@FOOCHOOLA3 Things will vary with the environment. It sounds like you could have used more water. I just add a few drops at a time when I am close to the correct consistency.
I like your video, But i have a question about the icing...Will the icing melt?Because i want to keep my cookies in the jar, so i don;t want them to stick together and become very sticky~Pls help~
im gonna do this for a party i usually never decorate because kids are kids and they will just eat it and don't really care about the look but since its christmas i'm gonna make this icing for the christmas cookies i'm making
@mybraceletsify This is more of a cookie glaze than a frosting. I think you will get the best results from Buttercream frosting, and you can add colors and flavors, if you like.
@bettyskitchen Dear Betty, is this icing appropriate for cupcakes too? I am a big fan of your recipes and so are all all the people that I make them for! Thank you so much for making the videos so easy to follow.
@Ukulele104 You could crush your sugar in your blender using the ice crushing function. That would do for confectioner's sugar too, but it would be best to use the real deal, of course.
Oh if you are coloring your icing, to wow your guest, mix that icing with a nice brewed tea, it just gives it that BANG and they can't figure out what it is!
i made these with my 3 year old daughter. she loved the food coloring part best..she wanted more and more coloring lol lol. things for making my day, very easy for a single father.like myself. thanks!!!
If you want more options for colors than the simple red/yellow/blue/green that comes in most food coloring boxes, look in the baking section of craft stores, they sell this coloring gel that you just need to dip a toothpick in and it'll vibrantly color your icing, they have tons of colors and they're awesome for mixing!
Betty, will the icing set up hard so that you can stack the cookies together? I'd like to make some sugar cookies with a recipe I have, and use your icing recipe. My only concern would be if they would stick together or not? Thanks.
what can i use instead of confectioners sugar
MissSeraphicCharm 3 weeks ago
Thanks! I can't wait to try this but what should I do if its to watery? Add more sugar?
1pinkluvr1 1 month ago
@1pinkluvr1 Yes, just add confectioner's sugar until it is the consistency you need for spreading. It will dry.

Actually I don't know which is better... this icing or royal icing for the decoration? Which is easy to work with? :)
MichelleBulgaria 2 months ago
@MichelleBulgaria They are equally easy to work with. I think royal icing generally dries harder.

@amyslc93 This icing is like a glaze that harden over the top when it is allowed to sit for awhile. After it has dried, you can package them up.
