It's a pressure-sensitive device that generates a vibration. You apply it to the base of your neck and turn it on. The device start vibrating and the vibration is transmitted to your throat, so you can move your mouth and the vibration generates the artificial voice. The more you push on the device, the higher the frequency of vibration, so you can learn to modulate and give it an almost natural inflection.
No, fortunately I'm not (I have videos online where I speak and sing with my natural voice: you could've just watched those to know :-P )
But I'm generally interested in automation, and I once saw a man in a store speaking with what, at the time, looked to me like a "bionic" device of some kind, and that made me curious. Thinking it'd be impolite to go ask him about it, I gave a quick glance to see if I could see any brand name on it (I did), then I looked it up online when I got home.
@tenderlovincare89 alright here is how the artificial larynx works when the person after has surgery he/she mus find a way to speak so this electronic device works by helping the patient to speak! and here is how it works! the artificial larynx works by pressing the device against there neck or by their chin and there is a buzzing sound when the person speaks sounds kind of robotic but it helps the person speak and the person mouths their words ! as the tru tone gives fluctuation !
@tenderlovincare89 so they can do any pitch with moving the button light to make it low or hard to make it sound higher!!!!!!! and it sounds more natural actually! how do i know all this ? i know some people who use them! sometimes it is hard for people to understand them but i understand them! they have a voice disability to speak or not! i know it sounds complicated but it's true !
godbless you

Like the talk box, you could be able to sing Sweet Emotion at the intro.

It vibrates in place of the larynx, which has usually been removed on users of these devices.
