"And I can walk past a field of animals with a clear conscience." Such a simple, beautiful statement, but it's so true. When you give up the carcass and adopt a cruelty-free lifestyle, you feel so much closer to animals and your heart is lighter as well.
I really dont know how someone could be a vegetarian. You eat bland-ass food 24/7,and it makes your life suck. There is NOTHING wrong with killing animals for food. From day 1 of the world, animals have eaten other animals in order to survive. Meat is healthy for you,its natural to eat them, and it is a form of population control. If we didnt eat meat, there would be a ton of chickens, cows, ect. overpopulating the world. we would have to kill them to keep the population down. I would die without meat.
@TheStrawberryFeilds There'd probably be less animals because humans force inseminate animals so to deliberately inflate their population to make more of a profit.
Also why use the cavemen ways to justify one's actions in the 21st century? the it's natural argument is often used, it would be a good argument in the stone age but nowadays we have access to so much more food and its so easy to go vegeterain and be healthy.
Why should an animals right not to suffer come before your tastebuds?
I find this very stupid. The animal is already dead while your eating it.
And it's called survival so we can kill and eat animals you would never see a bear
going vegeterian because the fish he eats are killed. And veganism is the dumbest thing i have ever heard of your body is lacking of vitamins your all vegans already noticed that you are sick.Switch back to meat think about what i typed
@programmer4561 you can eat fruits, it will be more ethinic and you won't kill a inocent animal, because them we cant pick a seed and put in the floor, but with a fruit we can use the seeds and plant more trhees
Although there is nothing innately wrong with eating meat, surely you can't deny that the mass-farming meat industry is nothing short of evil, and certainly not natural. Tearing teeth and tails off with pliars, castration, throat slitting and scalding, all without the use of painkillers cannot be justified in any sense, even if the animals are soon to die. Treating animals that are capable of pain and terror in the way they do is heartless!
Paul's actually the reason I became a vegetarian. My mom and dad were veggies in the 70s and talked about how healthy they were when they weren't eating meat. Then I saw Paul live last summer, saw how amazing his energy level was for a man old enough to be my grandpa, and I said, "I gotta try this!" I've been a veggie for a little over a year now, have lost 20 pounds, and feel great! And it's wonderful knowing that I'm doing a little to help all the animals. =) Yeah, Paul!!
@baseballgirl25 I once called a vegetarian organization for information on switching to a vegetarian diet. They were too weak to pick up the phone. No, seriously, I am very impressed by your story. This is something I have thought about doing for a long time, and I think I just might do it. There is no question about the cruelty to animals that the beef, poultry and dairy industries inflict on animals. I have had friends who worked for PETA starting back in the late 80's

