It seemed like your stirrups were too short, causing you to not he able to have as much control with legs cues. You also leaned WAY too far foward which could cause you to flip over like that. Granted it has been forever since I rode last, but other than that you look wonderful. You pretty much have control :)
You did great seen as your were dehydrated, obviously you won't be able to concentrate as much if you were so dehydrated but I only read the info after, I thought it was just one of those falls that come around:') Gorgeous horse by the way x
This video was uploaded in 2008 and I feel a little silly commenting, but I see a lot of posts questioning your dehydration being the cause for your falls. That definitely, without a doubt could be the cause. Dehydration makes you tired, weak, and completely out of it. You need 100% concentration while riding, and if you're dehydrated you can't do that. You were obviously having difficulty concentrating and you seem tired and frustrated which can definitely be because of your dehydration.
When you jump at shows, shouldn't you have a protective vest on? (It could be under your shirt, but just saying). And I also don't think you can blame this on "extreme dehydration, but, again, that is just me :)
@sophiaaa97 wow u can go to shows however u want go ahead spend ur money on expensive things u dont have to be rude about what SHE is wearing its none of ur bis anyway so just leave her alone
Everyone has bad and great days. Your horse is georgeus and you did just great. Sometimes we need a break then everything goes right. Think your horse felt your emotions and he refused because of this. My horse acts sometimes like yours. If I have no mood to jump that obstacle, but I force her to do it, she will sure stop. They feel as you feel.
Oh shut your face. I went in a show in jeans and a top once, its not about how you dress, its about how you jump. Yeah, i got picked at, but only by a stuck-up bunch of rich girls who paid 100s of pounds to have flippin dimantes on their jacket. I think you`d fit in well with them.
Anyway horseluver430, you`re a brilliant rider, and even with dehydration, you handled it well. :)
you slid so nicely down his neck ehe. i get really hot at shows, im super prone to heat and sun stroke, so shows are really rough on me, so i totally get what its like when you're hot and dehydrated! and i LOVE how you said for ppl not to leave advice and they STILL do! they drive me bloody nuts! seriously! lol.
IVE DONE THIS!!!!!!!! i was suffering from dehydration, i had not drunk any water for three days! and i was riding and i was feeling dizzy and tryed to get off and i fell onto my face and have a fractured nose :)))) this was only like 3 weeeks ago HAHAHA
Wow. Great job:) It wasn't you're fault. That horse just didn't like barrels:( and that was basically what you were doing:( but other wise great ride!
Great video! Well...not at the fact you fell off lol but well done for getting back on. Creased at people commenting saying that you shouldn't have trotted...we trot horses in to 1m! They can jump pretty big from a trot so what you were jumping there wasn't impossible for the horse, he was a little cheeky there! Lol if you're just learning trotting round is the best way to build your confidence....so keep going you're doing a good job :) x
@hasssz27 um no, your actually supposed to sit there for a second and feel to make sure nothing is fractured or broken. and she said that she thinks she might have broken her nose, and you can see in the video that she like slowly sat up holding her face... you can't jsut make assumptions withoout actually being there..
people stop complaining that she trotted over it. im sure that every single rider here has at least trotted over a 2' 6" fence once in their lives. so stop critizing her. she was a great riding and im sure shes improved so much more now!
@xxxxxPippinxxxxx i know that. but if this is at a show, and she paid for it, why would she trot the fences and have a time fault. it doesn't make sense.
@3DGIsLife I trotted all the fences in my first round at a show? she might be a beginner, & as long as she has fun doing it then its worth the money.♥
Could i please use this clip for a falls video i am making? i would give you full credit, but i can understand if you don't want me using your clip :)
Some ppl are really mean don't worry bout it everybody falls off =) but I'm just wondering have you thought of bringing a crop on him? Plz don't take offense I was just wondering if he didn't like crops or if you just didn't bring one on him that day
fuck u hunterjumperlover7, BWriderK2, imigan, and others who r being mean!!! if u ride horses u no wat it's lik and if u dont wat makes u think u can say anything?????she was really good
@hunterjumperlover7 it's pretty easy to fall off your horse even when they don't spook, you know. In fact, It's extremely easy to fall off from a refusal. I've cantered into real fences before, and I fell even though my horse didn't SPOOK. what a retarded comment.
