Actually, a landslide election refers to the electoral vote, not the popular vote, because Reagan had a landslide in 1980 and received 50.7% of the vote. The fact that Obama is the first "African American" president is of little credit to Obama. It is a credit to the American people on the issue of race. America set aside racial differences and elected a black man with a middle name of Hussein in the middle of the war on terror. America was smart enough to not succumb to irrational fear of his skin color and his middle name. The word choice Nader used was poor.I am however more disturbed that no one sees an issue with why he feels Obama is more responsible for doing what is right for the black community. Would we be having this discussion if McCain won? If we said he should be responsible for taking care of his own, that would be racist. Actually, a landslide election refers to the electoral vote, not the popular vote, because Reagan had a landslide in 1980 and received 50.7% of the vote. What made it a landslide was Carter being held to double digit electoral votes. So, truth be told, Obama did not receive a landslide but he did receive quite a mandate in the electoral college.

I voted for Obama, but my politics inclines more toward Nader. I understand the context and that he probably meant nothing by it...Many people are sensitive to any proposed racial epithets especially with a minority for president. With that being said, Nader is just a bitter old coot that just wanted to get his two cents in as he was irrelevant during this election! The potentially offensive remark means Nader could have presented his stance in a different manner, correct, but it doesn't negate the validity of it. And it sure as hell wasn't said out of spite, because it's directly in line with what Nader is constantly stating.
As for Nader being a bitter old coot, you must be thinking of different person. Ralph Nader has a long, remarkable career committed to improving the country and the lives of the Americans that occupy it.
