Whoa, whoa, whoa! Don't teach players to overstep themselves whether backpedaling or running forward! Correct this! Use quick feet and feet under the shoulders, or they're gonna lose balance, get burned by WR,or get bumped over on their rear ends easily!

Reading a QB's drop might be handy, but there's just too much going on to think about when covering a reciever to do that. Your primary look should be at the reciever you're covering, or he's gonna burn you when you're looking the other way.

Personally, I do not think I would waste time telling a kid with a sweatshirt on under his pads how to intercept the ball...I might explain the ratio of water to powder when mixing the gatorade, but I think catching an opposing QB's pass would be like catching lightning in a bottle.
