  • this is the greatest Pavel Bure tribute video.. Ive probably watched it 100 times in past couple years.. great song choice.

  • not one of the greatest, THE Greatest player ever!

  • One of the greatest players ever, easily the greatest Canook...the team has failed to honor him. Seen any Bure jersies at the arena. Disgusting

  • @dirty30jr he was actually the first jersey i got

  • Yes that is our tribute to him

  • now that's a hockey player. best Russian player ever, top 5 of all time.

  • Bure is The Great One of Deking....Sub to me & ill have videos up by the holidays!

  • 20 Dislikes?...SUKAS

  • The Ynqwie J Malmsteen of hockey

  • I used to wear Micron Megas bcz of this guy

  • i can just imagine him playing with the sedins....

  • one of the best nhl hockey players ever

  • "Best hockey tribute ever....."

  • It such a shame that his knees were never able to keep with with him.

  • Imagine supporting a team that has never had any real superstars before... then all of sudden, a kid steps in and exceeds expectations. Something Vancouver supporters have never seen before. Bure's impact for Vancouver is comparable to Ovechkin's impact for Washington...but Ovechkin was a #1 overall pick and Bure was drafted in the late rounds.

  • @BruinsBeatCanucks If it wasn't for a loop hole the Canucks found Pavel would of been tooken first overall.

  • BEST RUSSIAN PLAYER EVER

  • I think in actual impact, Pavel Bure is responsible for more current fans than Wayne Gretzky. Just saying. HOF.

  • best hockey player ever?

  • @FredTrasnslated

    Let's not exaggerate.

  • Russian or not, he is our elite canucker. Pavel Bure, Forever a Canuck

  • Why'd he leave the NHL ?

  • legendary

  • He really was ahead of his time

  • why did he have to change to 96

  • ovechkin my ass

  • A quiet rocket with superb skills and speed.

  • so ... which do you people like better? the '94 run or the one they had this year?

  • @movitmovit The '94 went to the rangers because of Richter but honestly Linden deserved it more than Messier. It was a nail biter down to the last goal and last second. This year's run was good as well but they imploded game 7. It was a joke but that's no reason for the riot in Vancouver; Human nature, right? I digress. As for Bure, no one was like him at that time in terms of skill and speed. Imagine the rules now in place during his prime, no one would be able to touch him.

  • @CrashTestSnoopy i liked the '94 run better than the one this year, but that could have been the age i was at.

the way that they lost this time through was just so disappointing with the melt downs and all of the bullshit that came after game seven. i actually stopped being a fan for a few days until i got over my anger at those people. if you've ever seen the vid where the guy was trying to defend his truck from getting fire-bombed and they all jumped him and beat the shit out of him. scum.

  • my fav players of all time ....speed skills and styles :)

  • great video but real shitty music

  • wish we had him against the bruins, theres a player with heart.

  • Comment removed

  • @movitmovit bure in his prime completely outclasses the sedins. different playing styles they couldnt keep up

  • @aggie0810 did you hear that he got looked over for the hall of fame this year? total BS. just because someone there didn't like him. it had nothing to do with his skill.

  • Best hockey tribute ever......

  • My favorite player of all time.. god he wouldve been the #1 goal scorer of all time if he didnt destroy his knee. I guess you can say he was the Achilles of the Nhl history

  • So Linden gets his number retired because he did a lot of good things off the ice? Bure's performance on the ice is ignored during jersey retirement talk? Sorry, I disagree with this approach. Both players did great things off the ice with fans. I think Bure was the unsung hero off the ice and Linden was the better politician. Bure answered tons of fan mail with hand-written responses. Linden contributed considerably to Canucks Place (and was rewarded with unintentional photo ops)

  • Fuck I say he was the best player of all time to bad he kept getting injured

  • The Russian Rocket was the best player to ever play for the Canucks

  • One of the most electric hockey players i've ever seen.Bure, Gretz, Mario, Lindros YEAH I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS!!!!

  • afinogenov is the best

  • @17ZHEKA is that a fucking joke?...15 year olds can out work maxim.hes another russian plug with good wheels and hands..bure is that fucking man..and you know it

  • Bure is the only one who's jersey should be retired

  • @lebello

LOL, yes it should be retired or in the Ring of Honour but your saying the other 3 former Canucks with their jerseys retired dont deserve it? LOL shuttup dude.

  • In terms of raw talent, I think he's top ten all time.

    Damn injuries!

  • Truly one of the greatest players of all time.

