I think Ron could beat obama even without some great libertarian awakening. Republicans will support the nominee regardless of who it is, and Paul would probably draw in enough Independent and liberals to win, though who knows for sure.

The blood we as libertarians have on our hands come from the policies of George W. Bush, who did more to discredit free market ideas than any Communist ruler in the 20th century(all of whom actually CONFIRMED its validity).

I'm pretty sure that if the race came down to Paul vs. Obama, Obama would win. All he would need to say is that Ron wants to take away your social security, and the old fucks would come out in force. Obama wouldn't even really be lying on that point either. But the whole belief in belief thing makes total sense. It really doesn't matter how much evidence you put before these people, they just don't want to sacrifice their holy ideals.
Really? I think Ron Paul would wipe the floor with Obama pretty good by calling him on all his broken promises, on how he became 3rd term of Bush, something which no other Republican will or even can do.
@Akatam0t0ma Well he might have better arguments than Obama, and mop the floor with him on an intellectual level, but old people like their free money. And old people have nothing better to do than go out and vote themselves more of it.
@t3hsauce Ron have put some hopefully appealing enough arguments out (before atleast Im not uptodate) about in some way giving back money that has been taxed.........and obviously not cutting the old folks welfare who have nowhere else to go .......
If he'd manage to be eloquent enough it might just work I'm guessing
