  • ist das jetzt sorbisch??

Dachte s'wär serbisch wegen dem titel...

heisst das "gib mir ein armes Ei" ??

  • @jugonugj Es soll "jedno" sein, nicht "jadno". Ist wohl 'n Schreibfehler. :) Daj mi jedno jajko, daj mi ljubej dwě.

    Druga strofa:

Ty sy taka wikotata, Ja pak taka njejsom, Ty sy taka wikotata, Ja pak taka njejsom. Daj mi jadno jajko, Daj mi jadno jajko, Daj mi jadno jajko, Daj mi lubjej dwě?

  • da ulica jel ti to poznato

  • @suvoborska

  • Hornjoserbsce

  • We know that the Lusation Serbs are far away cousins of the Serbs in Ex Yugoslavia.

I hope you people don't drown in Germany and that you preserve your beautiful slavic language.

I love this song. It sounds so much like the kind sung in Serbia but we have different sounds which were preserved since the Byzantium periods to today's music styles.

  • @sneighwena Im afraid they wont survive any longer.Wikipedia says only 150000 peopl can still speak serbian language and they are mostly elderly people

  • zawsze trzeba walczyc o swoja kulture i jezyk.

    pozdrawiam

  • I just hope that young sorbian girls know the lyrics too!:-) Kultura užických Srbů nesmí zaniknout! Pozdrav z Čech!

  • "wszystka rola podorana, nasza leży pusta" - piękna piosenka, great song!!!!!

  • @wladzilla Koji je to jezik? what is this language?

  • @suvoborska "wszystka rola podorana, nasza leży pusta" - to język polski (polish language)

  • @wladzilla thanks. Pozdrav iz Srbije.

  • @suvoborska

    Suvoborska ulica? :)

  • da sto?

  • What if all romance languages should be replaced with Latin, the Germanic ones with Icelandese and slavic ones with Slavonic? After all all the Arabs consider the Arabic to be their language in spite of the fact that a Maghrebian cannot understand an Egyptian and all the Chinese do the same with Putonghua, but Cantonese and Beijingese are mode different that English and French!

  • well, while all Romance languages are descended from Latin, there are other related languages from the time of Latin that were closely related; and while Icelandic is the most conservative Germanic language, it is more towards the original NORTH Germanic language (i.e. Pan-Scandinavian; Old Norse), and not original West Germanic (Old Saxon, Old Frankish, Old Alemannic etc) or East Germanic (proto-Gothic). We only have reconstructions for "Germanic" (same as with Slavonic as OCS is South Slavic).

  • Dai mi jedno jajko = give me an egg? This is a kind of Polish?

  • vsi slovanski jeziki so si podobni = all slavic languages are similar!

  • Right. More similar than the Romanic ones (still I claim that any educated French/Spanish/Italian/Portuguese should understand 50% Romanian) and definitely more similar than the German dialects (no educated german can understand 50% Islandese). There should be an explanation.

  • later divisions? After all, the Germanic groups must have been split long before AD300, since Wulfilas' Bible in Gothic is East Germanic, and so clearly different to any forms that could have created modern North Germanic (Scandinavian) or West Germanic (continental, +English, Afrikaans and Yiddish); an educated Englishman may be able to decipher German, but the amount of Romance loanwords in English makes it quite circuitous.

  • Maybe. 1500 years ago all Europe (except Bysantium) was dominated by Germans: Logobards and Ostrogoths in Italy, Visigoths in Spain, Franks in France&Netherlands, Vikings (Rhoss) in Ukraina&Russia, Vandals in Maroc, Algiers%Tunisia, Saxons in UK. Too few to remain monolithic. And the scre language was Latin...

  • of course, there's a difference between "Germanic peoples" and "Germans" though; otherwise you may as well say that England should be given to the Germans. Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, Polabians and Sorbs are different but closely related people, just as English, Dutch, Frisians, Germans and Afrikaners are. The Germanic languages, like Romance, are 'centum' languages and Slavic are 'satem', it is believed the 'centum' languages broke off from Indo-European earlier.