  • You've gotta have passion and confidence to play hockey. Bure's skating

just proves my point. He skates with so much confidence and shunes players. All I have confidence is at my shooting.

  • You've gotta have passion and confidence to play hockey. Bure's skating

just proves my point. He skates with so much confidence and shunes players

  • If Bure played in the NHL today, we could enjoy his game for much longer. After 10-15 years league is much "cleaner", and knees, respectively, Bure would have been much healthier! ..... but unfortunately too many "would "..(((((((((((((((((((((

    P.S. From Russia.

  • БУРЕ ЛЕГЕНДА!

  • Everything you see on the highlight reels nowadays were being done by Bure over 15 years ago. He was before his time, and could do anything a superstar does today. And do them in a leauge that didn't have all the pussy rules it has now to free up the "superstars."

  • It's a real tragedy that his knees gave in; and it's an irony too, because I suspect the reason his knees gave in so quick was because of the friggen height on his stick--the shortest in the league.

  • He was like Sex on Ice......the most electrifying Athlete to ever live!............know1 ever looked sooo kool and stylish in those ccm tacks and that old canucks jersey

he singelhandedly made hockey kool in the mid 90's for kids like me growing up in Vancouver.........boy it was hard to get the privelage to wear the number ten on the peewee hockey teams growing up in vancouver back than ....i remember trying to fight off all the other kids soo i got to wear number ten and be like PAVEL

  • @mikepapa89 better then sex.

  • ya u dont get your jersey hung unless you play a whole career. he bitched out and dirt fucked his knees

  • @devlar49 LOL k bud ur noob is showing

  • @devlar49. K so I guess bobby orr shouldn't get his jersey hung then

  • 19 people are retarded

  • Bure > Ovechkin.

    Yea, I said it...

  • Screw Tambellini, #10 and #96 Should be retired for the Canucks!

  • so incredible. every hockey writer better know he is in the same breath as Gretzky, Lemieux, and Orr. But sadly, they don't talk about him as much. Best Russian player ever. Fastest ever.

  • i wish they'd retire his number but they won't cause he wanted out of Van and thats bullshit i'd want out too if they brought in an old douchebag and pay him more than me after scoring 60 goals in back to back seasons. Bure needs to be immortalized and let him play hockey forever

  • @JeremySwass Not to mention douchebag coach after douchebag coach.. like Rick Ley, Tom Renney, Keenan...

  • @Safeco1999 too true, alot of factors in him leaving but what can you do great player i will always be a fan of his play

  • Spam this message on canucks channel CanucksHD:

    Retire Pavel Bure's number 10!!!!

    I know its short.

  • haha i love how you throw bure's elbow on churla in there 3:13

  • I'm a die hard leaf fan...but there was nobody better then Pavel Bure during his time! Very sad he had to retire early! He would have been great in the new modern era of the NHL!!!!

  • @kennykakes LEAFS SUCK!

  • The impact that he made on the best players of today (Crosby and Gaborik to name two) is enough to put him in the hall of fame.

  • damn that was a great video, nice touch with the alter bridge song, went perfectly with it.

  • damn that was a great video, nice touch with the alter bridge song, went perfectly with it.

  • PUT THIS KID IN THE HALL OF FAME!!!!!!!!! OR AT LEAST RETIRE NUMBER 10

  • even in slow motion he looks fast

  • 19 people are blind

  • PAVEL BURE,THE LEGEND!!! my childhood sporting hero

  • Pasha prosto pesniya.

  • Паша, просто песня.

  • It looks so simple :)

  • pavel bure will school ovechkin if he's playing today...

  • great speed , great shot , great moves , what seperates him from todays superstars is that he can do everything at once while coming at you with tremendous speed ,

  • Alter Bridge Rocks as Pavel Bure!!

  • Imagine Pavel Bure now with the shootouts.. would be a treat to watch.

  • My sister find to marry someone gettop5.info

  • if bure played in the nhl now he would fly around the ice and score more goals than anyone

  • @kevingu025

indeed... did you see how much hooking he had to shrug off in some of these highlights. he was ovetchkin 25 years before his time.

  • I loved how he made everybody look either standing still, or like a fool.

  • The greatest player in Canucks history and easily the most exciting player in that time im so disappointed i was to young to understand and realize how amazing of a player he really was

  • I'm pretty sure he was 32, but math was never your strong suit

  • he endid whit hockey when he was 27

  • I love this video tribute...only 2 things I would change...the song is not a good one. The video footage is excellent but his greatest goal was the one he scored in game 7 vs Calgary and you make that one happen so quickly. I can tell you love the off the skate one vs Boston...how can you not love it. Very good job. Bure is the most talented Canuck ever. Wish he was still playing.

