  • GO HITCHENS!

  • Its hard to hide your feelings when your body language is shouting loud. I haven't read Christopher's book on but i've read some shortened synopsis. Aslo I don't believe she was beyond reproach but I watched with interest how Christopher stood proud for the first 2 people he scathingly critiques Kissenger , Clinton but notice how he cringes in apparent shame on the mention of mother Teresa. Check it yourself about the 2 minute mark.

  • family dinners must be painful as hell

  • Hitchens hitchslapped Hitchens

  • Hitchens>hitchens

  • Seems to me like Hitchens used to pick on Hitchens when Hitchens was a kid. Glad to see things haven't changed for Hitchens.

  • @R2rGangstaFC that's absolutely true. Watching him in discussion with Laurie Taylor and he seems to think his big brother picked on him. Oops

  • Hitchens obviously won.

  • @MerveYoungki lol XD!!!

  • wait, Peter Hitchens is a Christian?!!?!?!?!??! *head explodes*

  • @sera7ares - Yeah, he is quite an arrogant one too.

  • TOO... MUCH... BRAINPOWER... ON... STAGE!...

    *Universe collapses

    ಠ_ಠ

  • I saw Peter Hitchens speak at the Cambridge Union this year, in a debate he displayed lots of presence in. Still, I'd really love to hear Chris speak there.

  • He means "English" not "Anglo-American" he is English and writes in English so he is English not Anglo-American.

  • @mwillis1000 CH has American citizenship and lives in the US.

  • @detahdomo

Yeah, i only found that out after i wrote that comment. Oh, well he is still British by birth.

  • Now that's wadda call a 'Hitch fight'.

  • Hmm...I have to say this went to Hitchens.

  • I hate the flashplayer these days.. It randomly cuts off, and starts at the begining again.

  • It's a pity Peter was nervous for this one, but I think it's to his credit that he's still got a lot of praise on here despite the sophomoric hero-worship of his brother. Both are terrific writers and men of conviction, whatever you think of Christianity etc.

  • @mrarcher857 To be fair I think Peter's arguments of atheism can be flawed, espicially when he is talking about How atheism influenced Soviet Russia, (which it did not) but even if it did. I do not see how that would dis-credit atheismin the slightest.

  • @bloodmercs I agree that Peter's defense of theism is more subjective and certainly won't convince any of his brother's disciples, for example. I'm pretty sure atheism 'influenced' Soviet Russia, check out 'Religion in the Soviet Union' on Wikipedia. And he never said that atheists doing bad things discredits atheism, he only objected to his brothers' portrayal of Soviet ideology as a form of religion.

  • @bloodmercs Seriously this is just a massive misrepresentation of the facts. Please review Marxism Leninsim, what it has to say about religon. Then understand that this is the heart of soviet communist thinking and genesis. Then accept that it explicitly calls for the removal of religion or belief in 'God' actively and as a central requirement of the communist society. Then return and apologist for trying to absolve anti-theism of a hand in Soviet thinking and actions.

  • "two eminent writers" correction: One eminent writer, one washed up old moralist reactionary hack who writes for the sister newspaper of the most maligned rag in circulation.

  • Epic win for Hitchens!

  • Wow, that was my college.

  • @rpsmith014 whooo gives a hit

  • @Deadjoe669 I couldn't answer that.

  • "the mail of sunday" .... I actually LOLed.

  • I think I´ll have to side with Hitchens on this one!

  • @FreeMason34

    Ohohohoho! What original wit.

  • Such gaping differences between these brothers. Excellent debate! Chris is great.

  • Wow I never knew that the brothers actually hold diametrically opposed views!

  • I have the same birthday as Christopher Hitchens!

  • I like how they're both called Hitchens

  • Peter Hitchens must have been conceived with a far weaker ejaculation than Christopher, who was clearly derived from the superior sperm in his father's ball sack. I wish that pious, Daily Mail columnist twit would go and build himself a church on a lonely island somewhere and spend the rest of his days telling his imaginary friend how fucking wonderful He is.

  • i love the laughs when they mention Christophers critique on Mother Teresa---like shes untouchable or some shit ahahaaa

  • I really agree with Hitchens!

  • Great fun

  • I have yet to get into Chris Hitchens books and now he has a brother? That's just as well read? Damn. Too many books and not enough time!

  • Part 3: Please do not interpret my verbiage of Christopher Hitchens for one of hate. I have admiration for Christopher Hitchens for his intellectual witty skills and oratory. I actually agree with him about 90% of which he so strongly affirms about religion and other books he has written. I just strongly disagree with him about the existence of God.

  • @atheisthelper

... you can't agree with christoper hitchens 90% and diasgree on his view on the existence of god.

his views on god are too essential.