did you hurt ur wrist in that fall? i may have just saw it wrong but it looked like u were holding it . well the horse is beautiful and it looked greeat well until you fell :P :D still i think ur a good rider :)
@BWriderK2 Um everyone has bad falls. I fell off recently because I was too far forward when my horse refused and I slid off but that happens! Everyone falls. If you haven't, means you aren't a real rider and trying hard enough.
i almost did that going over a crossrail i think it would hav been funny if i had fallen off cuz i wasn't in two point and it was my falut. and ur a way better jumper than i am. i suck at it so much my instructor wants me to do dressage instead.
nice.. lol cute horse he looks like a horse at my old barn. does he buck like 7 feet in the air occasionally and whats his name? it might be the same one cuz he got sold a while back. great riding up until the fall. but it's k. ive fallen cuz of dehydration b4 and after i fell i passed out. lol now my trainer is always like, "do you need water?" "are you feeling ok?" or "does your head hurt at all" she gets a tad paranoid. lol but its cuz she cares.
@icecreamwitcherries I'd rather have a trainer paranoid about my safety than a trainer who gets wicked ticked off when i fall...my last trainer I had, about the fourth time I fell off riding one of her lesson horses, she got wicked ticked off at me and said "she wasn't calling 911"...even though i'd messed up my back pretty bad
@icecreamwitcherries kinda,I went back to training with one of my old trainers. The trainer i'm with now is awesome. She knows me well enough to know that when i fall,i usually jump right back up and get right back on the horse within a nano second and that if i don't there's something wrong. And she's so patient.
sometimes our horses can sense when we are unsure about things too. Sounds to me like you (by reading below) had a lot more to think about with this horse than just riding.... I have had other riders at my barn try to psych me out about my mount... and I had to bring myself back by reminding myself to just ride. I rode a mare who was insecure and would do the same thing, but I just kept my own confidence up and we had a clean ride. Glad to see you are riding and learning from your mistakes. :)
there is no reason to explain why you fell off and you did nothing wrong i promise you im not an expert but falling off is my specialty lol but i can never catch them on tape. haha well you looked amazing and goerge is gorgeous :)
I hate that! My instructor says you have to fall off 7 times before you're a real rider. When that happens, give him a smack with the crop in front of the jump. It helps. You also lean forward to soon. The jump isn't that high so post right up to it. Use more leg aswell. Hope this helps!
haha i ride a national show horse named gotta be trouble "spanky" and in one show i fell off and hurt my wrist. but i went in my class anyway, and got first!
the next day i went to the doctors and found out when i fell i broke my wrist in 3 places :]
haha. i love falling off. unless i hurt my self (i usually never do, they call me superkid cause i can withstand terrible falls) what typa show? schooling? cant be trillium or A cause then you'd need propper outfit and all...just askin. i show trillium. taking on my 2nd year this year on a green pony. big adventure
last year i rode a experienced pony, ended up 3rd overall. in canada...or on ontario...no canda. it was pretty big wateva. awsome vid
you need to be more conficent and riding a horse. when everything is good and fine you stay in the saddle, but when it's not you need to sit in the saddle and hold on, giving your horse your self confidents, if you won't, you'll gona fall every time something goes wrong.