  • what a snapper and at 3:53 he made that defensemen his bitch

  • what a snapper

  • Very passionate player and great teammate, kind of rare for a russian player playing outside of Russia

  • In my opinion, he's the best of all time.

  • whoever disliked this video is retarded

  • Great job. We totally need a player like this again. Canucks may go into playoffs this year, but it will never be like 94! that was the best of times.

  • I gotta say, I am a huge Ovie fan, but this guy is on another planet. I don't think anyone has the ability to single-handedly dominate in today's NHL as he did....if he was up for it.

  • @sdmac21 Sadly I see alot of people who think Bure wasn't nearly as good as Ovechkin. When in fact he was much better.

  • @ 3:30 Pavel: "Why the fuck did you score??! My goal!!"

  • @3:31, dirrrttyy

  • Bure is definantly better than ovy. ovy isnt even that good

  • Bure was one of the rare players who was incredibly fast, but had the hands that could keep up with his feet. A pure goal scorer.

  • lol Bure was not better than Ovy. Do you realize how long a way goalies have come in 15 years? they were absolutely terrible back then

  • @MBergeron104 HAHAHA, you think Goalies are better because there's nobody fast and skilled like Bure in the NHL now. I'm not comparing the two, you can't... However, Bure was first and I'm sure one of the reasons goalies are as good as they are is from studying all the flaws of the goalies back then. On another Note, Bure, a much slower Bure scored lots of goals in the Olympics... That was only 10 years ago, I guess the goalies didn't improve till the latter of those 15 years you mentioned..

  • @MBergeron104 another thing smarty....In the trap-ravaged, obstruction era of the NHL Bure still managed two 60 goal seasons (92-93 and 93-94), as well as 59, 58 and 51-goal seasons. Keep in mind, two of those 50-goal seasons came as the only real offensive threat on profoundly awful Florida Panthers teams.

  • @MBergeron104 yeah look at how much more trouble jagr had scoring in his final few years o wait...

  • @GWO19 If you really think goalies have gotten worse nowadays then you are just too dumb to argue with.

  • @MBergeron104 the goalies are pretty much the same we aren't talking about the terry sawchuck tony esposito days we are talking about the days when brodeur was in his prime

hasek was winning the vezina every year and roy was winning the cup every other year

2001 was bure's last full season and he had 59g 5 years not 15 years before ovechkin.

did the every goalie in the nhl get substantially better in 5 years or are you just to dumb to argue with

  • @GWO19 Haha masterful comment.

  • #10 should hang from the rafters

  • @daydaviddunn sadly this will never, ever happen

  • @daydaviddunn sadly this will never, ever happen

  • @daydaviddunn I think so too

  • @daydaviddunn Where? New York?

  • Pavel Bure and Mario Lemieux are my 2 all-time favorite hockey players ever!!

  • 3:29 SICK move.... It's really a shame he had injury trouble.

  • I had never seen a player play hockey like Pavel Bure did, and I have yet to see one since. There are some great players today but there will always only be one original, after whom other players have patterned their game. Snipers today refer to watching him as they were ascending through the ranks, especially Europeans such as Ovechkin, Malkin, and Gaborik. Even Crosby said that he wanted to pattern his skating and acceleration after Bure.

Wake up HHOF!!! Bure for the Hall in 2011.

  • fucking rangers..........bure and the canucks should have won in 94

  • yes canucks should be the winner in 94

  • pavel bure really was an amazing player. he was always my favourite when i was a kid

  • BURE was the best thing that the Canucks ever had, period.

  • @TheRaunchyTofu Your 'bang on' with your comment! Alot of canuck fans, the city itself, and the ownership seem to have forgotten what they did and say about this person which ended up with him moving. He loved the team, his team mates and playing for pat quinn. They jerked him around come contract time and made him out to be the bad guy.

  • PAVEL BURE IS THE CHUCK NORRIS OF HOCKEY... as a matter of fact, Pavel Bure would destroy Chuck Norris in Hockey.

  • i met this guy back in toronto in 97 or 98 i believe, i told him in my hockey team they call me "the native rocket" he laughed and signed my card to the native rocket from the russian rocket, that was awesome, but i lost it when we moved, at 2:31 was my first canuck game i watched, isnt that the same game where kirk maclean made that sliding save and more thing bure reminds me of that colonel landan from inglorious basterds

  • Wicked song, Pavel Bure did his own thing that's for sure.