Paul-You and John tied for #1 in my book.I want to tell you(pun)I just read an article about plants having intelligence...there was an experiment performed wherein probes were attached to five plants, and a dude walked in the room w/an ax, and hacked one into shit. The other 4 plants all registered all kinds of electronic signals. After the ax mrderer walked out, another guy walked in-no signals. Axman then came back in theroom-Helter Skelter(no pun)signals from the 4 plants.Whatdoweeatnow?
@HardforJesus -what the hell kinda name is that? You tryin to say you wanna...naw, hitler wasn't even that sick.I highly recommend a name change. Business, not personal. I don't think Jesus would like it, honestly. He didn't even do ladies, why would you wanna....awww---actually I just read what u said about my man Macca--keep the name, it fits you well.
The only problem with this is the fact that restaurants and grocery stores have already bought the meat, at which point the animals are already dead...so to really put an end to the production of meat, grocery stores and restaurants need to put more veggies on the menu and less meat items on the menu...it's hard to go anywhere that strictly serves veggies!
@markrobinault If there was less of a demand for meat they wouldn't kill so many animals that would end up in grocery stores etc. They're already dead because of the demand. Don't eat them and the demand for it will go down.
News flash, the animals won't be saved unless the government passed a law to force everyone to eat vegan (which would then make us no longer the "land of the free..". So stop spreading this stupid message wasting your time.
@Tsteve08 Are there laws against eating human flesh? That's what the soccer players did to survive their plane crash in the Andes Mountains. Did they get arrested?
@Tsteve08 Would you die for your country? To stay free? Well, then, when you die, you should donate your body to McDonald's and become the first McHuman burger. You will be famous posthumously. Better late than never.
linda m food is prosessed garbage. It isn't vegan either and the dairy and egg industry is resp. for so much animal death and cruelty, so vegan all the way.
I agree that meat consumption is gross and the farmers even more so. However I also agree with with DetractMedia......Linda McCartney products used to list on the ingredients that they contain palm oil. Since it has become apparent that palm oil plantations are destroying orangutan habitats and many other environmental issues too, the listed ingredients have been altered, it now states vegetable oil, but which one? Ought to be olive oil as that's the best one, or is it just not cost effective?
@Falchion43 Yes our ancestors may have been vegitarian but the humans must evolve and have if their was no change we would be both be siting on a rock in the middle of the forest.
@666BlackFlames looptheloopable just told me this and it is freaking true, if you think meat eaters should be locked up, but you like Ozzy Osbourne who bites the heads of bats, isn't that meat eating #Fail
Stop preaching bullshit to the world McCartney & get real with your ethics...GO VEGAN!
Vegetarianism is just as cruel as eating meat you greedy hypocrite and you know it. If only the places where your ingredients came from had 'glass walls' as well?
you know that in the growing, cultivation and harvesting of wheat, many many animals die. Don't think Sir P can walk past a field of wheat with a clear conscience.
Its important to save animals and not kill them.If animals are brilliant or not, human beings are intelligent enough to understand the pain of these animals.I'm sure any non-veg person seeing this video will stop him from eating these. The fuckers doing all these dirty jobs must be killed at once.If it is legal to kill animals then why not these bastards??????????
Well done Paul. Speaking out and showing that animals on a plate is NOT the only source of protein.
I'm recently vegan after years of vegetarianism. I feel good about myself knowing I'm doing good in the world- eating a healthy diet and experimenting with food more and more. It really does feel good knowing no animal has had to suffer for my daily diet.
@GeoiMD I don't know what your friends lifestyle is. Maybe he didn't eat enough protein-rich food or vegetables. But what I do know is that study say that vegetarians live longer.
I'm curious. Can you really get the amino acids your body needs without eating meat? I have a friend that is into weightlifting, and went vegan for about a year and a half. In that time he lost about 15 lbs of bulk muscle, and wasn't able to lift as much as he could, though he'd continued training. He thought he had cancer or something, but his doctor said that the amount of physical activity he did in a day was very difficult to sustain without the proteins and amino acids you get in meat.
After the first 3 weeks, I never went back to animal based foods. I didn't even crave them anymore. I feel 1000x better. I didn't believe them until I tried it.
I have only succesfully been vegetarian for 5 days after 17 years of eating meat in a meat eating family but he is right, there are many meat subtitutes of there such as quorn or him and his wifes brand which is very tasty!. Most of the meat subtitutes taste very similar to what they are suppose too and you would have to really taste analyse some of it to tell the difference. Each subtitute gives you a perfect ammount of protein and everything meat can give you so hopefully i will keep going! :)
One day my friend and I got in a discussion about why Im so obsessed with the Beatles mainly Paul McCartney. She said to me 'Why are you so obsessed with him? Its not like he's changed your life in anyway'. I said 'Of course he has! Before I learned he was veggie I always thought vegetarians were weirdoes. Then I realized that they werent really. So I became one myself. I learned guitar and started writing my own songs because of him too.' I did all of that because of Paul McCartney.
@xXbeatlesXx04 “I used to think anyone doing anything weird was weird. Now I know that it is the people that call others weird that are weird.” - Paul McCartney
