What? No drums? No sythisizer? No electric guitar, no "praise team" holding microphones drowning out the choir? No big screen powerpoint presentation with the song lyrics projected over the pulpit? No "worship team leader" hollering out the song lyrics between verses?? Well brethern, this just won't do! lol. In all seriousness, there is a place for contempory music in church, but we shouldn't throw away our traditioal music just so we can be "hip" and attract a younger crowd.
@patrick9648 I actually left a contemporary Evangelical church last year to go to a traditional Protestant one. I enjoy worshipping God with an organ and in the choir loft better.
Seems like a smaller instrument with a major pipe thrown in, Wish I had that where i play but I have a Tuba Mirablis which might even be louder i'm not sure.
I'm glad you shed some light on which Holy Family church it is. I was expecting the Churth of the Holy Family in NYC, which is a 5-manual beast of 100+ ranks, as I recall.
Well... In Holland our church indeed plays organ, more evangelic churches have those guitar things and stuff... Its ok for a sing-in though. But here we do the sing-in with church aswell... but with uhm.. more modern songs. We use to sing Psalms... Which I still prefer for a service indeed.
This is A-mazing!! We loved it. Can you please give us a private lesson on your 863 pipes?!?!? Trueski. Get back to asap. and p.s your suite looks ravishing!!
Ok I have replied to this 3 times but youtube wont post it. Go to sheetmusicplus(DOT)com and search for An Album of Trumpet Tunes for organ. If you look through the contents you should see Trumpet Voluntary by John Stanley
@mouritz123 I try certain toning like this on guitar and bass...It's sweet indeed, but I use use hebrew trumpet words for the toning. Hence "Hebrew movement."
@AllAmericanFE .... Really??? our Schantz organ was built in that exact same year for my church in Columbus OH (well, really Dublin OH, but, close enough)... Dublin Community Church. The organist at the time was an uptight librarian named Ann Moore. She might have been mean and nasty at times, but, she was an incredible organist!
This sounds nothing like the trumpet voluntary

Beautiful organ. It's a shame it's so small!

@patrick9648 I agree! I am very traditional when it comes to worship...MUCH rather have organ in a real sanctuary than a rock band on a 'stage'!

I don't care for this arrangement of the piece. I have one I think is better that flows much easier.
The playing is great, though. Compliments!!

Contemporary Christian Music. It's goofy music with drums, guitars, pianos talking about how cool Jesus is....
