  • Super Diva! The Lady Sings like no one else! God bless Diana Ross!

  • While I like her voice better than Tina Turner's, I have to say that TIna's version was better.

Although neither are nearly as good as Lebo M's original version. In my opinion, at least.

  • i love the double platinum!

  • spectacular! the rendition of this song is the highligth of double platinum.

  • @tattluvr true dat

  • @MsLGrey lots of people like glamor & thats what diana does. Tina is a skank.

  • @whatigot2say narh the song was not intended to be glamorus doe and u obviously dont no what a skank is

  • @MsLGrey she made it beautiful (vocally) as a song on the cd. of course this clip is for a tv movie where it's suppose to be about a glamorous star so she's doing what the script calls for. Skank= Tina yes.

  • @whatigot2say yes i see you point but her voclas arent that great and no tina turner ent a skank u just dont no what one is

  • @MsLGrey matter of taste i suppose. I love her voice on this. As you can tell I'm not a tina fan.

    Her encore was for Michael.

  • one word....chills

  • LOVE this song, her version is sweet!!! The Lion King 2 version is amazing as well. :) Im getting the chorus slightly altered tattooed on my leg:

The Great I am, Lives in you, Lives in me, watches over everything we see, into the water into the truth, in your reflection, God lives in you. * Such a deep and brilliant song*

  • @julietrosem That's a cool tattoo idea.

  • for best results, turnup the volume at 2.00 and sing into a deoderant can/ bairbrush/ tv remote ect! woooooow i get goosebumps - she is just amazing!! :'D

  • LION KING 2 Simba's Pride

  • she sounds alot more indian 2 mii

  • not a fan of this version

  • I love this! When did she sing this?

  • @mindyourbizok i think about 1998/99 - just after Lion King II Simbas Pride released she heard it and did it her her album :) i have it - this is a shorter version its actually over 4 minutes long.

  • boooooo boooo booo is better the one from lion king!

  • my favourite song my a mile :) as a child i always loved the Lion King, and i still do, and this was my favourite song out of all the films. then when i found Diana Ross's take on it - WOW! she has always been a long favourite of mine, so ts a double whammy :)

  • fantastic film great women she rocks love all the songs xxx

  • fantastic film great women she rocks love all the songs xxx

  • listen to this song I can feel the power of the universum!!

  • I don't think that this version is THAT good. I think that the 1997 broadway version is the best singing-wise, but I plan to do this for a group (like 50 people or so, with dancing on a stage) performance so I wanted a version without the lead vocal doing any african chanting (not that it isn't good but that it wouldn't be right for this sort of performance) so I think that for this her version is the best.

  • when she says He lives in you....gives me goosebumps

  • @bilalzq

wow me 2 im not even joking

    LOL

    nice version

  • @bilalzq that means goosebumps, I always said chickenskin loL

  • pure genius

  • are you stupid she is amazing you obviously don't know what good singing is. have you even heard of motown? she has the best voice for this song, so does tina turner.

    stupid

  • i like this version, quite addicted to it actually

  • @luckyfuzzie AGREE

  • Does it bother anyone else that the ensemble is saying heh-mah-lah instead of heh-meh-lah like on the recording?

  • haha yeah i didnt realize what u meant until they actually started singin it...that is bothering!

  • @TheHallBobby

yeah it's supposed to be Hela hey mamela which means "Hey, Listen"

  • love the dress. its ugly

  • oh my god. . . . ROFLMFAO! i listened to pretty much all of the versions of this out there, to try and find one with more energy and passion in the vocals, she does an okay job, but as powerful as her voice may seem she sings it rather soft to my surprise. you think i chose to just listen to her? you've got to be kidding me, how naive and stupid are you ? and this is the result of the American education system. How sad. . .

  • really what in the heck are you talking about?

  • @adamintellectual7 i was having an argument with another member on here

  • Not as breathtaking as the Broadway version, but it is really good nonetheless:)

  • i like the broadway version better, her voice is too high for this..

  • She is the BEST!!!! Bravo!!!

  • I luv the way she Diana-tized this song.

  • yup this is fast becoming my favourite song. i even have it on my iPod!! hehe i was listening to in in the night... omg i got shivvers down my spine! it almost sounds like a tribute to MJ, even though this was before he died.... maybe Miss Ross can foresee the future? xxx

  • look bozo she's singing about God living in you not Jacko.

  • shut it, he was mentioning that it sounds like a tribute not that it is, idiot

  • @tootierollstupiidfatass68er get your nose out of his ass and put it back in your dogs you loser.

  • @yurherenow stop being so negative and get back in your bed with your sister. shes the only person that wants to hear your speak : )

  • tootieroll69 why don't you take your own advice stop being negative, look where it's got you... nowhere loser, & you're mother's a ho b.t.w.

  • It figures why you'd be so negative and child-like, your from America, land of idiots and fried chicken. ahahahahahaha my mothers a hoe? is that the best you can come up? honestly? your just pathetic : ) i hope you have a nice life being socially retarded, im sure it will get you far : )

  • @ tootierfoll1169 ok how about your an obnoxious bitch? is that better? & news flash diana ross is from America the land of fried chicken you idiot, and you're on here watching her. obnoxious bitch.