  • @atheisthelper

Mhm, yea, did I just hear that his cancer somehow points to God because God said that drinking and gluttony (??) is a sin??

If you call anyone an "atheistic MESSIAH", you've already lost the internet. Permanently.

  • Part 2: Unfortunately he did not heed the wisdom of the Creator of the Bible: "Drunkards shall not inherit the kingdom of God." "a LITTLE wine for the stomach" the condemnation of Gluttony and smoking cigarettes a defilement of the flesh. But, still fools look to him as their atheistic messiah.

  • Part 1: Christopher Hitchens brother is a Christian, Christopher Hitchens daughter is a Christian Mennonite, and his own family know the real Christopher Hitchens and are not impressed with his intellect atheism, because they have not converted. Christopher Hitchens is a egotist, in love with his own voice, alcoholic, avid smoker now dying of cancer.

  • mirror match! FIGHT!

  • It's a mystery to me where Peter hitchens gets a reputation for being intelligent. His statements are fatuous, and the thinnest kind of gruel for someone eager to witness a debate of superior class, as would anyone attracted by the name 'Hitchens' - an attraction created singlehandedly (obviously) by Christopher. It is a pity Christopher didn't wipe the floor with him.....more than likely he was restrained by a filial sense of pity. What a waste of time it is listening to Peter Hitchens!

  • @MrLincolnj Your horribly subjective, and totally atheistic.

  • 3 dislikes? Just whose side are you on exactly?

  • @SmogHouseTradingCo: Y'all are killing me hahaahha XD!

  • Comment removed

  • What is Hitchens doing up against someone like Hitchens?!

  • im rooting for hitchens, hitchens is a jackass and doesnt deserve to win

  • skip to part 2... this is just 4 minutes of that jerkoff at hte beginning stroking himself

  • really ...peter WHO?

  • Hitchens definitely won this debate! :)

  • I've seen the Brothers Hitchens together before but their Iraq views are the most striking. It's the conservative who's against the war and the leftist who supported it, the exact opposite of what you'd normally expect,

  • @HeyThereKahl Actually, that is EXACTLY what you would normally expect. Unfortunatelly, the current state of left liberalism and conservatism isn't normal.

  • @HeyThereKahl LAso, I don't think you could consider Christopher to be a leftist anymore.

  • @RUBENSolol Well, both me and Christopher would disagree with you.

  • @ubernaffa Well, I'm not so sure about that. It obviously depends on how do you define political left and right, but he is not longer a socialist, praises capitalism and most definitely, he is not in any sense collectivist. He is still marxist, but probably more in the philosophical, than in economical way. If anything, you could call him "centrist libertarian", if that makes any sense:)

  • @RUBENSolol A very fair comment, I must say. Christopher is no longer a socialist as you quite correctly say, but I believe he has said that he reasoning for his new position is that there is no longer a socialist solution to the crises of capitalism. I would take issue with your assertion that he's no longer collectivist, as I believe he is. Obviously Christopher has a great amount of respect for individual freedom and autonomy, but has always made a point of how important solidarity it to him.

  • I'm sure this is the only video where we can say the frase: Hitchens got slammed.

  • Hitchens is a fool.

9-11 happened because of the US State(which Hitchens worships) occupying the Arabian Peninsula and funding Israel. That is what Osama Bin Laden said in 2001-October, 1998, AND 1996! The attack on the African Embassy was on the ANNIVERSARY of the US State occupying the Arabian Peninsula!!!

And either way the US State has no legitimacy committing larceny to pay for any US massacre anyway.

  • Hitchens is a fool. While he is dying he should think about the ONE MILLION Iraqi's that died because of the US massacre he supported.

  • @qwertypoiu4321 umm which one?

  • @jaroncreed

    Christopher.

  • Hitchens was clearly the winner. That argument made by the other hitchens was CLEARLY nonsense. Hitchens for the win.

  • I like the part when Hitchens speaks.

  • @Zarodako lol

  • Yeah... Hitchens took a sorry beating in that one.

  • This clip is purely introduction. No Hitch slapping whatsoever.

  • First comment is fucking stupid. That is all.

  • @InsaneGoonRules Yeah - because two wrongs make a right.

  • @askegg Karma is a bia*tch. HItchens mocked and laughed at Iraqi civillians dying at the USA/UK's hands. He said they were 'too wimpy' to free themselves.

What a c*cksucker. The USA put Saddam in power and then blame Iraqis for not over-throwing him. He's getting what he deserves.

  • @InsaneGoonRules Hitchens supported the Iraq war because he believed it would liberate the civilians, however it's a risk that some civilians will die during a war, the question is whether with Saddam in power more would have died in the long run. I actually didn't support the war personally, but from what I've seen that's his argument. His motives are good I believe.

