  • The dirty sensor killed this time lapse for me. At least clone them out. Just my thoughts.

Where in the south bay are you?

  • couldn't be possible to take real film, by using three different cameras with only one source lens?

  • @jegriva It's possible only in timelapse because the slow enviromental movement allows for 3 frames in rapid succession to be used as one. There's a 720p copy of most of the film on my channel and you can actually see the ghosting caused by the process in faster moving objects like cars.

  • Holy Dumb Crap in this case

  • that hdr crapfest just look downright silly

  • Neat, And I always thought it would be computer games catching up to photograhpy and not the other way around ;D

  • Already use in the making of video game ^^

  • HDR = High DYNAMIC Range, not "definition".

  • yeah exactly

  • Amazing work! Wonderful way to push the bounds and take the concept and technology to a new level!

  • Well, I think it's a fabulous video. I like HDR. It is a shame about your view count though.

  • Absolutely hideous.

  • Cannon 30d's have an easy Auto Exposure Bracketing. You just click on it and dail your exposure range up to 2 1/2 steps. Needs external timelapse device like nikkon. Im thinking of spoofing a bond movie opening for the next trailer. Also I put up a couple of negative politial ads about my timelapse film.

  • Nice! your tonemapping is a bit severe for my tastes but very interesting nonetheless... How many brackets?

  • 3 brackets, shooting 700,000 frames (after tone mapping) would have been a bit too much in 5 frame. We max out the tone mapping because people haven't seen it before. We are going to make another feature length film in 100% HDR, if we ever get anything resembling a budget.

  • I'm going to assume your using Nikon bodies(?) Which ones and how was the shutter life? I've seen around 170k out of the D200 and around 140k out of the D2H. My biggest complaint about Nikon is the 1eV step limitation for pro bodies. I've been hammering them for 2eV. FWIW, I've done a handful of 9 bracket sequences! Amazing dynamic range....

  • Using Cannon 30d's They run about 250k clicks lifespan. We blew out 5 cameras filming this project, thank god for lifetime replacement warranties. Cannon does 2 step AEB. Any advice on youtube views? I made the most substatial timelapse work this year (84 min), and I've got like 30 views. I see a "first timelapse on my 4 dollar webcam" video and it has 17,000 views. Any idea how this works?

  • I don't understand how your getting bracketed intervals on a Canon body? I've looked into it in depth and couldn't figure it out. Nevertheless, there is a luck factor to views but for the most part networking and finding 'like minded' members , communicating, sharing ideas, etc. tends to draw people in. Once you start to establish numbers you'll rate much higher in the search engine. Obviously teen girls giving a tease show is always a sure winner! LOL

  • Promoting your YouTube work is a lot like promoting a blog. One thing you can do is visit other related videos and leave comments. Like for example this one. Now I hope you'll come back to my channel and look at some of my own timelapse stuff -- it's not pro like yours, but it's better than a "4 dollar webcam".

You can also insert sexy babes in the middle few frames of your vid, then it will show up as the teaser pic... No I don't do it (yet) but yes it works.
