Yes he can. If you go to the timeline on this video of 1 minute 25 seconds, you will see the head being put on. The actor looks through the neck of the bear suit.

That's an important point. We created an animatronic face that is quite animated. The mechanisms are fairly heavy, so it performs only in close-ups. Thanks for watching! It fooled viewers when it previewed on "Legends of the Fall" attacking Brad Pitt!