OMG you could of so stayed on if you had been more prepared, you always need to be prepared for what a horse could do. (I know I'm giving advice but you need it and I know the horse didn't like the barrell jumps but, good anyway.
that happens to me all the time, but i just learned how to jump, maybe sit back and not hold your reins so tight, because that should give you more balance, good job getting right back on and not letting that fall get to you, or hold you back, i have fallen like that, but mine was because my pony started majorly rushing it so i pulled her back and she came to a sliding stop so i fell over her head, and stuff,.
ive had that happen so many times the thing that i did was i was not sitting back and holding the reins. plaus dont for grt to squeeze your legs on it.
oh and i just paused it at 0:47... she is folding in preparation for the jump? if you cant see that clearly maybe you should revise the stages of jumping.... paused at this (from my opinion) it looks like the take off blatantly didnt go well lol but you should be folding there anyway as the horse is about to take off -duh-
if im wrong im wrong- sorry if this sounded at all "advicey" or like criticism i really didnt want it to xx
Jesus Stop Leaving "Advice" Comments And Acting Like Your Better than Her, People Make Maistakes And Accidents Happened, Well done you For Getting Back On And You Clearly gave It your Best Shot! Well Done On How Well you Did At the Show- Your horse Is Lovely and i tihnk you did very well, ignore those people giving "advice" you did fine!
getting a bend in the horses neck is important -to collect him and to soften your hands. soft in the hands=good. giving riens=bad sturrups are short and elbows arent bent. Practice makes perfect:) trust me im a grand prix jumper
you jumped the rest absolutely fine but going into those two fences when your horse refused you lent forward a little too much but dont worry just sit up a little more next time then hopefully you wont fall but the rest of the fences you did fine :)
cute horse!! love the name lol. not be annoying, but you can tell right at :47 that you were leaning forward a little...since you knew that he didnt like the jump you should have sat back and pushed him with your seat. then again, everyone has moments...i know i have lol nice riding before that tho :)
the reasons.....your jumping ahead, your heels are up, your stirrups are wayy too short! i would say 2 holes down. your gripping too much with your knees, (dont worry I have the same problem) and you need to work on crest release.
bless. youve probably improved since then.. but try to sit back a little going towards jumps and then you wont tumble over the front. just a small tip :) xxx
Nice... well done for getting back on... dont take this the wrong way or anything but try not to lock out your elbows... my friend does it all the time, its really amusing :)
That was sooooooo funny. I have ridden a horse that was like that. I know just how you feel! Well I didn't break my nose but I fell off and landed on my back! GREAT VIDEO!!!!
Ah, I remember a similar experience. Except with the horse I was riding, she did actually do the jump. Well....sorta. She somehow ended up with her front hooves firmly planted in front of the barrel and the rear hooves behind, whilst I just went soaring over her head with about as much grace as a catapulted rag doll. But hey, the replay was kinda funny.
Keep up the riding, you have a really natural flow from shoulder to hip. It's awesome.
I understand that, and the caps was just to get my point across. And i dont understand your point, isnt using leg necessary in riding? and doesnt sometimes a person need to gently kick thier horse to get it to move if it isnt..? just saying..
Not finished! AN would rather have her WHIPPING the hrose than GENTLY kicking it ? yeah thats what i thought!
and rider(sorry, dont know your name :/ :[ ) That wasnt bad at all.. i mean sure you fell(which is bad)... but what ever rude comments you get on here, let it go in one ear and out the other!
First off... WHAT THE FRICK is your problem Writtenonclouds?!! like seriously ..news flash that was really rude and just COMPLETLY UNCALLED FOR! YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT FRICKEN HORSE, and neither do i! maybe he usually needs spurs, and she wasnt wareing any... thus KICKING THE HORSE TO MAKE IT GO OVER HTE FENCE WAS NECCESARY!
Omg, just stop overusing caps lock! second, youre fifteen, I have been riding since you were a newborn. Yes, I dont know the horse or the rider. Just saying that people in general is kicking their horses in the side and thinks its okay. But its not.
of course you ride a horse with your legs you don't just freaking reav on their faces with wich ever harsh bit you choose. you should use as nicest bit as possible and if you don't use your legs you are retarted because i am pretty sure you wouldn't like a piece of metal in your mouth and have it yanked on
ever heard of riding a horse with the seat? Ever even watched the elite dressage riders? They do not ned their legs to make the horse understand what they want them to do. And if you are good at riding, you should know that.
