My name is Miracle, and I was born at a dead show in 1978... I toured with the dead for the first 6 years of my life living in a blue school bus. We were known as the home grown family. and now as a grown woman, I still love the dead, My childhood was the most lovely part of my life, And I can still see bobby singing this song to me! Brent would hold me in his lap and play me lullabys....jerry was always a recluse but I love him still to this day. and through their music they will always b
Nice job on this video mijknahs! I loved 1981 tons of energy. The band for the most part could do no wrong, garcia was somewhat healthy and the band was just grooving the massive crowds had not found out about our little secret circus.Everything was alot cooler there was no D.E.A in the parking lots,no rip off"s or i should say very, very minimal.no gate crashing it was just so fucking cool until our space was invaded by a ton of wanna be"s........
Sounds like an off night. Jerry's missing notes, playing rough, hanging on. His vocals sound weird inside of "Miracle" like they're coming from behind something looking for a way out. Bobby taking the stage pumping it up on Bertha
Well we all have "those" daze .
(And yes, I still like the GD even on their off nights)
I disagree. I've listened to this show many times (in it's entirety) and I think it's a "hot" night. It's a good show. Download the show from archive.org. A couple nice auds there.
"heart of gold band" not to rub it in but if i could have stopped time it would have been during one of these 81 shows...listen/watch Brent he doesn't play that B1 he works it like some kind of thunder machine then it's like dropplets of water.check the scarlet from this night..look how close to each other they stood...such a tight unit i personally believe everthing came together that year and 82 then again in 87' but without all that fucking muscle....j
ust beautiful...I'll betcha it was 105 degrees in there but it felt like being back in the womb Thanks for posting this...this was the golden yummys....freaking Bobby leading the band ...shit and i don't even dig him all that much but i did that night....God bless Jerry garcia PLEASE
@Toppersbazaar Bro how many shows were you at during these times? You say everything came together in'82 then again '87 did you not see shows between '83 and'85 if not you missed out on tons of energy. But back to where you say everything ''came together'' in'81 ,bro what about the '70's? That is where all the music jelled as much as i liked the '80's the '70's was when a whole lot of shakin' was goin on.What would you know about CLEAN orange sunshine? All that was gone by the end of '74 sorry.
this I believe was a great peak for the dead garcias sense of urgency knowing the years were ripping by he was way mellower in the 70s also he had attained his full deep wisdom vibe by then all grey and wise like a pyramid...freaking Moses with one commandment "find some CLEAN orange sunshine and meet me here and now! ....at this time you had to wipe up the floor after a stella blue
it was just so cosmic so freeaking beautiful ...I just can't write enough i could start now and end five years from now and it would only scratch the surface as to the kinda things that happened those nights....time itself would stop and let 20 thousand people on the bus and garcia would drive it straight out to and straight into the universe...a true shaman...as along as you kept looking at him his killer vibe would pacify those little fears like magic....