@xXbeatlesXx04 In his novel Tom Sawyer, Mark Twain writes about a church service where the faithful ignore the preacher and focus instead on the mesmerizing beatle in the church aisle. Mark Twain said he came into this world on Haley's Comet and predicted he would leave on Haley's Comet, as he did. Just like Beatle Paul McCartney, Mark Twain abhorred cruelty to animals. I agree with cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer -- eating animals is no different than eating humans. Dahmer didn't eat any vegans.
McCarthey had a heart incident and needed a stent or something according to UK papers and he wasn't even 65 years old. All these stars (and I like McCartney) jetting all over the planet while BP dumps their fuel in our oceans. This is natural? Please! Become a chicken farmer, give up the electric guitar, certainly quit the jetting and motor-carring and then we'll listen. But preferring eating corn while BP'ing our oceans makes no sense of risk at all!
I don't understand people who say they can't give up meat. I'm not saying this to be a bitch and piss people off but I really don't understand. I woke up one morning and stopped eating meat. That's how easy it was for me and I've never craved meat since and it's been almost two years now.
@anna0414 maybe think of giving up meat like giving up smoking. Some people can just quit smoking cold turkey like you and I can with giving up meat. For other people, it is harder to quit smoking and quit eating meat. That's how I see it.
If you consume less total animal products than when you were omni, then you're doing a good thing being veggie. Just be careful you don't start consuming more dairy and eggs than you did before. Eggs and dairy are just as cruel as meat.
Being vegan is not hard. Take it one step at a time: buy a book like Becoming Vegan, by Vesanto Melina & Brenda Davis, or just check out the Vegetarian Resource Group website. :)
If you are trying to be a vegetarian but feel like you miss the taste of meat, try to supplement with coconut oil (use it as a spread on breads and just add it to dishes) - this takes the craving away very quickly, as what people are most likely to crave is actually the fats.
I'm a vegetarian! If you're not then you're just ignorant...read Skinny Bitch and get the facts before you decide being a fucking carnivore is right. Those of you who eat meat are so stupid, read into it then you can come back to me and say you still want to eat meat...if you had all the facts, trust me you wouldn't.
Ok I'm not saying that you're wrong.... but calling people who eat meat stupid isn't helping increase the rate of vegetarians at all. :/ Be a little tactful if you want to encourage people.
This makes me want to be vegetarian now. First of all the vid about the cruelty to animals and the fact that Macca is a vegetarian as well. I've looked up to him in respect and want to try it.
i've been a vegaterian since oct 08, or even before that, and i have gained weight, i don't miss meat at all, and ppl who say that meat helps put meat on ur bones, it's a lie, being a vegaterian is the bets thing i have ever done in my life :D
im 13 and i've resintly gone vegan it can get hard at times when you crave dairy produce but i feel its way worth it my parents thought it was stupid but i think im doing it cause its my body and i want to make a change. so good for you :)
I've started vegetarianism this year and will be continuing throughout 2010 and beyond. I'm also a teetotaler and a non smoker with a concern for my health. I've started to feel much better as a result and if this is how it is for me all the time, I'm very contented!
Good on yer Macca. I've been veggie for over 20 years and never had any health problems, in fact I feel more energetic. I've never had to make sure I get enough protein or take extra vitamins or any of the other lies that are propounded. Diet is an extremely personal choice in my opinion, you are what you eat after all. I've never liked meat so if you do then have at it, but if you don't then I'm pretty sure you don't "need" it.
@KrisRamJ Rumor has it that when St. Francis of Assisi died, his donkey shed tears. On the very sad day when Paul McCartney leaves this planet, so many animals will cry so many tears that the United Nations will have to build a Noah's Ark. To Sir Paul with love. When we named you "the cute Beatle", we meant your heart as well as your face.
@KrisRamJ When Sir Paul sang Yesterday he was telling the planet fans that when they eat flesh they are eating turds (yesturday). Eat dates, not turds, barbarians. Do it for the planet and do it for Paul (same).
@KrisRamJ The United Nations and Interpol should pass a law that anyone who tests positive for meat is banned from all Paul McCartney concerts. And an international secret police force should be created that takes away all Beatles records from all meat-eaters, to include vinyl, 8-track tapes, cassettes and cd's, plus any copies of Beatles movies. (Job creation.) Where is James Bond when we need him the most?
Dirty computer screen in the background! =) I'm veg. and I feel great! I've been vegetarian for about 9 years and have not gotten sick as often as I did when I ate meat and I feel like like have more energy. Do I really have to mention the moral comfort I feel knowing that an animal didn't have to lose it's life to feed me? GO VEG!
i been veggie for about 25 years.. I was saying to my sis that I dont eat meat, fish or eggs, and she asked.. my goodness.. what DO you eat? I thought about it and replied.. probably about a thousand different flavours that you never get to taste!
@lynleyinlondon Paul McCartney is like a wealthy version of Mother Teresa. Let's ask the Catholic Church to make Paul McCartney the first living saint. And the first rich one.
it depends on the day, yesterday i didn't have any meat, today i ate some chicken. i go back and forth. i can go almost a month without meat, then decide i want a steak. my body must want the iron or something. oh well.
being a vegitarian isnt enough vegans the way. and just because you choose to be vegan or vegitarian does not mean that animals are still not being harmed. when i grow up i plan to buy a farm and hopefully save some animals that would otherwise be slaughtered or abused and give them a good life.