  • ooo crapp! 3:52 was dirrty!

  • Imagine Pasha playing with the Sedins...

  • I love this guy!!!

  • why did he quit so early? :(

  • @TNfelldin injury

  • I hate to admit it, but in this video Pavel Bure looks even better than Guy Lafluer, he looks like a hybrid of Mario Lemuix and Yvan Cornoyer, A leathal combination of brilliant stick handling ability combined with lightning fast skating, hard if not impossible to beat a combination like that.

  • @tnortonflynn goal scoring wise only Richard, Gretzky and lemeiux were better.

this guy was putting nearly 60 goals in dead puck era with fucked up knees even then.

  • @antikimbo I quit flowing hockey(at least closely) in the mid-eighties, I'd heard of Bure but until I watched these clips I didn't know just how brilliant he was, truly breathtaking.

  • Personally for me Bure is much more skilled forward then Ovechkin despite I'm a die-hard Ovechkin fan. Bure is my favorite player of my childhood and I think that's forever... I miss him.

  • Great player, Great sport, Good song, Great Video!

  • bure was my idol back in the 90s now look ima sean avery fan

  • the greatest player to play in vancouver canada wasn't canadian haha .funny

  • amazing quality for a 90's footage

  • in the goal where he puts the puck off his skate, he seriously looks like he's skating 500 mph

  • lets make this video hit 300k, seen this video like 30 plus times!

  • Jeez just imagine him working in a league where the defenseman can't act like an ice sled and ride him from the blueline in........I tend to think he would be setting new records

  • Bure Was My Fave n hopefully seeing Taylor Hall this season will be the same

  • The best russia player 4ever ,, Bure 4ever! Nice wideo.. :))

  • Bure is the shit

  • I REALLY HOPE HE MAKES THE HOCKEY HALL OF FAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! russian rocket. FTW! just look at this vid and others. he raped all the d-men in those days in the puck dead era. Oh if only his knee didnt give out. >:(

  • He faster than everyone else even in slow motion

  • the best. he could've destroyed anybody one on one with his just his greatest quality: his speed. he would either dangle them shitless or, if they're really good at checking, wear them down with his speed.

  • Damn I miss the good old Canucks logo, it was the true one, when hockey was aweosme and still a sport !

  • Comparing stats is what people who know nothing about hockey do, but either way, Bure is one of the greatest all time.

  • 1:14 jaw dropping..

  • miss those days

  • Bure is something like Ali in boxing, he showen another skating and another hocky, he played in 90s like we play today. UNIQUE LEGEND

  • what is the song??

  • Ovy is not as good as this guy was.

  • He was great and beautiful.

One of a greatest hockey players ever imho. And I'm sure that fastest.

  • in the 90´s the goalies start to play in the butterfly style and became a lot better than earlier. and also have in mind that the rules are different. this days are you not allowed to hook or hold players, in the 90´s there where defenceman who made their careers just by play like that.

bure is one of the most effective goalscorers ever.

  • pavel bure had his career in the 90´s when nhl was much more defensive than it is today an back in the 80´s. if bure had played in todays nhl he had for sure scored at least 65-70 goals in a season. you can´t compare player´s that play´s now and the guys who played in the 90´s.

  • i watched his games while i was living in vancouver 15 years ago. since then, i moved and i wondered how he was doing lately, like, which team he went to if he was still playing NHL or what he was doing if he was not playing at all.

  • @iceman168888 He's been out of the league almost 10 years now. I think he was traded to the Rangers and finally ended up playing in Florida where injuries forced him to retire.

  • @supercooled thank you very much for your updates indeed. much appreciated!

  • @supercooled other way around he was very good on florida for a few seasons then ended in new york.

  • Bure was great! (Jagr was better)

  • ovechkin is the better player bigger and stronger.

  • @themetalgod21 ovechkin is also slower, not as good at stick handling or at scoring goals

  • @Shewchuk he is just as good as scoring (76 goals in a season) which is more then bure ever had and his puck handling is awesome. He is also more physical.

  • @themetalgod21 I don't think Ovechkin's ever scored 76 goals in one season in the NHL o.o

  • @Perazn Neither has Bure?

  • @ilikehockey13 nono the guy on the last page said ovy scored 76 goals in a season, and I was just correcting him :p
