The culture of Mississippi will always be this way, especially in the Delta. The obesity problem is not a new problem at all. First and foremost, parents need to get off their couches and make their children do the same. Turn off the TVand the video games, go outside and move. The FS program needs to be overhauled as well so fattening "snacks" cannot be purchased. Physical education programs need to be put back into public schools regardless of whether the child participates.
