hey great video!...btw how did you shoot it to get the 2.64:1 or 2.55:1 aspect ratio?? (I'm not sure which one it is) I thought you could only get 16:9 with the XL2. Is it possible to shoot faster than 60i? say....above 500 fps? it's a professional camera after all

Well if you have the system to support it, the XHA1 is magnificient, but the XL2 is still a great camera. I suppose it depends on whether you're whilling to spend the extra money.

Do you have to have a high Def. DVD writer, and computer to use the camera? I guess I don't really need the HDV feature, but I really am disappointed that the XL2 doesn't have a LCD.

How do you feel having to look in the viewfinder all the time? Do it bother you at all? Furthermore, I heard because of the XL2 shape, it's heavy to carry when you have a lense on, it just weights the camera down quite bit.

Hey man! Actually I have SV Movie Studio 4.0. It would be nice to have SVP or better yet final cut, but I spent all my money on the camera, ha! I learned through trial and error. Good luck with the XL2, it's amazing!

no I own it and i have not seen a feature like that. Slow motion is usually done in post like adobe after effects or countless other programs like it.

It all depends on your editing software.

one trick you can use to get the slow motion effect on the xl-2 is to shoot in 60i, split the interlaced footage to create two "half frames" per interlaced frame, and you can slow it down to 40% speed and acheive the look of almost flawless 24 frame footage at 40% the speed. Look up more details on how to do this on your editing program on various tutorial websites.

I didn't do it the "right" way. If you stop the video at 1:09. That's all I did. I bumped the contrast all the up and applied a b/w filter. Then cropped.

Thank you a lot. The editing program I use is Sony Vegas, the 100 dollar version.

The lighting I use are all HMI. Only one professional light. The rest I got from Home Depot.

WOW Fantastic, goog color correction, if your using Particular I suggest you use that with your title for the smoke thing, it would look awesome. But Dude this is good, what color correction do you use?