The only problem with this is the fact that restaurants and grocery stores have already bought the meat, at which point the animals are already dead...so to really put an end to the production of meat, grocery stores and restaurants need to put more veggies on the menu and less meat items on the menu...it's hard to go anywhere that strictly serves veggies!
markrobinault 1 year ago
@markrobinault Trust me. When people stop buying and ordering meat, then vegetables will magically appear everywhere. Greed is good.
etbella3 1 year ago
@markrobinault If there was less of a demand for meat they wouldn't kill so many animals that would end up in grocery stores etc. They're already dead because of the demand. Don't eat them and the demand for it will go down.

News flash, the animals won't be saved unless the government passed a law to force everyone to eat vegan (which would then make us no longer the "land of the free..". So stop spreading this stupid message wasting your time.

I respect vegetarians because I do think it's a healthier alternative to eating meat.
However I prefer meat, because to me, a hamburger is delicious while a veggie burger tastes like chalk.
Milk is delicious. Period. And soy milk is just tastes like rice flavored water.

linda m food is prosessed garbage.

The fuckers doing all these dirty jobs must be killed at once.If it is legal to kill animals then why not these bastards??????????

Well done Paul. Speaking out and showing that animals on a plate is NOT the only source of protein.
I'm recently vegan after years of vegetarianism. I feel good about myself knowing I'm doing good in the world- eating a healthy diet and experimenting with food more and more. It really does feel good knowing no animal has had to suffer for my daily diet.

So I became one myself. I learned guitar and started writing my own songs because of him too.' I did all of that because of Paul McCartney.

That's how easy it was for me and I've never craved meat since and it's been almost two years now.
anna0414 1 year ago
@anna0414 maybe think of giving up meat like giving up smoking. Some people can just quit smoking cold turkey like you and I can with giving up meat. For other people, it is harder to quit smoking and quit eating meat. That's how I see it.
flowerlullaby 1 year ago

MTyvie 1 year ago
I'm a vegetarian! If you're not then you're just ignorant...read Skinny Bitch and get the facts before you decide being a fucking carnivore is right. Those of you who eat meat are so stupid, read into it then you can come back to me and say you still want to eat meat...if you had all the facts, trust me you wouldn't.
ziake14 1 year ago 4
Ok I'm not saying that you're wrong.... but calling people who eat meat stupid isn't helping increase the rate of vegetarians at all. :/ Be a little tactful if you want to encourage people.

When we named you "the cute Beatle", we meant your heart as well as your face.
etbella3 1 year ago
