said it now?

"squirrel, get hysterical and obfuscate. "

What is with the psychological projection and childishness?

  • Also in your words:

"I tell you the government ought not have a surplus."

Why the hell shouldn't the government attempt to have a budget surplus? Can you even provide an answer to this ElProximo, or are you going to keep dancing around the issues I keep presenting? This is rather immature of you. Honestly, are you even aware that a budget surplus IS NOT the same thing as overall government debt (and that budget surplus is ideally used to pay off some of Canada's debt)?

  • @ElProximo

    "I am teaching you"

You're doing something, but it is about as far removed from teaching as you can get.

"Now what I'd like you to do is tell me"

No, what you'd like me to do is explain over and over, repeating myself while you refuse to listen. I've already explained that the reason we got through the recession was because of regulations put in place BEFORE the recession, by a government other than Harper's. Harper didn't need to do anything, the work had been for him already.

  • P.S.

I thought Canadian Woman's favourite pick up line was "I got a lot of cash"?

  • With glasses like those and the lame brained man hating fem-fascists it is little wonder why people didn't listen to a bunch of obnoxious over dramatic hipster fruits.

They Voted Stephen fucking Harper just to piss off you hysterical freaks off!

Please take a shower and get glasses that DO NOT block your peripheral vision .

  • @ElProximo

Perhaps you'd be taken seriously if you were capable of demonstrating you actually know what a budget surplus is versus government internal/external debt. Can you provide a concise explanation of what government debt is (public debt to GDP ratio, external debt) and explain what a budget/annual government surplus/deficit is? Because until I see that you actually understand how debt works in governments (especially Canadian debt), I fail to see why anyone would take you seriously.

  • @ElProximo

Oooo, muddling the issue and avoiding answering any points I've brought up previously by using semantics when talking about budget surpluses. Such brilliant debating from the "budget surpluses are bad" genius.

  • @ElProximo

"try to help sort out your squirrel brain here"

Who knew that a bald, 50 year old man with glasses could be so childish?

"*fair warning - you better start doing better. soon."

Oooooooo, scary threats from the guy who gives us such brilliant statements like "the government ought NEVER have a surplus", because a country should always try to dig itself deeper into debt, right?

  • I've gotta ask everyone: is conservatard "Budget surpluses are bad!" ElProximo a total idiot who isn't actually aware of how stupid he is, or is he just a troll? I'm honestly not sure at this point.

  • @ElProximo

"During the recession I predict they would have been 'liberal' again with something more like US strategy bail-outs which didn't pan out so well."

You expected the Liberal party to turn around and act like Republicans of all things, the people Harper's government are currently trying to emulate? And yet Harper's policies don't worry you at all? You're one to talk about cognitive dissonance...

  • @ElProximo

"Its weird how you start accusing me of exactly what you are guilty of here"

Here's more of that psychological projection.

    "You now admit that Harper"

Perhaps if you had better glasses you'd actually be capable of reading properly for a change?

"You want to believe they did"

Belief or faith has no impact on reality.

"That's fine but its your imagination. Not reality."

I'm starting to seriously wonder if your obsession with psychological projection borders on being a fetish.

  • @ElProximo

"All you need to do is 'provide an article' showing me who was (minority) PM when the recession started and until now."

I've already pointed out why the "Harper was in power so he gets credit" argument is bullshit, try reading for a change.

You're resorting to basically ignoring everything I've already explained as some kind of debating tactic. Sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting "I can't hear you!" is only considered a means of arguing by children you know.

  • @ElProximo

Basically, you're incapable of understanding that debt = bad and having some savings for emergencies = good. You're acting like they were sitting on a literal gold mine without spending any money, when it was a surplus in the budget while our country is paying off its overall debt. God, you really don't know shit about the economy if you can't grasp any of this.

What I see is that you're not only a conservative, but apparently one with libertarian leanings. Why am I not surprised?

  • @ElProximo

"Harper was. You can fantasize and 'imagine' that Martin may or may not have done as good a job, but,"

No buts. One of the major platforms of conservatives (both in Canada and in the USA) is market/banking deregulation. As I've pointed out by providing references to things ACTUAL economists have said, strong regulations like the ones the Liberal party put into place before the recession were what saved our economy.

I fail to see you providing articles that repudiate this.
