well, I think the persons from england or america that can not undrstand jamaican is stupid, because it's da same ting, jus different pronounciation... But Patwa is different word dem...
OMG! You are displaying some level of ignorance. Jamaicans speak two languages. English and Jamaican Creole. The Jamaican Creole is NOT ENGLISH. The Jamaican Creole has a rich background but simply put it is an amalgamation of languages plus some mispronounced words words by slaves from the era of the plantacrocy. Kindly research before you make an ass of yourself. However, your interpretation is somewhat accurate. But again the Jamaican Creole is NOT English.
@Vorelchi ur right i am displaying ignorance... but it's extremly sarcastic.. i'm referiing and actually making fun of the ignorant people that don't understand and say ignorant things because 'they don't understand"..so no insult was intended, nor were any feelings meant to be hurt.
@Vorelchi it is not to be confused with Jamaican Patois (what linguists call Jamaican Creole), nor with the vocabulary and language usage of the Rastafari movement.[3] ("Patois" is a French term referring to regional languages of France, which include some Creole languages, but in Jamaica it refers to Jamaican Creole, which Jamaicans have traditionally seen as "broken english" )/// wiki