I would think it unreasonable to say that someone deserves to die, especially when their motives were good.

  • @mikeyo1234 It is not only about how many people would die in the long run under Saddam regime. The real problem is, that Saddam regime would eventually fail and we would see the same sectarian violence, only there wouldn't bee any american, british, polish etc. soldiers to counter it. Also, countries like Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia (and perhaps Syria) would simoltaneously invade Iraq and made it much, much worse.

  • @RUBENSolol Sometimes I wonder why the people of such countries don't rise up when things get bad.

If the people are 'rescued' all the time will they ever grow their own back bone? Do all Iraqis see it as being rescued or do they see it as an occupation? Are they happier now than before?

Do you think we've made things better? Your predictions are feasible about what might have happened, but we don't know the future. It's a fair guess perhaps based on previous evidence. I am still undecided.

  • @mikeyo1234 Easy to say, hard to do. No-one wants to take a pounding - no-one wants to get tortured and killed. Also if you are a minority who is scapegoated (see Jews in Nazi Germany) then you can expect no solidarity from fellow citizens - indeed they may be encouraged to persecute you. Not everyone has the power of force and violence - it doesn't mean they don't deserve to live.

Not sure if the Iraqi's are better though - things seem to be getting worse before they get better...

  • @InsaneGoonRules

    You're sick

  • they both have a habit of putting pens/fingers in their mouths.

  • My grandmother commented on Christopher." Atheists finally get their little church now. they even have a convention (in melbourne australia) and have sub groups and different titles, oh Gawd.....well I guess it keeps them from sitting at home downloading porn"

  • @wiflk Intelligent woman. xD

  • WOW Htchens is a BAD MAN!!!!

  • is it just me or does peter seem to be a bit unhinged? i think he might be slightly on the autistic spectrum...

  • @111steven . I reckon, and christopher .looks like one of those tubby narcissistic. types you would see at your school library.

  • @wiflk

absolutely...but it works on him... he's the sexy intellectual asshole

  • I randomly was shaking me wet hair, at the same time he was tapping on the microphrone. d(:

  • Must be a bundle of laughs at the thanksgiving day, at their parents? :)

  • @Boadeciia both parents are dead

  • Best ass kicking ever.

  • Default win for Hitchens.

  • Hitchens' point was better.

  • @bighugejake lol you're a prick

  • i believe hitchens won

  • which hitchens?

  • I agree with Peter's view more, but Christopher is definitely the better speaker

  • LOOOOL!!! XD I have never seen christopher's brother before and when they first showed him i lost it! They just look so much alike and have the same snooty, angry expression! No offence, but LOOOOL!!

  • I like both of the Hitchens brothers. But I prefer the other Hitchens brother better than the other one.

  • @yellowlucky70

Think before you say each word.

  • Hitchens needs to go home and tell his mom about the ass whooping Hitchens just gave him.

  • Hitchens won by a landslide. Hitchens lost badly.

  • @7democracY7 I agree. Hitchens blew Hitchens out of the water.

  • Which Hitchens?

  • The one that looks much more like the other then vice versa!

  • @7democracY7 Big Brother is always right. d(:

  • @7democracY7 Funny. LOL.

  • @7democracY7

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @7democracY7 Christopher won by a landslide, Peter lost badly. :p

  • @7democracY7 I say he lost. It's all in your view point is it not? If your an atheist he won, if your a creationist his brother won. I say Christopher won that religions poison everything, and I concur. His brother later in the debate conceded to Christopher in agreement that religions have considerable amount of bloodshed on their hands. But, Christopher shows his lack of humility and demonstrates conceit, arrogance and pride by not even conceding with his brother on a Russian issue.

  • @7democracY7 dam...i was voting for hitchens to win but I guess Hitchens was the better man...

  • Great stuff Hitchens (Christopher). Peter, not so great. Learn from your brother's beautiful brain.

  • @AtheistMovement he can't. its impossible. hes religious... you know what statistics say about the ratio between the religious mind and the atheist mind

  • Christopher looks comfortable in that throne-esque seat there.

Also whenever the moderate says Iraq, I always hear "A rock." This confused me at first.

  • Hitchens blatently won this.

  • Hitchens, by definition, equals Christopher Hitchens.

  • Hitchens is no match for Hitchens.

  • I am incredibly excited to watch this

  • "AntiSnoopDogma", I wouldn't loose too much sleep about it. "EmilyGreene1984", as her name suggests, was probably only born in that year, so she's just honing her newly acquired debating skills, which she has clearly barely grasped from her 3rd rate college classes. Typical right wing dogma, she just needs to get out more.