I agree that you shouldn't kick a horse right before the jump but only because that takes you leg off the horse and you can end up... well... like she did... but using your seat is just as bad cuz it teaches horses to run at the jumps. I should know. I have an electric but XP
You say you can't have too much leg on him? Is he ott? If so, then you should do some legs on work with him & with your legs as long as possible. I have an ott mare that was like that & now she is great. They just gotta get used to the feel of the leg pressure. All the best hun. :)
ouch!! my horse dosnt likebarrels either!! last show (championships!!) i went to my horse spooked at teh first jump and so i never got to finish :( o well. hahah i was wondering if maybe i could use this video in my spills vid i am making. plz message me wether it is a yes or a no. thanks. i would love to use it!! plz reply!!
I feel for you. I have been to four shows in my life so far and I have fallen off at two. It's really embarassing but you learn to laugh at it eventually! lol good job and nice horse!
Ouch! Broken nose... That does sound sore. if only you could ahev sat up, even so I think you might have fallen. Anyway, can I please use this clip for a horse falls vid I'm amkikng?

aw George reminds me of my horse Jedd!!!
HaleyG12311 1 year ago
you need to be more conficent and riding a horse. when everything is good and fine you stay in the saddle, but when it's not you need to sit in the saddle and hold on, giving your horse your self confidents, if you won't, you'll gona fall every time something goes wrong.
Falka89 1 year ago
OMG you could of so stayed on if you had been more prepared, you always need to be prepared for what a horse could do. (I know I'm giving advice but you need it and I know the horse didn't like the barrell jumps but, good anyway.
LarasunBeam 1 year ago
I fell off like that twice in one day once on the same jump haha(:
horseluver313 2 years ago
it looked cute tho lol
sleepingdead 2 years ago
that happens to me all the time, but i just learned how to jump, maybe sit back and not hold your reins so tight, because that should give you more balance, good job getting right back on and not letting that fall get to you, or hold you back, i have fallen like that, but mine was because my pony started majorly rushing it so i pulled her back and she came to a sliding stop so i fell over her head, and stuff,.
jonasfan7508 2 years ago
great job-was this ur first show-it doesnt look like it!
i agree though-sit up with confidence after a jump you got right back on 2! - GREAT JOB JUMPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MercuryBeyRioH 2 years ago
good job! but try to bend your elbows a little more. =)
Abracadabra614 2 years ago
omg, ur a good rider how did you fall? Anyway, you look like a stong rider. Ooh were you ok?
mrshorsejumper 2 years ago
Aww, and you were doing so well!
taylorluvshorses16 2 years ago
ive had that happen so many times the thing that i did was i was not sitting back and holding the reins. plaus dont for grt to squeeze your legs on it.
horslovr99 2 years ago
oh and i just paused it at 0:47... she is folding in preparation for the jump? if you cant see that clearly maybe you should revise the stages of jumping.... paused at this (from my opinion) it looks like the take off blatantly didnt go well lol but you should be folding there anyway as the horse is about to take off -duh-
if im wrong im wrong- sorry if this sounded at all "advicey" or like criticism i really didnt want it to xx
Titterley 2 years ago
Jesus Stop Leaving "Advice" Comments And Acting Like Your Better than Her, People Make Maistakes And Accidents Happened, Well done you For Getting Back On And You Clearly gave It your Best Shot! Well Done On How Well you Did At the Show- Your horse Is Lovely and i tihnk you did very well, ignore those people giving "advice" you did fine!
Titterley 2 years ago 2
getting a bend in the horses neck is important -to collect him and to soften your hands. soft in the hands=good. giving riens=bad sturrups are short and elbows arent bent. Practice makes perfect:) trust me im a grand prix jumper
goavalanche13 2 years ago
that looked like a bad fall

sanditom 2 years ago
you jumped the rest absolutely fine but going into those two fences when your horse refused you lent forward a little too much but dont worry just sit up a little more next time then hopefully you wont fall but the rest of the fences you did fine :)

Was she okay?