  • LMAO! you think i watched her because its diana ross? you've got to be kidding me, i watch it because its one of my favorite songs, and yes i am a bitch, your mother bitch, considering she got bored of you and the rest of your family : )

  • @ tootieroll869 since you admitted to being a bitch that's what i'll call you... Biitch your a dumb ass... ithere a lot of people singing this song but you chose to listen to diana rosss the fried chicken eating american so your comment makes no sense. go back to sucking your dogs dick bitch.

  • ummm thats not a get back thats just nasty.

  • i never realised she sang this! when was this?

  • i dnd't care for diana ross's version of he lives in you only because it doesn't hav the same emotion as the original song

  • @southernangel530 i adore the Lion King version- i came on here to find it but came across this one, and i am a huge Diana Ross fan, so i am a little biased, lol x

  • her version has tons of emotion.. this is a short version used for her tv movie. the album track is awesome. Ross' voice and phrasing add a dimension of sophistication to the song and beauty.

  • omq the dress its soooo beautiful!!!!omg i love the dress omg!!

  • well i would assume that an intelligent person can take it out of context because the whole movie is suppossed to be taken out of context

    just so u know

  • What a gorgeous dress! Anyone know the designer?

  • apparently this dress was stolen from her backstage at a concert

  • that was her bedspread she was twirling around in.

  • i lovee thiss moviee that shee songg thiss singg inn. ! itt wass amazingg.

shee iss a amazingg inspira tionn andd entertainerr. ! ;)

  • i like to think "he" refers to whatever greater being you believe in

  • @hahayouwish19 AMEN to that. Right on.

  • @hahayouwish19 its about the lion king 2 it refers to the past king and fatther of the present king

  • im aware of the mrgbroderick. but i believe that when taken out of the context of the movie it can be interpreted in many different ways

  • nice voice

  • can someone explain 2 me who is 'he'

  • Mufasa, from the lion king. This is the opening to Lion King II, Simba's Pride. It refers to Simba's late father watching over him and his pride. Yeah, I like lion king.

  • watch The Lion King and you'll understand what she's singing about

  • look dude someone just told me the answer.

  • well, that's good to hear, I guess

    and I'm not dude-.-

  • oh,well,i'm sorry.

  • you have nothing to be sorry about

  • it misses most of the lyrics you put down but still a beutifull song in both diana ross's words and the person who sings it in the lion king 2

  • WOW SWEET - Expect Nothing less from this Goddess ^^

  • GO DIANA!!!

  • WOW.

  • stunning performance this is classic Ross hair toss' & all.

  • nice

  • Her version in the movie Double Platinum intoduced me the Lion King's version. Go on Lady D

  • You Go girl, Diana Ross, very Supreme and Divine!!!!!!

  • classic!

  • i agree.

  • she sings it sooo beautifull!

I like the lion king version better, but her´s is cool too:)

  • I am so moved by the wordings of this music.

  • yeah, you`re right

  • XD here here, well maybe just dump her somewhere else not so extreme XD

  • She Diana- itzed the song. Don't you know who she is?? you better ask somebody.

  • i like the lion king versoin much more...

  • diana you will forever be a diva !

  • weak voice

  • hu had this song 1st lion king or diana ross?

  • Lion King. Diana's Is a cover for Her Album "everyday is a new day" and The movie "Double Platinum" - Where this video clip is from

  • lion king broadway

  • This is THE best performance of Diana Ross that I have seen in Millennia! (yes, I am that old ;-)

I didn't even care that she did her signature (aka annoying) hair brush back with left hand as she walked the aisle, taking in all the love she was spinning.

AMAZING talent, that woman. But like all priceless things, mostly lost to uber rich collecting men ;-)

Come back to us, Diana!! :-)

  • Original version > Tina Tuner's version > This version.

This is beautiful, but that's just because the song, not because of Diana.

The song is song with a message within it, but Diana totally screwed it up with all the spot lights, her big fancy dress and her dancing act. And they totally forget the choir!! :( They have to sing in the dark and in simple outfits, while they are the power of the song: The backing vocals makes this song so strong, powerfull and just perfect.

  • well you have to remember that this is a movie, this aint an actual live performance. s she didnt have any control over how the song would be presented. the movie writers decided that it would be befitting to do it this way to validate her character as a big time star.

  • I love Diana's version of this. She really is one f pop's most underrated vocalists. The version in Lion King is more powerful but Diana's brings something in it's own right. Tina Turner also did this but I hers is not as good IMO.

  • This is a pretty good version. When I saw on Broadway, this song hit me like a ton of bricks and I was reduced to a heaving lump of tears. Not a bad thing, to be sure. But, I had to hold the walls on the way out it afterwards. It hit me that much. Also it reminds me of JESUS CHRIST, my LORD and SAVIOR. Who, indeed, lives in me. And who wants to live in you.

  • This is from the movie "Double Platinum" starring diana and brandy...Good movie!!!

  • where/when is this?

  • I've heard several different version from different singers, and I think Diana's voice is clearer, and delivery is less strain. She just know how to interprete a song...

  • Ooh I like this version of the song better than the original

  • how would this sound if Leona Lewis sang it?better i think, but diana does a pretty good job..

  • I Definetly Agree that leona Should sing this x

  • As nice as the performance is, I really cant say I feel the power of the song through her performance. Mainly because the entire time she keeps her voice mostly at a gentler tone. I always remember this songas a very loud, expressive and powerful song. I unfortunately do not feel the power in this rendition, as good as it was.