  • As an example, here is this video from YouTube - watch?v=p-bY92mcOdk

  • emilygreen....I've read a few of your comments and couldn't go on because my head is hurting from the face palms Im doing. I've also come to the conclusion that you're an idiot.

  • So instead of trying to prove I'm incorrect in my statements, you resort to childish name calling. That's not a sign of maturity or intelligence.

  • Several individuals on YouTube have already documented on what I've stated by putting up the original videos taken directly from their original sources

  • Just because a view is unpopular doesn't mean it isn't correct. Look at the popularity of Barack Obama in the United States - he may be generally approved, but if you look really closely at his views - they are those of an socialistic liberal bordering on fascism. And to prove my statement, I've noticed that any dissenting conservative or Republican views are declared as "insane" by his Adminstration. Which is ironic considering he has no problem with liberal dissenting voicing to Republicans.

  • calling obama a socialist is truely laughable

  • Don't just say 'look closely at his views' as if it's taken for granted they'll reveal truth in your claim. List them and make a brief case-- IF you'd want to be taken seriously, which I and others would quite happily attempt for you.

  • 3) His hiring of individuals, who had or still uphold such ideas as putting containments in drinking water to control population levels as well as hiring individuals who have close connections with the group ACORN (with whom Obama has numerous ties to), to public positions such as the "Science Czar' or "Car czar". Amoung those he had elected to those positions, one of them proudly had admitted to being a communist.

  • 4) Also, I find it interesting his Administration is very lenient when it comes to grassroot liberal groups protesting in favour of their ideas, but when it comes to conservatives - he asks for the public to report them to put on a "watch list" of sorts. However, none of the questions that the conservative grassroots have put to Obama have been answered with proof to back their claim.

  • EmilyGreene1984: Firstly, these so called "grassroot" conservatives aren't part of a grassroots movement, unless that movement centers around the hatred of people who are 'different'.

Secondly, the liberal groups aren't the ones who are claiming the right to bring semi-automatic weapons to town hall meetings.

My head also hurts from facepalms, and I too can safely say that you're an idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • Real social conservatives wouldn't do anything of the sort, but if you want to talk about fascism - then there is certainly enough liberal fascism going around. I dare you to prove me wrong in that regard.

  • Big brother got the best of little brother that's for sure...

  • Thanks 4 posting! By the way, does anyone know... when was this debate?

  • 2008. in part 5, the moderator says "...80 years ago...in 1928"

  • I thought this was going to be a re-edit...Im kind of dissapointed

  • m k

  • Bethesda Maryland! WOOHOO!!!

  • I can't wait for Hitchens vs the Marvel Universe.

  • Perfect....

    Just.....

    Perfect.

  • @brokennarcissist Bahahaha! XD

  • @brokennarcissist Hey, leave polytheism alone.

  • @brokennarcissist I think this is the best comment on Youtube.

  • He has a brother?!?!?!?!!

  • You say that like he's to awesome to be related to another human, which he is.

  • christopher is one of my idols

  • Wow, I just found out he had a religous brother. What a clash, I can't believe I haven't ran into this debate alot earlier.

  • Same here. This is completely new to me.

  • they have, many times

  • (just not at this scale, that i know of)

  • watch?v=UcYv9hAkenI&feature=related

    watch?v=UcYv9hAkenI&feature=related

    watch?v=UcYv9hAkenI&feature=related

  • Yeah thanks mate! Thanks for telling me that!

    ;)

  • Idiots deluxe...

  • Peter Hitchens is the good kind of conservative

  • I couldn't agree more. Its wonderful to know there are still some people left in Britain who can recognize the moral failings of their homeland and not deny it and even promote it (like his brother). I do think its sad that neither brother can agree to anything, but in a way - I can sympathize. My sister is more of a liberal, whereas I'm very socially conservative. Anyway, it gives me hope that there are people like Peter Hitchens still in Britain. :)

  • Youy should try to be more like your sister.

  • No, thank you. I love my sister, but I don't agree with what she believes in, If I tried to force myself to agree with what she believes, then I'm not being true to myself and I'd be a hypocrite touting what she and Christopher Hitchens are saying when in reality, I don't trust or believe it to be right.

  • Agreed it is childish. But Social Conservatives outside of the U.S.A. aren't seen as Conservatives at all. They're far too right-winged. It is borderlined fascist. They would turn the U.S.A. into a theocracy if they could.

  • Well, being voted 8 times down clearly shows a majority of dissatisfaction on your part.

I would've done so myself, but once you've been voted down that many times, they disallow anymore of it.

  • Are you American?

  • Haha. Superb convo there.

  • Someone that is an intellect or someone that wants to reflect, do you always referr them as a nerd?

  • I have to agree. I thought it was a fight as well. Roll with the punches, Tian, it's only text comments on YouTube, after all.
