I don't understand how Israel can now claim (and the UN can back up) that this never happened! Has everyone seen the Toronto "Globe and Mail" article claiming this never happened? I think Jerusalem should be nationalized, declare it as property of the UN. Then give the palestinians a country whose capital will be Jerusalem. One capital, two nations, that's how it was decided in 1947 in the UN before the war had begun.
Also, Jerusalem should be demilitarized which means no army whatsoever will be able to enter it.

I wish people would make up there minds. On one had everyone condemns the United States for trying to be world police. On the other hand we are expected to step in and settle the worlds problems. Israel would like NOTHING but peace, however, Hamas REFUSES to yield their constant reign of terror, and continue to kill innocent people and deny Israel's right to exist! Why were there so many casualties among innocent Palestinians? Because Hamas uses their civilians as HUMAN SHIELDS and is therefore solely responsable for the loss of life! If the IDF would act in the same barbaric manner there would be MANYmore deaths in Israel! You have no right to tell Israel how to DEFEND their citizens!

nonsense. israel has accelerated settlement building, it has built a wall and installed more checkpoints illegally all over the occupied territories. the idf occupies and destroys homes and kills innocent people regularly. the 1300 people slaughtered in gaza were slaughtered by israel, 400+ children were slaughtered by israel. hamas, in contrast, abided by the truce for six months. don't say israel wants peace when the exact opposite is the case.

It is well known that Hamas signed Arab peace agreement, but Israel does not and the reason is simple, Israel does not want to move back to 1967 border and want to keep occupying the land it has confiscated in disagreement of UN resolution, and they reason USA and Israel wants Fatah to gain power is because Fatah is wiling to negotiate 1967 border but Hamas does not want to, it is incorrect to confuse Hamas rhetoric with actual steps Hamas taken and Israel uses that rhetoric for propaganda.