EvaSkemm 2 years ago
cute horse!! love the name lol. not be annoying, but you can tell right at :47 that you were leaning forward a little...since you knew that he didnt like the jump you should have sat back and pushed him with your seat. then again, everyone has moments...i know i have lol nice riding before that tho :)
montyplusme 2 years ago 2
what level are you at in this and really everybody falls...i got ran into a tree by a horse being stubborn...haha it hurt
brookiemonster11 2 years ago
Good jumping:)
I still trot my courses...havn't quite got to the part of being calm at a show yet..my horse that is..but your horse looks really calm..great riding.
AnimeFreakErica 2 years ago
i wish we were aloud to trot the courses
AQHorseFaN16 2 years ago
the reasons.....your jumping ahead, your heels are up, your stirrups are wayy too short! i would say 2 holes down. your gripping too much with your knees, (dont worry I have the same problem) and you need to work on crest release.
horse11lover 2 years ago
lol! ur horse is a nice jumper! Looks very smooth. lol graceful fall too! looked like u hurt ur back or ur neck tho?
1967ImpalaGal 2 years ago

ilovelittlebill 2 years ago 2

hayhunterjumper 2 years ago
OUCH! that looks like it hurt!
horsecrazy27 2 years ago
Ah, I remember a similar experience. Except with the horse I was riding, she did actually do the jump. Well....sorta. She somehow ended up with her front hooves firmly planted in front of the barrel and the rear hooves behind, whilst I just went soaring over her head with about as much grace as a catapulted rag doll. But hey, the replay was kinda funny.
Keep up the riding, you have a really natural flow from shoulder to hip. It's awesome.
bubblewrapbump 2 years ago
He doesnt like the barrels!
acenkay 2 years ago
Your a good rider...What i would do is free launge the horse over barrels that way he gets use to them...(im just saying)
acenkay 2 years ago
I understand that, and the caps was just to get my point across. And i dont understand your point, isnt using leg necessary in riding? and doesnt sometimes a person need to gently kick thier horse to get it to move if it isnt..? just saying..
3dayEventerFHMI 2 years ago
Not finished! AN would rather have her WHIPPING the hrose than GENTLY kicking it ? yeah thats what i thought!
and rider(sorry, dont know your name :/ :[ ) That wasnt bad at all.. i mean sure you fell(which is bad)... but what ever rude comments you get on here, let it go in one ear and out the other!
3dayEventerFHMI 2 years ago
First off... WHAT THE FRICK is your problem Writtenonclouds?!! like seriously ..news flash that was really rude and just COMPLETLY UNCALLED FOR! YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT FRICKEN HORSE, and neither do i! maybe he usually needs spurs, and she wasnt wareing any... thus KICKING THE HORSE TO MAKE IT GO OVER HTE FENCE WAS NECCESARY!
3dayEventerFHMI 2 years ago
Omg, just stop overusing caps lock! second, youre fifteen, I have been riding since you were a newborn. Yes, I dont know the horse or the rider. Just saying that people in general is kicking their horses in the side and thinks its okay. But its not.
writtenonclouds 2 years ago
your horse moves really well he looks really good
Misspaaigeeee 2 years ago
of course you ride a horse with your legs you don't just freaking reav on their faces with wich ever harsh bit you choose. you should use as nicest bit as possible and if you don't use your legs you are retarted because i am pretty sure you wouldn't like a piece of metal in your mouth and have it yanked on
7uhsoal 2 years ago
ever heard of riding a horse with the seat? Ever even watched the elite dressage riders? They do not ned their legs to make the horse understand what they want them to do. And if you are good at riding, you should know that.
writtenonclouds 2 years ago
I agree that you shouldn't kick a horse right before the jump but only because that takes you leg off the horse and you can end up... well... like she did... but using your seat is just as bad cuz it teaches horses to run at the jumps. I should know. I have an electric but XP
horsecrazy27 2 years ago
what a beautiful horse!

girlluvshorses47 2 years ago
You say you can't have too much leg on him? Is he ott? If so, then you should do some legs on work with him & with your legs as long as possible. I have an ott mare that was like that & now she is great. They just gotta get used to the feel of the leg pressure. All the best hun. :)