  • Of course. I propose that England, USA, Australia, Canada, Germany, Norway, Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark should be given to Iceland - Icelandese is considered to be the most pure Germanic language. Agree?

  • Icelandic is by far the most 'pure' (if by 'pure' you mean 'conservative') Germanic language. English and Yiddish are probably the least (large parts of the syntax and vocabulary are borrowed). But what connotations does that have? Does not one man's "pure, uncontaminated" equal another man's "backward, unsophisticated"? This is the problem facing many minorities speaking traditional languages, like Sorbs, Brétons, Ladins. Preservation of national culture does not have to equal separatism.

  • I understand;)

  • Pozdrav braci Srbima

  • (i)

  • Niech żyje naród i język Łużycki!

"Srejźneje Łužyce" i śpiewają dlalektem pośrednim pomiędzy dolno a górnołużyckim.

  • Is there a English translation of this song that I might be able to learn the translation into Lower Lusatian/Sorbian from? I would like to learn this and Upper Lusatian/Sorbian. Very difficult here in the USA.

  • "Daj mi jadno jajko" means "Give my one egg". This is the slavic tradition. Girls gives painted egg for boys who she`s likes. If You interested Sorabian folklor just mail to Sorbian organisations like "Domowina" or "Ponaschemu". "Ponaschemu" is Lower sorbian organisation.

  • free Lusatia!!!!!!!!

    fredom to Serbja!!!!!!!!!!

  • Deine Deutsch ist "sehr gut" hahahaha!

Slunski dutch? Wo ist diese schule?

  • also in serbian-give me one egg-daj mi jedno jaje!

  • In polish "Daj mi jedno jajko" means "Daj mi jedno jajko" in english "Give me one egg"

  • Da mihi ovum unum. The Slavic and Germanic languages are Indo-European, like Latin.

  • Da me uno huevo - in Spanish (huevo - written - like hłova, głova in Polish/Slovians; pronunciation: uebo/łebo - łeb - in Polish; a sinonim of ball/kula), more similiar to Slovian not to Latina! So strange!

  • How in German language sound "Daj mi jedno jajko" LusatiaPax? You are specialist in "german" folklor.

  • Of course. I`m a Polish imperialist :-) I`m just Pole who refused germanization. Germans did the same in Poland from centuries. I just want to show You how it`s taste.

  • Do you understand written text?

The question was: How will Germans say "daj mi jadno jajko" (Eng. "give me one egg")

Moreover, you, as a German, should be ashamed to call anyone the imperialist.

  • Comment removed

  • Polish Imperialism?!!! Tell me friend, when Germany estate will give back to Holland East Frisia, which is a Niderland part? and the others teritories ocupated and exterminated... Schleswig-Holstein (Danmark), and much more...

  • Sounds like the one from NPD party from Lower Lusatia. Same arguments. Are one of them?

  • Sounds like the one from NPD party I heard in Niederlausitz

    Are you one of them?

  • Schlezwig Holstein was Slavic settled by Slavic Obodrites who was conquered by Danes in middleages.

  • Again you show your ignorance. This is Lower Lusatian (Niederlausitz Wendisch)song. Just look at the map where those places mentioned in this video are shown or you are too lazy to check.

By the way, you may regret the extinct of ethnic German folklore, so consequently let the others be worried about Slavic Lusatians. Get stuffed with your politic and ideologic rubbish!

  • was wilst du genauer damit sagen

  • ??? Just write what you're talking about?

    English, please.

  • i just wanted to say how incredibily similar do the melodies of Sorbs sound to the melodies of Resian (slovenian) minority in italian part of julian alps. on thi particular case search youtube for:

"Citira a Coritis Val Resia preparazione"

  • this nation is very important and very incredible. This situation hasn´t the analogue. Lusatian Sorbs are on the same territory from 6th century and their catholic part use old grooves to our ages. I like this nation.

  • Slava!!! Walczmy o zachowanie łuzyckiej kultury i języka!!!

  • haha :)
