They're called Dave Matthews Band because when they first started gigging they didn't have a name. When they got asked it for adverts and stuff, Leroi used to just say 'Write down Dave Matthews, we haven't got a name yet' but it ended up as 'Dave Matthews Band' and it just stuck.
